Shinobu Ohtaka (大高 忍, born May 9, 1983 Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese manga artist. She is best known for the creation of the manga series Sumomomo Momomo and more recently, Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic.
The conclusion to the fight with Gyokuen is nigh and you get to see the sacrifices made to try to overthrow her if you read this volume. In the meantime Aladdin and Alibaba are on their way to try to convince Hakuryu to see things their way but are in for a surprise as they find a fallen man bent on revenge and Judar gleefully pushing him to act. This leads to some fun Djinn equips as Alibaba takes on Hakuryu and some maddening magical effects as Judar takes on Aladdin in magical combat.
With all of the action scenes this volume will not take very long to read but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take your time to look at the oftentimes dark artwork as magic bends the world to the users will.
My favorite part would have to be when Alibaba is talking to Hakuryu just like old times until Hakuryu starts talking about war being essential and he seems to physically change as Alibaba tries to convince him there can be peaceful way to handle things before everything goes horribly wrong.
The art is insane and I love it. The plot is barreling towards what I'm sure will be an explosive ending, but the battles are getting a little drawn-out. Do you really need 100 pages (beautiful as they may be) to show a 20 second battle?
Hakuryuu is the new emperor of Kou Empire. As the new emperor, he decides to kill Ren Kouen so that he would complete his revenge and continue expanding the empire. At the same time, Aladdin and Alibaba visit Hakuryuu about Balbadd. At first, Alibaba thinks that Hakuryuu is still the same and that he would help him. However, he soon realizes that he has fallen into depravity and a fight breaks out. Alibaba fights Hakuryuu while Aladdin is trying to stop Judar. Though all of these characters are very powerful now, it is an important symbol since all of them have different motives and beliefs. All of them use their new powers and try to defeat each other. The majority of this volume is dedicated to this fight. I really liked this volume in general. We learn more about Hakuryuu's motives and it's great to finally see Alibaba having valid ideas. I am curious to see what happens next.
This is genuinely the coolest fight scene I've seen in a manga. If it were animated, it would probably be the coolest fight in an anime. This whole arc has been on a completely different level than anything in Magi so far.
Disclaimer: I watched the anime and needed to read the manga as I loved this story. Unfortunately, I binged every volume back to back each moment I was free so its hard to distinguish what happened in each volume.

What a fantastic volume, so much darkness building up and then an awesome confrontation! The battle at the end along with the supposed outcome, wow! Next volume please!!
This Manga starts our humorous. I really enjoyed the characters at the beginning. The farther you read the deeper the plots become. Enjoyable at the beginning, and a must read for the later books. I can NOT wait for books 27 + Characters are real and raw. Everyone has there faults and I feel the author/artist dose a wonderful job of bringing everyones points of view, twisted though they might be, in to clear focus.
(note: I wouldn't recommend this manga for young teens. I fine the sexual innuendos pretty funny as an adult, but not really appropriate for younger audiences. Also the plot gets pretty dark at times. )
Verdient mindestens 4,5. 5/5
