Hmm...I am not sure about the usefulness of this book. It did tie into The Power of Branding, a little, so... I do see and feel the need to develop a professional learning platform. I understand how social media can greatly influence that. It is a quick read so give it a go?

Quick read but thought provoking. How do leaders facilitate and engage in PD? Look to cultivate personal learning networks beyond your current situation.

I love the focus on principal's professional development as it is often neglected as they get consumed by busy schedules and demands. However, if principals/leaders are not learning, then their buildings stagnate as well. Tony Sinanis and Joseph Sanfelippo offer leaders both research-based evidence, sound advice and practical guidance on how to seek and design their professional development plans. As to be expected, both authors are huge advocates for connecting with educators on Twitter. However, they offer other digital media suggestions for connecting such as Voxer and Google + communities. Though I consider myself a well-connected leader, I acquired many great ideas from this book. I'm hoping to implement something similar to Sanfelippo's "My Three" with my department soon.

I would definitely recommend this book to any school/department leader who recognizes the importance of his/her continuous growth in the role.

I loved this book! So much for me to think about. Love that I get to chat with the author via Voxer every week. There are so many amazing principals and leaders out there who share and inspire every day!
