The First Pillar - Definitely a series you need to read in order. At first I was confused because there seemed to me so much back and forth in the story but by doing so it was really bringing you up to speed on how the book goes together. There are also great morals put into this book and how by being true to yourself provides better character and well deserved rewards. The characters are people you can understand and cheer for.
The City of Worms - This book was awesome in the way it continued from the previous. Being able to remain with the original characters and see their resolve to set things right. Of course the bad guys have their own twist where the character and choices they make affect how they view what they feel is right. And seeing how even those who made poor choices when they change their thinking and go back home that they are forgiven and restored back to their true selves also shows insight to a greater good with forgiveness and understanding. Our main character Owen is constantly put in situations where the faith of his friends and fellow adventures help to give him the courage to get things done and continue to stay true to himself with honesty and integrity.
The Rise of Mallory - As Owen continues his next search in keeping the peace and safety of lands through the realm, Mallory is training a new threat to take over the power he needs to control the element and the universe ultimately. Owen is tasked with a new challenge which tests his integrity and willingness to learn about a species who originally started the problems faced in the city of worms not knowing how much damage they caused in the first place of trying to save their Race. Owen learns and grows while also gaining patience and understanding. When the time comes to make the stand he is instrumental in bringing about the change required and the task set before him. In the end it pays off well including those who were returned from when they had disappeared or even died.

Now readers can experience the first three books of the Everville Series in this boxed set. First Pillar, introduces the protagonist, Owen Sage, and his college friends who are called upon to save the fantasy world of Everville from the evil, "Them." The saga continues in the second book, City of Worms, when the "Them" cause even more problems. The cast of characters expands as readers learn about the Marmooks and Ubaloo. The third book, Rise of Mallory, picks up after the last battle in Everville. Mallory, a Fron turned evil, tries to use a newly hatched dragon to initiate a war between the inhabitants of Everville and the creatures known as Alarians.
The strength of these books is the descriptive writing which allows readers to visualize the actions. It's also a novel idea to have the characters hop back and forth from the "real world" to the fantasy world of Everville. There is plenty of imagination and action in all three books. This series of good versus evil would appeal to readers who enjoy sci-fi fantasy books.

Bravo! A good fast read! now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this book.

The Everville Series by Roy Huff is a wonderful YA fantasy full of great battles, rich scenery and imaginative fantasy creatures. He has perfectly created an unforgettable protagonist in Owen Sage, college freshman and if this ever became a movie trilogy we would have a beloved star to fill an older Harry Potter's shoes.
Owen Sage knows he's different, for when he falls asleep he is transported to Everville a wondrous land under threat from evil creatures Them. He comes under the guidance of the Keeper, leader of the friendly race Fron and so begins Owen's fantastic journey from meek teenager to mighty warrior and savior of Everville. There is so much going for this book - the reader is dragged straight into the action with no fuss or tedious back story - the characters are so likeable we immediately root for them - the story is full of immense action scenes and unusual surprises, even back on Earth we gasp at Roy Huff's brilliant twists and continuation of the plot.
This is a superb kick-starter to a great series. Bring it on Roy Huff.

Fast-paced! Thrilling! Entertaining!
What most impressed me (as the author of two series of novels) is how the writing, the storylines and the characterizations get stronger as the “Everville: Books 1-3 Boxed Set” progresses, not weaker as is the case with many series. No mean feat as I know from personal experience as a writer.
This series is simply… scintillating!
