"Felix Lopez has studied Buddhist meditation and Pranic Healing in India and among the hill tribe people in Thailand. In Mindfulness, he distills that ancient knowledge into a contemporary prescription for joy, good health and ethical action so that readers can join him in the work.
With powerfully simple, beautiful writing— and stories about his own enlightenment — he creates a warm, personal connection with readers before launching into discussions of the emotional discomforts that occasionally plague us. When he adds the basic principles of Buddhist philosophy, the causes and solutions slip into sharp focus, becoming true “aha!” moments."
I picked up this book while finding new resources on how to be more mindful. I don’t know what makes Felix an authority on this topic, but this is a must have in my personal book stash. Felix provided some great examples on how to view different life situations. One of my favorite tidbits is to focus on the facts when about to get riled up. It’s something that helps me pull it back together when I’m getting upset and trying to draw my own conclusions. There were some moments when he begins to ramble on, but overall this is a useful tool for anyone looking for ways to better ground themselves.
