Incoherent Word-vomit

I feel the previous volumes in this light novel were generally well written and translated.

This volume, however, is a chain of incoherent paragraphs jumping around aimlessly without purpose.

2.5/5.
I just admit that this was my least favorite volume so far. Yen On delayed the release date for months! And when I finally got it and then finished it, I was very disappointed.
Volume 6 was probably my favorite, since we got to know what happened in the Great War and we had these amazing characters that I fell in love with.
But this one was so weird from start to finish. I mean, I love Shiro and Sora and I am willing to read their story and how they will win all the games in order to change Disboard, but to me, this volume had not only a complicated game, but also a cliffhanger that did not save it.
I really don't care about Ino or the Shrine Maiden and that Wildbeast Old Deus seems troublesome.
I've always had a love/hate relationship with Jibril and Steph is just there, you know. The other girls too, they're so many characters now that are kinda just 'meh' to me at this point.

Anyway, I reeeeaaaally hope volume 8 gets better but I think it will be a long wait since it will be released in march *sigh*.

Normally I really enjoy the complex games and scheming, but this volume was overly confusing in several aspects. Namely with the rules for the game with the Old Deus, and although I'm sure that was intentional, it was very irking and I had to re-read the rules a few times to get it.

I also had an issue with the translation. Sometimes you couldn't really tell which character was talking because there were very few dialogue tags. Most of the time I could tell because they all have such distinct ways of speaking, but in this volume, it was particularly confusing.

Overall, it was pretty fun and unpredictable though! And that cliffhanger! I have no idea how the siblings are getting out of this one! (And it's nice to see Jibril's meaner side...) Will soon start volume 8!

-Old deux.

-Chlammy Zell/Kurami Tseru.

Shiro, once... No tenemos tiempo... para esperar... esta vez…”
—”¡¿Q-quééé?! Número tres, Stephanie Dola. No quiero morir. Me opongo firmemente…-”

Medidas (busto/cintura/cadera): media: 77.2/59.873/78.23. Relación (menor): 61.1%,
hermana menor: 48.4%,
pechos grandes: solo 3.2%.
—¡Conclusión!. “……Me alegro tanto… Hermano… de que seas… un… ¡lolicon total!”

—”…Y… mientras… me lavas… el… pelo… Desata… tu… deseo… reprimido… en mí…”
… ¿Eh?
—”……Viólame… Será como un doujinshi…”

Solid volume with Sora and Shiro challenging a god(Old Deus). That cliffhanger alone makes me really want to read volume 8 ASAP. The name of the game this time is Sugoroku mixed in with a memory gambit. At first, it may seem a little difficult to following especially since the rules of the game are continuously cryptic. However, this simple board game quickly turns into something of the last man standing and the winner takes all(survival). I really loved seeing Feil and Chlammy returning to take advantage of the situation in vain going against the King of Darkness instead(Plum). However, what I really want to know, is what is up with Jibril as her actions are heavily cryptic, suggesting she knows alot more. Specifically, the events that happened in Volume 6. I wonder if the [Great War] game is supposed to serve as a rehash or a correction to volume 6. Either way, can't wait to read the next volume (-_^)b.

This volume was quite the disappointment for me, especially considering the cliffhanger from vol 5 and how amazing vol 6 was. Vol 7 finally starts the fight between 「」 and the most powerful opponent possible in terms of the series.... which turns out to be a simple dice-rolling board game.

Sure, even that has potential but the writing here takes a humongous nosedive with a majority of pages filled with nonsensical outbursts by Sora complaining about the unfairness of the game and even devolves to word vomit at parts.

It was really quite hard to read this volume to the end given that it feels entirely like a filler before the climax. The story only picks up at the last 30 pages or so, which leads to yet another cliffhanger. Honestly, the volume could've been shortened 80% ....

Hoping the next volume actually picks up to the quality of the first 5 at the very least....

DNF @ page 40.

After my success of finishing the latest vol of So I'm a Spider I was pretty excited, sure I'd be able to actually enjoy reading and finishing books that weren't web novels. But then i started reading this and it occurred to me, do I actually like this series? I like the premise, I like some of the games, but I've also not enjoyed vols of it too. I've been struggling with a loss of interest in things, but after really thinking about it I can say with some certainty, I don't really like this series. So I'm dropping it and won't be ordering the next vols. It's time to move on. It helps that this vol was clearly a hot mess.

There is one word that comes to mind when reviewing this volume confusing. I know it was meant to be like that because of the nature of the game but it made it so difficult to actually understand what was going on. I found myself rereading certain parts to try to figure out just what and why things were happening.

Once i finally started understanding things about halfway through I enjoyed the story, not as much as the previous ones but I never had to force myself to keep reading it just took some more brain effort to understand the rules this time. Plus the cliffhanger is pretty steep so once i get my hands on volume 8 i will be sure to read it.

I have waited for nearly two years as volume 7 was delayed again and again. Now that it's finally out I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. The story is at times very confusing, and seemingly purposely so which annoyed me, also it's not nearly as fun as earlier volumes, the first volumes are among my favorite light novels.

Two and a half stars, rounded up to three to be nice.

Very hard to follow at start but then it gets better and better, Sora and Shiro get ahead of themselves, they are playing people at the start but then realize that they are in real danger this time ,betrayal ,change of minds everything that make no game no life good and even more

Journey, old age, youth, endless tabletop games...

So far, the most tedious volume, honestly. It felt like the game was never going to end, but it was still incredibly funny to see the characters interact as if they were in a giant game of Monopoly.

So basically it’s like this: is a game of extreeeeeeeeeeme sugoroku and, for Sora and Shiro, puts them up against, excluding Staph, their gang to reach the final destination where the challenged unnamed Old Deus loli awaits.

In my perspective, I thought this volume was quite good, liked the abrupt craziness of the two introverts adapted to become extroverts just to beat the game that’s set on a floating landmass game board. There are some golden quotes of pure nonsense to be read as well if you like that sort of stuff.

However I have to point out, that this volume wasn’t exactly an easy read, you have to read very carefully, if not several times, to understand what’s the heck is going on because the plot turns and twists unexpectedly, feels like reading a manuscript for a manga or anime, which would make sense if the adaptation would come sooner or later. *Cough, season 2 please, cough.*

Jumping back into the present time with this one, I personally think this arc was pretty cool bit long, spanned two books and covered a board game scenario. I liked the memory loss and betrayal scenario that follwed the whole story along and the inner conflict with Jibril. If my memory is correct than it ended with a clifhanger I think, I'm just happy it was a engaging as it was, some of the previous books were a drag to get through.
