Bad Intentions is a story about finding yourself. About taking risks, taking chances and being bold. It’s about a girl who felt like she lost everything in life going her own way and finding out there is more out there left to dream and there’s a whole different world right in front of her.

Adaley Knight was on the fast track to be an Olympic gymnast. It’s all she’s ever wanted, all that she’s worked for. When that dream is pulled out from underneath her, she moves cross country for college leaving behind everything and everyone she’s ever known. When she gets there, she quickly bonds with her fun and quirky roommate, Zoe and Zoe’s brother Tank. Zoe and Tank were quite frankly my favorite characters. Especially Tank. I adored him! I’m looking forward to reading his story :)

Back to Adaley- she is trying to find herself and making choices that aren’t really her along the way. When she meets Ryle Benson, she is immediately attracted to him. Then he opens his mouth. And he’s a huge jerk. But the more she gets to learn about Ryle, the more she sees him. Really sees him. His past, the reasons he is the way he is, that his heart is actually really big. Both of these characters have a past that they’re not very open about, and when things come to light, it’s not always pretty.

Bad Intentions is a book I had trouble rating. Because there were many good points- I love the authors writing, I loved the secondary characters lots, and even Ryle grew on me after a while. But I also had issues with the direction the story took. Not just the ending, which was a shocker, but the events leading up to the end. It really rubbed me the wrong way. The heroine made some choices that I ultimately couldn’t forget about and it changed my feelings for her. I adore Nacole and her writing style, and very much look forward to reading Tank’s story. Adaley and Ryle’s story had some good moments, but overall didn't work for me. Still- if you’re looking for a shocking, heart wrenching story that is high on angst and has some steam and humor as well, it may just be the book for you!

THREE I WANT TO BE BAD STARS.

"I’m careful, but I want to be reckless. I’m cute, but I want to be sexy. I’m innocent, but I want to be bad."

description

I love it when I get that full entertained feeling from the book that I'm reading. Those books where the author is able to spin a tale to the point where you have a desperate need to know what will happen to the characters, how will the story unravel, and will these characters finally find that ever elusive happily ever after? There is one thing that I couldn't possibly take away from this book and that is assuredly this author's ability to keep me glued to the pages and more than a little curious as to what journey she will be taking her reader on. This is my first book by this author and I can confirm to you that it won't be my last and although I had my more than questionable moments with this book I'm glad that I climbed aboard this Nacole Stayton crazy train journey.

What's it all about?
Adaley Knight has lived her life sheltered and overly protected by her close knit family. Ready to start afresh and live her life a little on the wild side, Adaley waves goodbye to her old life and is ready to welcome the new. Moving to a new town can be hard enough especially when it's time to start living a life that's out of the ordinary but this college student is anxious to leave her former life behind and embrace the new. First thing on the list; find a bad boy to practice being reckless and sexy with. Ryle Benson may act like he has no interest in the new girl that's just landed in his life, but he can't deny to himself that she has started to get under his skin. His talent on the baseball field means he has a bright future ahead but this imperfect bad boy has some secrets from his checkered past. Put together one good girl turned bad and a brooding sports star that is only looking to be good and you know that some serious sparks are about to fly. Jump
Into this new adult story and get ready for some college style romantic angst.

What did I love?
This author really had me confused over how to rate this book; there was lots to like about it, but I didn't feel convinced enough to hand out a higher rating. I have zero complaints over this author's ability to write in the new adult genre and I never felt indifferent or distracted from the storytelling itself so, for that alone I applaud Nacole Stayton. The book had an original slant to it, and the characters were definitely quirky and let's just say unforgettable. I liked the easy flow of the book and I enjoyed the friendship and camaraderie throughout the plot. I definitely didn't see some of the plot twists that Nacole planted throughout and there wasn't much predictable about the events that took place. I liked the entertainment value of the college scene that the author put together and I certainly appreciated the tale of a good girl gone wild and a bad boy with a golden heart. All in all this book was likeable and not for a minute did I regret reading this book. Here's to more from this author and those books that you won't ever be able to forget.

Why not five?
As much as I felt entertained by this short novel, I never felt fully connected to the romance or love side of the story telling. One of the winning combinations for a five star novel for my tastes is a love for the characters and an entertaining storyline. And whilst this author had me turning pages for more with her brilliant new adult style, ultimately I never felt I was able to fully fall in love with the main characters of the story and although I desperately wanted to I never connected with the hero or heroine of this book. As I've already said before one of the things I admired the most was this author's ability to compile a story and release it just the way she wanted, it had plenty of twists and turns and some unexpected events that will leave most readers ready to read more in this series. But for me my lack of connection with the characters meant that those wow moments and shock events had a bit of an anti climax as I didn't feel engaged enough to be too concerned. However I'm excited to read more from Nacole Stayton and let's face it that cover alone deserves a star all on its own.

Final thoughts ...
After finishing this book my first question to myself was; why have I not read this author before? Although this book won't be for every readers tastes, I love that this author believed in her story and wrote it exactly how she intended it to be. It takes some serious courage to write outside of the box and for that I applaud this 'new to me' author. If anything 'Bad intentions' has made me even more curious about this author and I'm looking forward to reading some more of her work. As for those readers who love the torturous adventure of a book that's filled with new adult romance then this will be the book for you. Enjoy ... Kisses.

Adaley Knight is a preacher’s daughter with a somewhat sheltered upbringing and broken dreams after a gymnastic injury ends her Olympic future. In search of a new life, she sets her destination south for college, away from home, where she meets her new roommate Zoe; Tank, Zoe’s brother; and Ryle, Tank’s friend.

Ryle Benson is broken and brooding. Yet Adaley feels an intense attraction towards him. I’m not going to spend a lot of time getting into the characterization because frankly in the end none of that seems to matter.

This started out as an engaging story that had a lot of potential; I was intrigued by Adaley and Ryle’s opening story and was pulled in right from the start. But unfortunately as the chapters progressed my star rating continued to go down. Issue after issue crept up. And there really needs to be a reader warning with this story: It does NOT have an HEA.

I avoid non-HEA stories like the plague. I know I’m not alone in saying that I like my stories to be an escape. If I want to read about a depressing ending I will pick up the newspaper, not my kindle. Time is precious and real life dishes out enough tragic events without needing it infused in a romance novel.
Which begs the question—how much romance is really in the story? Taking the book as a whole, I’d have to say not a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. It’s entirely possible this book suffers from an identity crisis in more ways than one.

For one, the narration seems to suffer an identity crisis, switching back and forth from first person POV (Adaley) to third person to describe Ryle. Why Ryle’s “sections” aren’t in first person from his perspective, I could never figure out. The third person narration in those parts made me feel disconnected to Ryle, were sometimes just creepy the way it described things—like a stalker observing the action; and had numerous grammatical errors with tense. One sentence was present, the next past.

Two, I could never quite identify if this story was meant to be young adult or new adult. While it frequently addressed mature themes and the characters were over 18, any romantic encounters were either watered down or “fade away” scenes. It probably would have been better to have embraced the “new adult” audience who have more life experience as I personally wouldn’t want any “young adults” coming away with some of the messages in this story.

Three, as far as genre goes, this is probably more of a coming-of-age story with some romance mixed in than it is a full-fledged romance.

Other problems that plagued the reading were as follows:

There were shadows of continuity errors in various places and I could never get a feel for the age/year of some of the characters. Adaley talks of how she “transferred” but it’s established as Fall and the start of her freshman year. Adaley arrives as the “new girl” with everyone else seemingly already knowing each other and their way around campus as if they’ve been there already so it felt like everyone else had to be at least sophomores, though I’m not sure they were supposed to be.

Both Adaley and Ryle come off preachy at times. Their combined attitudes (somewhat narrow minded views) of sexuality and substance abuse didn’t endear me to their characters. The word “butch” is thrown around far too much, mostly at places that seemed out of context on top of everything else.

Multiple times in the story a girl’s virginity is referred to as a “gift” to give a man. That didn’t exactly sit well with my feminist side.

Also disturbing is the depressing themes in a story that seems also geared to teens. At the end I felt like the message was that there’s no triumph in the face of adversity but dreams are still supposed to be obtainable. WTF?

As I mentioned before, a reader warning is greatly needed for several reasons. This story is NOT “safe” on multiple accounts. Spoilers to follow for explanation because some of us readers do like to know this before we waste our time….

I keep seeing posts for Bad Intentions on Facebook, and the first thing the author says is, “►Warning► This story is NOT for everyone.” She’s right. It’s not. It’s not for everyone, but for those of us it IS for, it’s a work of pure genius.

Adaley Knight had everything she ever wanted, until she didn’t. In the blink of an eye her life chances forever, her chance at the Olympics crumbles. The boyfriend she’s had for years, her squeaky clean parents, her entire life – it's all suddenly…wrong. In order to find herself, Adaley chooses to transfer colleges and winds up in Biloxi, Mississippi ready to live a little, to be the bad girl.

Ryle Benson is a college baseball bad-boy. Or so we’re supposed to think. He’s one of those misunderstood heroes. The kind I absolutely adore. When Adaley shows up he does everything he can to push her away. The last thing he wants to do is open up to her, to anyone. But Adaley has a way of wearing him down. There's something about her he just can't resist.

Sometimes you find exactly what you need in the most unlikely of places, or people.

“True love always prevails, Adaley. No obstacle is too big for love to overcome.”

Gah, this book broke me. It shattered me into little tiny Reni pieces, and guess what? It didn’t put me back together again. It didn’t, but it did leave me with a sense of peace. Makes no sense, right? Yeah, well, if you read what I did, you’d make little sense, too. Nacole is right when she says that this book isn’t for everyone. It’s not. But it is for those who love a story with substance, one that doesn’t follow the typical romance story formula. A story that captivates you and forces you to love the characters even when you want to hate them. During this read I wanted to hug my kindle, throw it on the ground and jump on it, cry on it, and then hug it again.

“This beats for you, and you only. No more secrets, no more pain.”

I can whole-heartedly say that I LOVED BAD INTENTIONS. I’ve been doing grabby hands for the next book in the series since finishing and can’t imagine they’ll stop anytime soon. My best advice? Be prepared for anything. Keep some tissues and a few items you don’t mind throwing close by. But most of all? Buy the book! Give Bad Intentions a chances. Sometimes intentions don’t work out as planned…

I went into this book completely blind. I saw the cover and the tagline, and was hooked.

“I’m careful, but I want to be reckless.
I’m cute, but I want to be sexy.
I’m innocent, but I want to be bad.”

These three lines caught my attention and I knew I wanted to read this. When Nacole Stayton offered me an ARC, I jumped at the chance to read it.

I have two words: Book. Hangover.

Those two words pretty much sum up my feelings on this. I read this three days ago and I’m just now sitting down to write this review. I just couldn’t move on. I finished this in one day and it was the very first thing I thought about when I woke up the next morning. I really enjoyed the style of the writing as well as the flow of the story. The characters are likeable and the sexual tension between Adaley and Ryle is off the charts.

Adaley is a girl running from her old life looking to be the polar opposite of everything she’s ever been and known. Ryle is a closed off bad boy who wants no part of a relationship. But what happens when they can’t resist each other anymore? You’ll have to read this a find out!

If you like angst, humor, and throw-your-reading-device-across-the-room moments, then this is the book for you. Bad Intentions will put you on a rollercoaster of emotions, so buckle up, hold on, and enjoy the ride.

I was given a copy for an honest review!!

This is my first book by Nacole, I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to go for it!! Holy smokes, I literally have found a new go to author! This story blew me away, I literally laughed, cried, and at times wanted to theow my kindle. For a story to bring that much emotion out of me I know it will be one that stays with me.

I really do not want to give too much away with my review, everyone needs to experience this amazing book! The writing was superb, pulled in from page one until the end. The characters were unbelievable, yes even the secondary characters brought something to the table. The chemistry was awesome, it literally draws you in and leaves you rooting for them.

This is honestly a book that will stay with me, the emotions that flooded through me was off the charts. I actually had to gather myself for an entire day before I could write this review. Nacole has a true gift of pulling you in and making you feel every word that she writes!!! She has now become a top new favorite author for me!!

I would without a doubt recommend this book!!! Everyone needs to experience this amazing read! I will now be not so patiently waiting for what Nacole has to come next!!

Nacole I am cursing your name right now. Cursing you for giving me such a beautiful love story, cursing you for the heartache of their fairytale, cursing you for the way you ended it. I feel like my heart was ran over by a wood chipper. What have you done to Me?

I haven't read anything by Nacole before, and now I'm asking myself why. This story was full of angst and just pulled so many feels out of me. You immediately hurt for Adaley and what she's lost. Hurt for the path she decided to take. But you meet these people along the way that sprinkle color in this bright new world of hers. Zoe and Tank were two secondary characters that always added to the storyline at the perfect time, brought a smile to your face, and perfectly supported our main Characters.

Ryle and Adaley both have pain in their past, and both are trying to live with how that impacts their future, and their future together. The way Nacole wove their stories together, through meeting in college, was perfect. She makes you feel like you're back to living in that time. Makes you remember that time in your life.

Nacole has such a great writing style. It's effortless and smooth, and realistic. I think this was a great book. 4 ⭐️

Summary

She’s careful, but wants to be reckless.
She’s cute, but wants to be sexy.
She’s innocent, but wants to be bad.

When ex-Olympic gymnast, Adaley Knight wakes on her eighteenth birthday she only has one wish, to leave the only town she’s ever known and start fresh.

Finding herself enrolled at a college across the globe, the once modest Adaley is almost unrecognizable. Her new persona dances on the wild side by sinking her teeth into the first bad boy she sees. The only problem is he’s not the least bit interested.

Ryle Benson, baseball extraordinaire and brooding campus bad boy keeps everyone at an arms length. Things have never come easy for him and the last thing he needs is getting involved with any female.

The tables are reversed as she tries to be bad, tempting fate, and he tries to fight his. The push and pull is half the fun. But what happens when one pushes a little too hard?

What I Loved:
Adaley was a girl who thought she had it all figured out at a young age. When her dreams were no longer a possibility she wanted to be a different person and was tired of living her life safely. She decided to change colleges, dump her high school boyfriend, and experience college the way she wanted. She paid no apologies for her decisions and that is admirable. Adaley met Ryle her first day on campus and she new that bad boy was so the right type of bad she wanted. Even if her intentions were bad, (see what I did there?), she knew what she wanted and tried to go after it the only way her semi-sheltered self knew how.

Ryle was the moody bad boy with a very awful past. He knew with one look that Adaley would bring him to his knees, but he wasn’t sure if he was able to give her what she needed. So he tried to fight the attraction by being rude, and insulting. Eventually, after watching Adaley drink away her college experience the first few weeks, he had no more fight left to avoid the attraction. He knows deep down he doesn’t want a girl that appears easy because like Adaley, he too, knows what he wants.

Just as a note in general, Tank and Zoe are exactly the types of friends everyone should have. They were incredible secondary characters and I crave more from them.

What I didn’t Love:

Naomi. Plain and simple, she was a pain and I really wanted to tell her off myself. That’s all I got here.

Overall:

Sometimes you read a book and it just attacks your heart. Unrelenting. Unashamed. And unexpected. Bad Intentions is that book for me. Y'all really need to read this one. Its a reminder to me why I read books in the first place. That world that sucks you in completely, swallows you up and spits you out in whatever way it needs to unapologetically. Nacole Stayton is not afraid to go there. This one made my heart pound, my belly hurt from laughing, and sometimes cry. It was an attack of the sweetest kind. This is a story that needed to be told and it is going to stay with you for a while.

Nacole Stayton became an instant one-click author for me when she released The Upside of Letting Go in April 2013. With each book that she releases, I become an even bigger fan. Needless to say, I was thrilled to receive an ARC of Bad Intentions. Now here I am close to three weeks later, and I'm struggling to write my review. I just don't feel that it will do this book justice.

Bad Intentions gave me the BIGGEST book hangover, and it still won't get out of my head, and I've read several books since finishing this one. Nacole has once again done what she does best - gave us an amazing cast of characters and an incredible storyline that keeps you drawn in from the first page until the very end.

Adaley is a strong female lead. She leaves everything she knows behind in order to find out who she is when her hopes and dreams for her future coming crashing down around her. The only "serious" relationship she's ever been in was more of a comfortable friendship than anything else, so she's ready for something a little more wild. Enter Ryle Benson.

Ryle is a hot-shot baseball player, and oozes sexiness. He meets every criteria for the bad-boy type that Adaley is looking for, but he's not interested at all..............or so it seems. Ryle has had a less than ideal life, and has a hard time letting people in, but the more he's around Adaley, the more he begins to let his guard down around her, and soon they develop a strong friendship, which leads to a beautiful relationship.

The chemistry between Ryle and Adaley bleeds through the pages. As they get closer, they push the boundaries of their relationship, and almost seem to reverse roles. Adaley is still a virgin but wants everything with Ryle, while he has had numerous partners, but wants to take things slow with Adaley. As their relationship continues to grow, things seem to be going well until Ryle discovers something that he just can't let go because of issues from his past. Rather than discussing it with Adaley, he pushes her away, which sets a series of events in motion that greatly impact their lives. Will they be able to get through the pain that they've caused each other? Or has too much damage been done?

Bad Intentions will lead you on an emotional roller coaster, and will stay with you long after you're done. If you're looking for angst, humor, moments that leave you with your mouth dropping open and make you want to throw your Kindle, this book is for you. Highly recommend.

“My heart bursts with adoration for him. It’s true that I instantly felt attracted to Ryle, but I didn’t know that I would eventually have more feelings for him than just lust. I like Ryle Benson. I may more than like him….”

4 stars, not the genre I usually read, but with that being said I found the book intriguing and exciting to read.

She’s careful, but wants to be reckless.
She’s cute, but wants to be sexy.
She’s innocent, but wants to be bad.

***A mature YA novel intended for readers 16 and up.***

Without giving too much away I will say this book will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. The relationship between Ryle and Adaley is frustrating at times but so much fun. There’s so much witty back and forth between the two and the emotional struggles that they go through is beyond. I really liked this book, great great job!!!

Received ARC for honest review for my blog Southern Vixens Book Obsessions

This is the first Nacole Strayton book that I have read and I have to say… whoa. This book had a lot of inner turmoil both on Adaley and Ryle’s sides. You find Adaley trying to break free from the past that tried to define her and she meets some amazing people along the way. The secondary characters played so well off of the main storyline. Zoe is the best friend you always wanted and Taylor… well he’s Taylor.
I enjoyed the struggled yet the fight with Adaley as she went through the motions of trying to break free from the shackles of her past even if it goes too far at times. She was a very complex character with a lot of layers. You could feel that instant spark between her and Ryle even though Ryle fights it tooth and nail. Ryle is such a strong yet fragile character. His history made him who he was and it was heartbreaking. He has such a rough side yet heart melting with his actions.
I found that this book was very well written and flowed nicely. Nacole wove a story that felt so true to life that I couldn’t put it down. I devoured this book in a few hours. This book had so many moments where I was swooning, yelling and lots of crying. My heart couldn’t take it but I can’t help but love the emotions that Nacole drew out in me in this book. To me that is the sign of an amazing book. I highly recommend it to everyone!

This is my first book by the author and what a great read it is.
The story was really gripping and I fell in love with the story and writing.
The story was very emotional in lots of different ways. I found myself laughing, upset, happy and angry all in one go. There was a lot of angst going in with the characters throughout the story and the story was a very unexpected rollercoaster of a journey.
I fell in Iove with both main characters. Adaley and Ryle. There are both very different people but have a great connection.
Adaley is a strong character who is looking or something different then what she's already got. She wants something different in her life, some adventure and order in her life.
Ryle is what Adaley is looking for. He's the big shot basketball player, but he's had a hard life and is broken and angry at the world.
Ryle has no interest in Adaley, but slowly she works herself in to his life and slowly changes him. Watching their friendship develop and relationship start to develop was special and I enjoyed the journey.
The author did a great job at pull out the emotion of both the characters. She made you feel that you was part of the story and knew how to bring the emotions out of the reader.
I liked the push and pull between the characters and the angst. The secondary characters also added a lot to the story and made the main characters standout.
This story was a unexpected great read that I'd defiantly recommend.

Adaley had her life mapped out for her; gymnastics, gymnastics and gymnastics. Until an injury turned that dream into a nightmare and she decides she has to escape her safe boyfriend and preacher father and go to university away from anyone she knows. When she gets there she meets her match in the form of Ryle. A guy she feels instant attraction for but who by his own admission is bad news, with demons he doesn’t want anyone to know about. Will these two help fix each other or will they tear each other apart?

“I’m frightened that he—anyone—will see me for what I am. A poser. A girl who’s desperately trying to be something she’s not.”

This was a really enjoyable read; it was entertaining, thrilling, funny, romantic and with an absolute shocker of an ending that you will never see coming!

“He was no longer a scared little boy fighting through the depths of other people’s depravity just to survive. He was Ryle Benson, baseball extraordinaire. He was a survivor.”

I did love Adaley’s character, she was brave and had courage in her decision to move away and start new and she wasn’t going to let anyone walk over her. She had a fierce and sassy personality that was easily likeable. There were some moments when I wanted her to be stronger and stand tall like she had been but these moments were rare and she always came back to her independent and strong character. Her story moved me, I felt her pain when her dream died and I admired her drive to still make something of her life!

“Our story is just beginning. Don’t ruin it with tales from the past,” he rasps into my ear.”

I adored Ryle!! I loved his moody side, I loved his funny side, I loved his caring side. He was complex but with very good reason and the broodiness just made him intriguing and sexy. Yes supporting characters were great as well! I loved the brother and sister; they added some much needed lighter elements to the story and I’m actually really excited to get Taylor’s story.

“We can’t stay broken forever. I won’t make it through another day without you. We can’t sort this out together unless we forgive one another for our mistakes.”

The plot was unique in a way; I had never met a character with Adaley’s back story. The romance side was both sweet and sad, exciting and unexpected and we had little bits of everything; drama, laughter, sadness and the complete and utter surprise of an ending. I have to say I didn’t love the ending, I understand why the author wrote it that way but for me it was too sudden, there was no build up and it happened in the last page of the story…just like BANG, there’s the ending and then epilogue.

“My heart was black before you came into my life. It was tainted by a past that taught me far too much about life in a short period of time, but you changed it back to a vibrant red.”

Overall though this was a perfect summer read for those wanting a romance with an edge.

What a journey Bad Intentions takes the reader on!

We meet Adaley as she's leaving home and about to start a new chapter in her life. She needs to get away from her past and her town and everyone looking at her waiting for her to fail after her injury. When she shows up to college, she never expected such a crazy first few weeks, and she definitely wasn't expecting to meet Ryle.

Zoe, Tank, and Adaley quickly become friends, but Adaley is drawn to Ryle, even though everyone warns her off of him. Ryle is standoffish, and a class A jerk when it comes to Adaley. The way he talks to her, and the way he treats her, I couldn't figure out why she was so drawn to him. But soon you start to see that Ryle is paying attention, he is just as drawn to Adaley as she is to him, but Ryle fights it tooth and nail.

I really enjoyed getting to see Ryle and Adaley open up to one another and start to move forward, but it felt like for every step forward they took a few steps back. At times I got annoyed with them, but in the end I loved them together. Both of these characters do some stupid things in this book, but together they learn to move forward and forget the past.

Not only is this a beautiful and heartbreaking love story, but it is also about Adaley learning to move on with her life and figure out who she is, and for Ryle to learn to let go of his past and be happy with where his life is now. I also really enjoyed Zoe and Tank's parts in this book. Both of them were amazing friends to Adaley and really helped her figure out who she was as well. Tank is quite hilarious and truly loved Adaley as if she was his own sister. The things he does to get her to open up is awesome, and he's an all around amazing guy. Zoe is kind of crazy, but she is there for Adaley even when Adaley doesn't ask for help. She stands by Adaley and is a force to be reckoned with as well.

Adaley and Ryle's relationship isn't easy, but it's beautiful, and it will destroy you when you read it (trust me). There are characters that I despised (Naomi and Mark) and others that I truly adored. This is a beautiful story of self discovery, first loves and learning to let go. I will admit I was initially drawn to this book because of the cover, but the words in this story are absolutely beautiful. This is the first book of Nacole Stayton's that I've read and I will definitely be picking up more by her!

This is the first book that I have read by Nacole Stayton. Although I did enjoy this book, I would like to read more of her work to see how her writing style has developed.

She’s careful, but wants to be reckless.
She’s cute, but wants to be sexy.
She’s innocent, but wants to be bad.

Adaley Knight dreams of making it to the Olympics as a gymnast, but when an injury derails her, she decides that she need a change in her life. She drops her high school boyfriend and heads across the country to begin college in a new city. She is ready to spread her wings and have the life that she wants. She is no longer cautious, she wants to have fun and be the life of the party. She grew up as the preachers daughter and she is ready to make a change and change she does. Adaley sets her sights on campus bad boy and baseball extraordinaire, Ryle Benson.

Ryle Benson has not had an easy life. He knows what he wants, but he doesn't like how Adaley flaunts herself and he finds himself fighting the attraction that he has for her, but he can only hold back so long. He is the typical brooding, bad boy that all the girls lust after. He is a broken character, but he has a soft, sweet caring side to him.

The chemistry between Adaley and Ryle is sizzling. You watch them go from being friends to being a couple. When wrong things are said and wrong actions are taken, they find themselves broken apart. Will they be able to work through all the hurt, heartache and anger to find their way back to one another or will it be their end?

I thought the characters were fairly well developed. I loved the secondary characters! I cannot wait for Tank's story. Adaley and Ryle's story is filled with plenty of angst, heartache and humor and the craziest ending that I did not see coming. If you are looking for a book with a roller coaster ride of emotions than this is the story for you. It gives you the feels but then leaves you wanting to throw your reading device across the room.

I stayed up until midnight finishing this book last night, and let me tell you. I have a major book hangover. I absolutely fell in love with this story, and Nacole, I told you earlier that you killed me with this ending! How could you!?

Adaley is trying to break free from the past that is suffocating her in her in her small hometown. After leaving her family and exboyfriend at home, she enrolls in a college hours away and she is a complete 180 of how she was at home. Adaley is a complete party animal, with a wild side that includes dancing on tables. She is looking to sink her teeth into the first bad boy she sees, but the only thing is, he wants nothing to do with her.

Ryle is the baseball legend and campus bad boy, he wants nothing to do with Adaley.. Or does he? He knew the moment that he saw Adaley, she would be the one to bring him to his knees, but he does not think he is what something like her needs. He tries to push her away by being insulting and rude, but all that does is push Adaley to drink and act out even more to get his attention.

The chemistry between Ryle and Adaley is so palpable that it has you turning the pages even faster to see what is going to happen next. One thing that I liked about Adaley is that she stands up for herself. She doesn't take crap from Naomi, and tells her how it is. I know I say this all the time, but I absolutely need friends like Tank and Zoe. Those two kept me laughing through the entire book, but they were serious to help Adaley when it was needed.

This book will lead you on an emotional roller coaster. I found myself laughing out loud, tearing up from some of the situations, and cheering on Adaley and even Zoe! You will not see the ending coming in this book and it will leave you in a serious book hangover. I hope to see Zoe have her own story one day! This is definitely a must read!

4 ½ out of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this story. Adaley is a super naive girl who is a preacher’s daughter and former gymnast determined to change her ways and find her real self while going to college away from home. Ryle is the epitome of a bad boy - at least that’s what everyone thinks. He had a very rough life until he was adopted in his teens. When Ryle and Adaley come together it’s crazy and most of the time they pretend to hate each other.

The best friends - Tank & Zoe - are the best, best friends I’ve read in quite some time. They are so hilarious and totally make the story that much better! When Tank surprises Adaley with a trip to the alligator farm one time, this was just one of the many times he made me laugh out loud:

“First let me say that was totally hot and if you weren’t off limits, I would lay you down and hump your leg like a German Shephard right now.”

But then he turns right around and says something serious and tries to help Adaley realize that Ryle really does have some kind of feelings for her:

“And secondly, he’s showing you affection. It means something. I know it does. He’s different when you’re around.”

The sweet moments are few and far between in the beginning of their story, but once Ryle admits his feelings things are so different:

“Because I’m absolutely in like with you. It’s maddening. I don’t know how to act or respond in this situation, because I’ve never been it it. Not one time in my entire life, have I ever had to worry about the feelings of someone else.”

I really just fell in love with all of these characters and think that Ms. Stayton did a wonderful job of telling a story that many people would be able to relate to. I know some will not like the story, but if you give it a real shot and think outside of the box, you’ll see just how much your emotions can be involved in a storyline.

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was a cute, sweet read. I laughed, I cried, I felt joy and I felt sorrow.

Adaley was always the good girl so when she goes off to college, she was determined to be a little wild, a little reckless. While reading, I could see a little of myself in Adaley at that age. It was a little reminiscent.

Ryle was so mysterious to me. I was constantly asking myself why is he doing this and while is he acting this way. It kept me want to know more and more about him. I really loved the secondary characters, Tank and Zoe. Those two were hilarious and I hope to read more about them in the future.

Gah!!! The ending!!! It wasn't the ending I was hoping for but I can't fault the book for that. Even after having finished the book, I am still thinking about it so mission accomplished! The book had such a fantastic message of following your dream and never give up.

I really enjoyed the storyline. I kept wanting to know more about all the characters and it was entertaining. It switched character POV through the story but sometimes got confusing with the transitions, or lack there of, between characters. I would put this book in between YA and NA. There wasn't anything to heavy as far as sex goes. I did find some of the dialogue to be a little immature, but these are also 18-19 year olds so it kind of fits. If you are looking for a cute and funny read with a good message I would recommend this book.

ANGST! This is a book filled with ANGST! Adaley and Ryle are complex and complicated characters with interesting back stories and lots of drama. Ryle is a bad boy who wants to be good. He is working hard to reform himself and fulfill his dreams of professional baseball, proving himself to everyone around him. Adaley is a former Olympic caliber athlete and preacher’s kid who wants to try on the bad girl label for just a little while.

Adaley and Ryle find something in one another, a kindred spirit and the hope that things will get better and they can be who they are really meant to be. The push and pull as they come together – and then apart – and then together – and then apart, is the bulk of the story. I liked Adaley and Ryle and though I wish their stories and experiences had been even further developed (because there is a LOT there) I was pleased with the bulk of the story. There is some really great banter that is enjoyable, and a cast of supporting characters that are super fun and interesting.

BUT, be warned. There is a surprise ending. The book takes a couple of unexpected twists at the very end and to be honest, I wasn’t happy about that. Be prepared.

If you’re looking for an angsty, coming of age, new adult drama with witty banter and good characters – this is a solid choice. But, you’ve been forewarned!

An ARC was received in exchange for an honest review. BFF Book Blog also uses a set of icon ratings. This book received additional ratings for supporting characters, angst, romance and tears.

Wow! I have been a huge fan of Nacole's writing since she released her first novel, The Upside of Letting Go. Her writing abilities continue to impress me and each story is better than the last. Bad Intentions is a gripping tale of just how wonderful yet how cruel life can be. An emotional roller coaster that will have you laughing out loud at the silly banter between Ryle and Adalay, swooning over Ryle, wanting to punch Adalay in the face for some of the decisions she made, and ultimately leave you blubbering, snotty mess with an ending that no you will not see coming.

I connected with the characters fairly quickly and felt so deeply for them. Adalay's past is discussed early on in the book, while Ryle divulged a little bit about himself at a time, keeping me fully submerged in the story, curious as to what he would reveal next and where their journey would take them. They were well developed and likable. the plot in this story progressed nicely and was well thought out.

That ending though. It killed me. But you know what? Kudos to Nacole for writing their story...the way that Ryle and Adalay intended for it to be told. Im sure it was outside of her comfort zone and she did it anyway. With finesse. And in my opinion, thats what makes a great writer. I finished this story days ago and i still can't get it out of my head.

You can bet that I will be harassing Nacole for Tank's story. Because that is coming next. And when you read Bad Intentions, you will see for yourself just how hilarious he is. Go ahead and one click.

This is not the first book that I have read by Author Nacole Stayton, and it will not be the last. I was drawn into Adaley and Ryle’s story and fell in love with these two characters along with the supporting characters as well and it makes me want their story as well.

Adaley Knight does not want to be defined by her past as a gymnast. She is no longer that, and she doesn’t want to be judged as just the Preacher’s daughter either. She wants to live a little, be a little bad, and what better way to do that than to get away from the life that you have known and the long time best friend/boyfriend and start new. In a new college and town away from the old life. But when she runs into one of the hottest guys that she has seen and sparks fly for her can she attain the unattainable bad boy baseball star Ryle Benson?

Ryle Benson never had an easy life. He grew up in a bad situation until he was adopted by his loving family. But He know what he wants out of life and he knows that he will do anything to get it, until the day he laid eyes on Adaley Knight. Now this temptress is bring out feelings that he thought he pushed away and is making him want her, but will he give into his wants and get the girl or will he push he away like all other girls?

This book will take you on a ride of emotions and trust me I never saw that ending coming. But to me the story is well worth the ride. I really can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other characters.

Adaley Knight is the preacher daughter and her life spin around gymnastic. When she suffer an accident that keeps her from doing gymnastic her life is thorn apart in pieces. Now in her eighteenth birthday she is determined to have a new life as she leaves for collage. She wants to experience everything she hasn't and become a new person.

In collage she meets Ryle. He is a bad boy but also very reserved. When they met the attraction is clear but he is everything she wants to experience and she is everything he wants to avoid.

This book is the first I read of Nacole Stanton and t got me captivated since I read the blurb. I really enjoy it because is well written. The book is full of different emotions that will make you laugh, swoon and cry.

The character, specially Ryle will win your heart and will stay in your heart every time you remember or read this book. The secondary character like Zoe and Taylor will also win your heart and there is a purpose for them to exist. The author made an excellent book that even the details are good. It is a great book you need to read if you like romance and angst.

Looks can hide so much...

I couldn't put in words of what I thought about this book other than I loved it, but what I can is what the book showed, taught, and aspired me. Nothing lasts forever, even the best or good parts. Just gotta make the best of what we have in case it takes away from us in some blink of an eye. Friendships, true love, talents are the greatest gifts that we can receive and experience- if we get to keep them then we're more lucky than most. Nothing comes easy, but if we truly want it then we'll fight. And we wouldn't feel such burdens. I know what it is like to be judged and felt like a burden even for simplest things, I feel it basically on a daily basis. Bad Intentions showed me that people aren't what they seem on the outside, it can take going outside our comfort zone to find what we should be doing in the first place. Comfort zone is an easy place to fall into, but we should be truly LIVING not just getting by. I look forward to reading more stemming from the book.

It took me a few chapters to really get into this book. It felt like you were thrown right into the story with only a few details about Adaley and Ryle. After that the author does a good job with the flow and character development. You really start to get a better understanding of the characters. I started to really care about both of them. Each has their own flaws and pasts to try and overcome. It's a story about finding yourself even after you think your dream has been lost and taking chances on the unknown. Adaley learns how great life can be but also how cruel. This book was really shaping into a great one for me until the ending. It's a pretty horrible way to end the book for the reader. But I cannot let one part of the book override the positives. The characters were unique and the journey overall was a captivating read. received this book for free from United Indie Book Blog for an honest review.

What can I say about this book to do it justice? I mean truly give it what it deserves.

I love Adaley she is an amazing character and her relationship with Ryle made me want to keep reading. From the love, hate, love and hate relationship they have. Absolutely beautiful. Ryle made me mad more than once where I wanted to throw his ass an uppercut but after all when the relationship begins to blossom it becomes worth it.

Seeing how they love one another. Truly fall in love no matter what. It was breathtaking. To not spoil to much I just wanted to say that emotional roller coaster that is the writing of Nacole broke me apart. I was sobbing like a damn baby at the end. How beautiful, wonderful, the love of two people can go on.

Thank you Nacole for making such a beautiful book. If you do not mind laughing, crying and just wanting to punch someone off and on, this book is for you. I would love to see something with Zoe and Taylor spotlight in it. (fingers crossed)
