Jake Reynolds has everything he could want in life, fame, fortune and the greatest job in America as a professional baseball player. He didn’t realize anything was missing, until the day he met Chelsea Simmons.
Chelsea is Jake’s biggest fan and can’t believe her luck when she wins a contest to meet the players on the field before a home game. Meeting Jake was a dream come true, she never thought she had a chance at love with him.
After finding his soul mate but ignoring his heart Jake goes into a hitting slump. Chelsea is what society calls a curvy woman, Jake fears she won’t be accepted into his world and would rather give up being with her than risk her happiness. Can he continue playing ball knowing his soul mate is within reach?
Keara’s second mission as a member of the faery clan The Laochra Gra is vastly different from her first. She has her work cut out for her putting these two in situations that usually end in unexpected and hilarious antics. Can Keara help them see past society’s small mindedness and give into the love they feel for each other?
I'm a born and raised Floridian who loves to travel. I married my high school sweetheart, we have three awesome kids and one crazy dog. I love all things Ireland and visited twice! Reading is essential to life and writing is an extension of that. If my books can make you laugh or give you that tingly feeling in your belly I've done something right!
I received a copy for an honest review. This is the second book in the Love’s Protector Series. It can be read as a stand alone. I didn’t read book one but I will be and book three is coming out soon and I will be reading that too. I found the book very endearing. It has some paranormal aspects that I loved. It also has some very erotic steamy scenes. The book revolves around Jake, a major league baseball player who has been in a hitting slump since meeting his number one fan a few weeks ago. I want to keep this spoiler free but let me say that Chelsea is not the “type” of girl that major league baseball players are expected to be involved with. Enter Keara, a beautiful faery whose mission is to help Jake with his swing on and off the field. This is a short read, about 100 pages. I liked the characters and the book very much.
I could not put this book down! What a charmingly sexy love story! Cassidy K. O'Connor is a talented writer that I recommend highly to anyone who enjoys a romance with a little magic, humor, and sexy as heck heroes!
Jake is a pro ball player who gets the help of team manager/fairy Keara to realize his fantasy girl is right in front of him. Chelsea is sweet, curvy and shy, all the things Jake finds attractive, but has a bit of a hard time dealing with since she is not the stereotypical girl athlete's go for. With a little magical nudge and a lot of sizzling glances, these two can not deny their mutual attraction. Will Jake get his swing back? You'll have to read it to find out!
The pace was perfect, steady and unrushed! I really value that in a novel and yes, I was completely entertained the entire time. Awesome book!
Keara is on her second mission to help two people find their true love. After her last mission when she allowed herself to become too involved with the man she was sent to help, Keara knows she must stay neutral. She must help Jake Reynolds a professional baseball player finds his true mate before the Lianhan Shee, a faery mistress with the power to enslave men lures him away from his true love. What Keara does not forsee, is the players that will be sent to distract her from her job.
Jake Reynolds has a problem, he has lost his swing and to a pro baseball player that is catastrophic! He doesn’t know what is causing his dilemma but if he can’t get his batting under control he may not be playing anymore. Everything seems to have started the day his biggest fan, Chelsea Simmons won the chance to meet the players at a game. Jake knows that she is the one for him but he fights the longing in his heart because Chelsea is not the expected woman for a player.
Keara has a tough job ahead to bring the two together. Will they be able to move past preconceived ideas of what is expected? Can they find their future happiness as a couple? Or will peer pressure destroy their relationship?
Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is a book that speaks to what is right and what is expected by others. The author brings in love and longing for a true mate that has to deal with prejudices!
Would I recommend this author: Yes! Keara’s adventures have a lure that makes the reader want another fix. Read another book by this author and you will find out why!

It's a classic from-different-worlds romance with a bit of a twist. Jake's a famous baseball player who could have any woman he wants...except the one he actually wants. Money, fame, and a celebrity status keeps him from claiming the one woman he knows is his. Sounds almost unthinkable, right? I mean, why couldn't he have her? He's got it all so what's the problem?
The problem was his perception of what was expected of him. Jake believed what he knew society wanted from him when it came to having a relationship: she had to be thin, insanely beautiful, famous, and wealthy. However, that wasn't the woman he wanted. He wanted Chelsea, a curvy woman who was beautiful because she was herself, who wasn't famous like him, or rich beyond belief. He didn't need a woman who only wanted to be his arm candy and his fame; he needed a woman who would ground him and love him for him, not his celebrity status or wealth.
Jake struggled to accept his feelings for Chelsea weren't going away. It took an act of Keara for him to get his butt in gear and make his move. Thank God too because I was getting frustrated watching him yo-yo between "Should I?" and "Shouldn't I?".
I liked and enjoyed this story. It moves quickly; don't skip anything because you'll miss something important. Jake and Chelsea are wonderfully paired in this story. Their shared love for baseball is shadowed only by an attraction that goes against the grain and won't be ignored. A lovely little romance with its share of ups and downs, and a happy ending that both Jake and Chelsea deserved.

Jake has lost his swing and his baseball team needs help getting it back so the team can get to the championship. When regular therapy doesn’t work they call in a specialist and get Keara. Team managers think Keara is just a counselor with new age ideas but this particular problem needs a specialized fairy that can work her magic and Keara is that fairy. Meanwhile the quiet and lovely Chelsea has followed Jake’s ball career and fallen for Jake. When she wins a contest the team holds she lands right in Jake’s back yard but she doesn’t even think he sees her or knows she exists. Chelsea’s music is her comfort and her dreams are of the handsome ball player Jake. Keara has her work cut out for her and she has to draw on all her fairy magic to find a way to get Jake’s swing back, his team’s winning streak back, and at the same time find a way to get him to his true mate, Chelsea. How all this is going to come about makes one fantastic fantasy baseball love story. If you love baseball, romance and fairies you have got to read Finding His Swing by Cassidy K O’Connor. Cassidy has worked her own magic blending this into a love story I couldn’t stop reading.
Jake is the hot famous baseball player. He's lost his swing ever since he met Chelsea. Chelsea is the curvy, sweet girl. He tries to deny their attraction because she doesn't fit in the norm of what a baseball player girlfriend looks like.
I love these type of stories it's probably because I'm a romantic at heart and I always like to read about stories where the hot famous guy is attracted to the underdog girl. I also think these type of stories show girls not to change the way you are. Be yourself. One day your prince charming will come along.
This book was swoony, the attraction between them through the pages was sizzling hot, plus there was some steamy sex scenes. I couldn’t put this book down! I couldn’t get to the end fast enough because I wanted to know how it was going to end......which I won't spoil it for you. You'll just have to read it and find out. Find out if Jake does get his swing back!
Jake is a Professional Baseball Player who is in a slump. He sort of knows why he is in the slump but is afraid to say the reason. His coach hires a therapist to find the reason behind the slump. Keara is on a mission to help people find their true mates. She teaches men to fall in love with the woman who is meant for them. She thinks this job will be easy since Jake has already met his true mate. What she doesn’t realize is that Jake has some internal issues with his true mate. Finding His Swing is the second book in the Love’s Protector’s series, it can be read as a stand-alone but I would highly recommend that you read the first book The Evolution of Sam (The Love's Protector Series Book 1) first to get a little more history behind the series.
This is a great short read! The characters are believable and easy to relate to. Keara is on a new mission to bring Jake and Chelsea to each other. They are soul mates yet both are struggling to break the ice so to say. Jake's team mates are not the nicest when it comes to Chelsea as she is not your typical girl a baseball player falls for. But the heart knows what it wants. And Jake's heart wants Chelsea. Chelsea is like any fan who meets their favorite player. But she also has feelings for Jake and doesn't think she is worth it. Keara has her work cut out for her in bringing these two together. Great read and I recommend it! ~Chell
Jake Reynolds is a professional ball player and he has all he could ever want until he meets his biggest fan Chelsea Simmons. That's when he realizes something is missing in his life and it's her but she is curvy and he feels she won't fit in and he would rather give her up than risk her being unhappy. So after finding her and not being able to have her he goes into a hitting slump. His teams solution is having him meet with Keara who happens to be a member of a faery clan The Loachra Gra and it's her job to get them together. This is her second mission. What a great story.
A fun, short story with a happily ever after. Keara's mission is to bring to soul mates together. Jake has met his soul mate but doesn't want to admit it because he is afraid of how the guys on his team will treat her since she's not a size zero. Chelsea is his biggest fan and dreams of him. While Keara works to help these two hook up, there are forces working against her. This is like a modern fairy tale. The characters are fun and the story light and entertaining. I look forward to Keara's next intervention for true love and soul mates.
This is a fun short read! Keara is on her next mission to bring two soul mates together, Jake and Chelsea. Jake is a pro basesball player and Chelsea is the ultimate fan. Jake of course lets the ribbing of his team mates dictate how he handles what he wants with Chelsea. Chelsea just feels like Jake is way out of her league. Can Keara bring these two together and if so, will some turns in events bring them closer or tear them apart? Great job by Cassidy O'Connor on a fast moving love story.
This story brought to light a real issue in todays society and it doesn't only occur with famous people it happens with average people to the problem is judging people by their appearance and not who they are... Keara's mission this time is to help Jake see that his mate is right in front of his eyes and ignoring his connection to her is also having a negative effect on his game... She needs to get him to follow his heart and not what everyone else thinks....
I love this book as it is funny, emotional, touching and Jake makes your heart melt. Jake goes through many inner struggles while all the time he knows what he wants just not sure he should go after the woman of his dreams. I love the influence of the Irish Feare and her part in bringing them together.
This book was also a fast read but it was a great continuation of the fist book.
We get to find Keara on her second assignment and that it is not a easy as the first one. I loved that she ran into a few problems and had to try and make up for mistakes.
This one left it open and left you wondering what would happen in the next book.
This was a great read about a baseball player who falls in love. He is ashamed to let his fellow teammates know because he is afraid that they will make fun of the fact that she is a little bigger then what they are used to. Despite everything that happens this book will take you on a wild ride of emotions. I have found a new author that I will be stalking until the next book comes out!
This is the third book in the Love's Protector series (#0-#2). Finally there was one I enjoyed reading. Keara basically got this one right...for the most part. Jake was having a difficult time blending the expectations that everyone had of him with what he wanted. Really, all it took on Keara's part was a small push and encouragement that the people that REALLY mattered just wanted him to be happy. No matter what! Chelsea was what made him happy. Even if she didn't fit the size 0 expectations. She was funny, sweet, compassionate, made him laugh and feel good, was beautiful inside & out. Keara did louse this job up too, but not in AS major a way (as far as I was concerned). She did try to use jealousy as a means of getting Jake to act. That is never a good motivator in relationships! Stupid! Perhaps lack of actual relationship experience on her part. Regardless, it was not, and is never, a good idea. Luckily it didn't matter and Sam invited himself to the 'baggie barbecue' to get time with Chelsea. Keara's other oops was her usual focus on self-gradification taking over and resulting in Chelsea almost getting accosted at the ballpark! Bad day at the office Keara!
I will admit that I liked this book overall, and chalked Keara's mistakes up to it just being Keara at this point. Hope you enjoy it more too!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A lovely little romance A charming fairytale Keara (fairy godmother) and Jake’s team manager help him find just the right girl. Chelsea who is sweetheart all curvy and shy is just what attracts Jake. Will a little magic do the trick? I loved this fantasy it was a fun read and well-written. If you want something different pick this one up. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Title: Much Better! Finding His Swing by Cassidy K. O’Connor
Reviewed by S. Davis February 16, 2015 10 p.m.
Having read the first book in Cassidy K. O’Connor’s Love Protector Series, I can say that the second book in this series, Finding His Swing, is a definite step-up. Much like the first book, the sequel involves Irish mythological folklore, including faery queens and protectors sent to help men with their relationships. This is certainly a unique story and I am looking forward to seeing what O’Connor does with the rest of the series.
Finding His Swing is narrated from three different points of view, which is much different than the single narrator from The Evolution of Sam. The reader receives more of Kaera’s voice, who is the newest faery sent on missions to guide different men into the arms of their respective soulmates. I found that this book was much more interesting to read than the first because I was able to see the same situation through different eyes, thus compelling me to read forward. That being said, I really enjoyed the voice of Chelsea, who is the soulmate in question of the novella, and I like how O’Connor incorporated her into the narration.
There were many grammatical and technical mistakes, which made the story hard to read sometimes. However, as I said, the plot itself has a curious way of grabbing your attention and keeping it throughout the story, so you’ll never be bored when reading it.
O’Connor definitely has talent as a writer. All in all, Finding His Swing was a much better and interesting read than The Evolution of Sam, but the stories seem to improve with each novella that O’Connor comes out with!
I’ll give Finding His Swing 3.5 out of five stars!
Baseball star Jake Reynolds is in a hitting slump, one that may or may not have to do with his curvaceous number one fan Chelsea Simmons. The woman Jake hasn't been able to get out of his head since she won a contest to meet him on the field. The problem is Jake is afraid that Chelsea's curves might make her stand out amongst his teammates and their wives and how that might affect Chelsea if they were to pursue a relationship together. He isn't sure he can put Chelsea through that just because he can't let her go.
Chelsea couldn't believe it when she won the chance of a lifetime to meet her favourite baseball player Jake Reynolds. She had no idea that with that one meeting she would send Jake a curve ball he never expected (no pun intended...OK maybe a little.). Can Jake and Chelsea overcome their obstacles and prove that when you're dealing with love, it's up to you whether or not you hit it out of the park ;).
This was a really sweet, baseball romance that is easy to enjoy. I am not going to lie, there were a few times that I was offended on behalf of Chelsea at Jake's inability to get over what every one else thought and affirm his feelings for her, but the overall outcome of this story left me feeling happy and I'm sure it will for you too.
Keara has been given her second mission from the Laochra Gra – Jake, a famous baseball player who has it all. He’s already met his soul mate in the form of his #1 fan, Chelsea, but he is convinced he can’t have her because of how she looks. He finds her beautiful, but her friends only see her as fat.
Jake is having issues with his batting and Keara is sent as a therapist, of sorts, to try to help him out of his slump. He already knows what his problem is – he wants the girl but the team won’t approve. Can Keara convince him to go after what he wants despite what the others may say?
Another GREAT story from this awesome author. Yes, some may say Jake’s reasoning is shallow and makes him an a**hole, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case here. Finding His Swing is a continuation of the Love’s Protector series and could be read as a standalone, but the others are just as amazing so why not do yourself the honor? Dive into the world of the fae warriors.
Finding his swing was very sweet with a touch of steamy. Keara helps Jake realize what is truly important to him. I enjoyed watching him open himself up to Chelsea and the future they can have together. It's interesting seeing Keara's story unfold in the background while she plays match maker. Looking forward to the next segment in the series.
Keara was on her third job for the queen. Jake was having issues with baseball and his fear of what others would say if he dated someone that was not the perfect size. Keara was sent in to help him. I love reading this series and can't wait for the ne t book
