I had this book on my not released shelf and I really wanted to read it. So in the end I wrote to the author and requested an ARC. The lucky cow that I am I got it. 3.5 ‘Where there is water, there is paradise’ Stars. NA is usual hit & miss for me. More miss than hit to be honest. So I'm really glad that this is a winner.
Emilie Waters has moved to Rhode Island for college to start afresh from the life that she led in Nevada. Living by herself and making her way in life is important. She works hard and learns hard.
Ren Warren goes to the same college as Emilie does. I’d say that he is content but he knows that he is missing something. He gave up his dream due to tragic circumstances and regrets the consequences.
A chance encounter in a diner late at night leads to seeing one another again. Ren asks Emilie out, she agrees but is unsure why has she only does casual hook-ups.
Emilie is straight forward but in some cases she is downright mean. She pulls the friend card and Ren accepts. She then wants more bloody women can never make their minds up. But Ren gets under Emilie's skin.
They have both endured pain and loss and each of them have dealt with it differently. They try to forgive for both for different reasons. I’d say that Emile has more issues than Ren. She has always been alone and well she finally has someone who will take care of her.
I don’t want to give too much away so she comes to terms with her past and not all turns out well.
The writer deals with real issues that can happen in everyday life and she pulls it off in a tasteful matter.
There were certain, huh moments for me. Noel was an odd friend and some of the things she came out with, I don’t know I feel as if a friend wouldn’t say that. Ren’s ex is a fruitcake, certifiable and well twisted to do what she did.
I think that what happened to Emmy at the end was too much but it was the incentive for her to change her life.
This most certainly is an author to watch out for.

I couldn't believe how engaging these characters and the story in general were! And I swear, I was scared half to death by the first half of the last chapter. A+ ending, great book! It reminded me of Nicholas Sparks.

I got to about 10% (sampler) and had to DNF. I loved the premise, but this is written in dual POVs - where the same scene is recalled by the MCs. First we get Ren's POV in the diner, then we got Emilie's POV of same scene that Ren just experienced. Too redundant. I got the sampler and I am not going to pay $2.99 for a book that I am going to read every scene twice by both characters. I only read 10%, but that is how the first 10% read. There was a little bit added, but otherwise it was the EXACT same scene. If this was on KU, I would chance it and read more to see if the rest of the book was written like that, but I am not going to buy it and then have to contact Amazon for a refund on the $2.99. This is my opinion about the writing style from the 10% I read.
I love, LOVE stories like this. I love when the heroine is working as a waitress at a diner to get through college, but there are some writing styles I can not get past and this was one of them.

Fantastic!
I couldn't believe how engaging these characters and the sorry in general were! And I swear, I was scared half to death by the first half of the last chapter. A+ ending, great book! It reminded me of Nicholas Sparks.

Beautiful story
A MUST READ!!!!! This was such a beautiful story. It's about a lonely girl who meets a wonderful boy. Emilie is the lonely girl who meets Ren the wonderful boy. Emilie comes from a very abusive family. After her mother dies she is being raised by her father who resents her for being there and not her mother. She is an alcoholic and physically abuses her. She finally moves away to go to college and meets Ren. She does do relationships and only wants to be friends with aren but later realizes that she wants more and so does een. They make a beautiful couple. They support each other and show each other what love really is. This book is. HEA and it's just awesome!!
I know you will love this book as much as I did.

I first got the sample on Amazon and was intrigued by it that I decided to buy it, as I started continuing from the free same I felt like I started regretting my decision as Emilie came off as bit of a bitch. However, I persevered and continued reading, and I am glad I did. I enjoyed that Emilie and Ren slowly built their relationship from acquaintances, to friends, to best friends and to lovers. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for someone looking after a non dramatic (in the sense of relationship drama), quick and sweet read.

Such a sweet, emotional book! You'll fall in love with the characters and their sweet young romance. The ending makes the whole book!
