I had a hard time with this story. I didn't really connect with Lucy and Max as a couple. And I didn't really like Lucy by herself. I thought there was WAY to much insecurities between what was supposed to be two "alpha" personalities.

Max has always had a thing for Lucy but decided to marry someone he KNEW that he couldn't love the way she wanted. Lucy doesn't let people get close because of the death of her parents when she was a teenager. But when Max got engaged she moved to L.A. so she didn't have to see him (with his wife) anymore... blahhhhh

I thought this book felt rushed. Granted it was a novella, but you can tell that it was one. There was gaps in time that nothing really happened.

Lucy has always been in Love with Max - her brothers' best friend.
But he never seemed to see more in her than a little sister.
And when he got married a few years ago, she could't stand to watch it anymore and moved to the west-coast.
But then his wife died four years ago and now he's back to casual one-nighters.
Lucy only dates guys that can never hurt her - guys she won't ever fall in love with.

But now, suddenly, at her brother's engagement party in NY, Max is starting to flirt with her - flirting and kissing. And she brought a date to the party, too!!!

Max has always been in love with Lucy, but his fear of being disappointed or left by people he loves has always stopped him from being with her. That, and her being the little sister of his best friends.
But now even they seem to see how he looks at her and she at him.
With their blessing, he finally decides to make his move!

But of course Lucy thinks it's just fun for him, nothing serious ...

Time to prove her wrong...

WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO LUCY & MAX???
WILL THEY GET THEIR HEA???
WILL THERE BE A CLIFFHANGER o.O

NOPE..... I'm not telling you ☺

I LOVED THE BOOK!!!

This was a really cute and sexy romance.

It was so adorable to see those two trying to forget all about the past, and their fears and finally be together ... they could've been happily together for years already, if they just would've dared to do something about it back then.

But now they dare!

And it's verrrry sexy!

We go back to the island of Eden, to celebrate Lucy brother's wedding - and lots of sexy island things happen - but back home in NY, Lucy is trying to stay away from Max. Easier said than done, since she'll be working for him!

DARE TO SEDUCE was a really cute & sexy Romance!
Go and get your own dose of Max Savage!!!!

All is conveniently glossed over again like in the other one.

2nd very short novella I've just read by this author in a row.

2nd complete fail.

Max = disgusting loser who marries another woman, and after her, prefers to be a regular at a sex club & have one night stands for many years, rather than be with the woman he says he's always loved. Of course the idiot accepts all his bullshit.

She's just another doormat. Nothing more noteworthy to mention about her.

Not a chance in hell I'd ever forgive a guy for all that. No chance!

Well at least I gave this author a shot but I'm done with this nauseous series of manslut losers and doormats now.

Max is a delicious specimen of a book boyfriend, cooked up to feed your need for an alpha man.A simple, quick and easy read, Phillips gives you a fun story you can get lost in.

Max may own a restaurant, but Lucy has owned his heart ever since they were kids. Max has never been able to give himself to anyone else fully and it’s all Lucy’s fault. Well, actually it’s all Max’s fault because he never said a word…until now.

Too bad Lucy’s not looking to give up the reins to her heart – she’s been abandoned too many times to count – however, she has never quite been able to give up on her need for Max. He forces her hand when he offers her the career chance of a lifetime to design one of his restaurants…of course, he also plans to seduce Lucy with ever chance he can get.

There are sweet and cute moments in this book and it absolutely gives you what you want: hot characters, quick connection, friends to lovers, and searing chemistry. Max is a sort-of alpha male with dominant tendencies (he apparently used to go to a BDSM club) but he’s not really dominant. He is a bit overbearing…he says he’s going to move slow, but his actions are anything but. And yet, it seemed to work on him, so go Max.

Is the story super memorable? no, not really. But even still, I enjoyed the heat, fire and build of the relationship and found myself smiling as it all came together in a perfectly packaged HEA. 3.5 stars!

Kitty's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I love the Dare series and am excited for you all to get to know Max Savage. Now, Lucy, not so much since she just kept rubbing me the wrong way. Yes, this is the DARE series but Lucy Dare just didn’t do it for me until about 80% into the story. As for Max, well he had me at Hello.

Max sat back and ignored his feelings for Lucy for a long time. He fought the attraction then had to fight the guilt of a true mistake. Lucy just wouldn’t let go of the past and kept thinking that everything good in her life would come to an end. There were times in the story that I just wanted to shake her and yell “get over it already!” and really wished that Max would do that to her. But, Max being who he is, took the slow and steady route until her eyes were finally opened to what she was missing out on.

Carly Phillips has a way with words and bringing out the best and worst in each of her characters. Lucy just kept depressing me though … she had her good and bad moments and I hated the way she was thinking. Max was strong but vulnerable and I love that she brought out that side of him in the story. The one thing that disappointed me was Max alluded to how much he was into BDSM before Lucy and how it got him through his rough times but there was just some light bondage in the story. It would have been interesting to see him break her barriers with a night at Paradis but, she finally brought them down in another way that ended them with an HEA.

I am not one who normal picks up a book that is in the middle or end of series, but I have always heard great things about Carly Phillips books and the cover and blurb for Dare to Seduce caught my attention. I am a sucker for a forbidden Brother's Best Friend love story.

Now as with any interconnected standalone series, like this one, Each book can be read by itself, but to get the true feeling of the characters it is recommended to read the books in order. Now don't worry if you don't because this is the first book in this series I have read and I wasn't lost or felt like I was missing anything. Carly does a wonderful job keeping the reader informed about past couples or characters. I will admit however, that after reading this book I am definitely going back to read all the other books in this series. I fell in love with Carly's writing style and creative stories and lovable characters. Plus she knows how to write one steamy love story ;)

One thing I truly enjoyed about this book was that we get to the heart of the story right away. Carly doesn't add in extra details to the story. I find that refreshing :) This was also a fairly quick read written in dual POV. Also this book wasn't overloaded with outside drama. Any drama that was written into the story was caused by the fears or insecurities of the heroine. But what I loved the most was how Max stuck by Lucy no matter what. He wouldn't allow her to run away because of her fears. He helped her work through things. Truthfully they helped each other overcome past fears and pains.

In this story we follow the love story of Max Savage (Best Friend of Gabe and Decklan Dare, Lucy's brothers) and Lucy Dare. This is definitely a friends to lovers story, but in the end it is also kind of like a second chance love story. Lucy and Max have known each other since they were kids. Lucy of course has been in love with Max since then, but Max's feelings didn't truly grow until Lucy was older and returned home from College. Scared her brother's wouldn't approve Max fought his feelings. Some seriously tragic things happen, which intern keep Lucy and Max apart for years. Now Lucy is back for her brother Decklan's engagement party and Max isn't letting her slip through his fingers again. Can Max and Lucy finally give into their feelings and find their HEA?? You'll need to read this book to find out.

I would definitely recommend this book. If you are looking for a quick, sweet and sexy friend's to lovers story, then you don't want to pass this one up. I know after reading this book, I look forward to reading the other's in this series. Carly Phillips has definitely found herself a new fan :)

This one was a disappointment for me. It reminded me a lot of Bri Prescott’s story. Which compared to the brothers’ stories just doesn’t match up. I just found his reasoning for marrying someone else ridiculous. Older brother’s best friend was the same storyline as Bri. I know her book came later chronologically but I read the Dare Nation series before this one. It was still ok but the second book ( Declan’s) is the best in this series. I still have the original Dare series to finish. So far, the Kingston series has been my favorite of hers. Although, Sophie Eastlake (aka Julia Whalen) narrates this series so if you’re going to read this one, definitely do the audio. It’s available on Hoopla.

Lucy sure knows how to make her man react, “you, Max .” She threaded her fingers through his hair, her nails scraping along his scalp. He barely managed to stifle a groan. “While we’re here, I’m yours.” I loved this book Max was attentive, sexy and entertaining.

Lucy Dare has spent years trying to keep herself comfortably separate from those around her - her brothers, her cousins, her boyfriends. Max Savage is the one who won't allow her to be that way around him.

Max is the Dares' best friend and has been since they were kids. He has had a huge crush on Lucy since he knew what boys and girls do together, and, for fear of messing up his friendship with the brothers, never acted upon it. He even married someone he liked less just to try and get Lucy out of his system, and even that didn't work.

But, now Max has Lucy's brothers' blessing, so he's going for it. And when Max sets his sights on something, he gets it, no matter what. Max definitely was determined, too. Sometimes I wasn't sure why he tried so hard, because Lucy really was hard to break down.

Man - that woman was difficult to love. After losing her parents, she has decided that the best way to never experience that kind of hurt ever again is to never love someone that much again. So, she pulled away from her brothers and their new families and tried to be content living on the outside looking in. I had a hard time relating to that. I would think that losing your parents would make you treasure the family you have left even more, instead of the opposite.

Max is determined to finally get the woman of his dreams, so he keeps pressing on Lucy to open up and to be open to loving again. To her credit, Lucy tries hard. But, it's not something you either do or don't do. So, it's not as easy as either she or Max would like. There are lots of ups and downs as Lucy tries to find her way back to how she was before her parents died.

Max was awesome. I loved his strength and determination. I loved his friendship with Lucy's brothers. And I loved how he was patient with her. I had a bit harder time warming up to Lucy and relating to her situation, but there was never any denying that she and Max were perfect for one another.

This series continues to be amazing!!!

I adore the Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. Seriously don't want to do anything but read from the moment the book hits my kindle until I finish the last page every single time. Dare to Seduce was no different.

I've wanted Lucy Dare to get her story since we first met her in Dare to Surrender. She was so feisty and fun-loving, I couldn't wait to read her story. Imagine my surprise when we see Lucy again in Dare to Seduce and she was almost subdued rather than the vivacious person in the earlier books. I totally got Lucy and loved watching her turn back into the real Lucy Dare once she was back in New York and Max was back in her life.

I absolutely loved Max Savage from the moment we met him as well. I knew he was attracted to Lucy and totally understood his hesitancy based upon her brothers, not only being his best friends, but their protective nature when it came to Lucy. However, I knew Max and Lucy would be awesome together and I was so glad Max finally made his move.

Max and Lucy have amazing chemistry and it only grew hotter as they spent more time together. I loved that Max totally understood Lucy's fear of losing people and got that was the reason she kept her distance from her family and picked men she couldn't love in the past. As Max had a few abandonment issues himself from childhood, he not only understood Lucy, but had experienced those same feelings. I loved that Max was willing to be patient and respectful with Lucy's issues, while still showing her how much he loved her. Add in the absolutely smoking hot sex between them, and Max and Lucy are one of my favorite couples in the series.

Dare to Seduce is another winner in the Dare to Love series. While it can totally be read as a stand-alone story, I think readers will understand more of the family dynamics by reading Dare to Surrender and Dare to Submit first.

There are two things that I always expect from a Carly Phillips novel. A good story and a HOT read. I received an ARC of Dare to Seduce in exchange for an honest review.
The fact that it was a Dare story put my mind at ease. Her Dare family consists of stories that are not only sexy reads but have substance behind the characters and their wicked sex appeal. I liked Lucy and Max together. Lucy was a temptation that festered in Max's soul. Lucy was by no means a wide-eyed innocent but I think everyone underestimated her as a person. She was more than sweet helpless Lucy and I believe that is what she liked about Max. He was controlling and forced her out of her comfort zone. With Dare to Seduce Carly Phillips pushed boundaries but she did it to give a better understanding of her characters and that is what I found riveting.

He Said Yes!

I love how this starts with big brothers, Gabe and Decklan, calling out their friend, Max Savage, about his interest in Lucy Dare. It's awesome to see the exchange and get the ball rolling. 😂

“Face it, Savage. We know you have a thing for Lucy.”
-- Gabe Dare

I love how dirty these two get, and the possessiveness is entertaining, especially when Max turns the tables on Lucy and makes her think about some things.

There's plenty of trauma and hurt that they work over, around, and through. I like how everything gets tackled over the course of the book.

"As long as you're mine, I don't mind letting you think you're in control."
-- Lucy Dare

These two certainly are a handful, and I loved revisiting their story!

I borrowed the audio book. The narrator is Sophie Eastlake, who I seem to like a little more with each book. 🩷🎧🩷

Difficult Romance!

Dare to Seduce is the 13th novel in Carly Phillips's Dare to Love saga. This book features family friend Max Savage, and Decklan an Gage Dare's little sister Lucy. Max has had feelings for Lucy for YEARS, and unbeknowst to him, she's had unresolved feelings for him as well. Max decides to do something about their stagnant relationship, regardless of Lucy's reservations. I loved Max Savage as a main character: he's the complete package as far as being tall, dark (blond) and handsome. Add his Dom personality to the mix, and it's evident why Lucy Dare responds so well to his commands. Unlike Max however, I found Lucy a little hard to love: without going into specifics she resisted his advances a little TOO often for comfort.

Wow!

Lucy and Max... another fast story but it didn't let me down. I loved the push and pull. I loved that they were so much alike that it was hard to see for Lucy. I felt the ending was rushed just a bit but otherwise, it was definitely hot.

This was a good read. Lucy and Max have liked each other for quite some time. Things didn't go as planned when they were younger. Now they are given another chance. Of course Lucy has doubts but soon comes to her senses. Everything works out and they get their happy ending.

"Max, I don't think this is a good idea."
For the first time, he wasn't fighting what he felt for her, what he needed.
"I thinks this is the very best idea."

Max Savage and Lucy Dare have know each other practically forever. In the early days, Lucy was Max's best friends' little sister, tagging along wherever they went. As they got older, their feelings for each other grew to be much more than friends, but the emotional scars they each kept buried drove them further apart. Now, though, Max is ready to prove to Lucy that where they belong is together, and he's not about to take 'No' for an answer.

I am a sucker for Carly Phillips' Dare To Love series. Whether about the Dare siblings, or their New York cousins, the stories are full of love, family, and romance. DARE TO SEDUCE, Lucy and Max's book, is one of my favorites yet. Max, an alpha through and through, has been in love with Lucy for as long as he can remember. But fear of forming too close an attachment had him distancing himself and marrying a woman that he could never give himself to fully.

For Lucy, Max has always been the one. She had always hoped that, when the time was right, they could finally be together. When Max married another woman, Lucy was heartbroken, and moved to the other side of the country, unable to deal with yet another loss in her life. Drawn back by a desire to be part of her brothers' lives, she's fighting the attraction to Max that is stronger than ever.

DARE TO SEDUCE is signature Carly from start to finish. Emotionally and erotically charged, this read is not only the culmination of a lifelong love story, but also the journey of two people to find their true places in the world, and with each other. And, as with the rest of the series, there are Dares everywhere, which makes it feel like visiting old friends.

I really love that Carly is including the whole Dare family, as well as a few others, in this series, because seeing everyone get their story helps bring everything full circle. Five sexy, romantic, second-chance stars for DARE TO SEDUCE. I could not have enjoyed it more, and look forward to seeing what Carly has in store for us next.

It was good :) still to short ,if kinda felt like we were missing big parts of how their relationship developed .

Love Lucy and Max ,they might e my favorite couple in this whole series :) they both let their pasts get in the way of them being together but Max finally gets Lucy to see that he's there for the long hall and that there is really no way to save yourself from pain but to just live life to the fullest while you can .

Overall i think this book in my fav from the series .

You know those books that you wait for, and wait for, and you're so psyched to get it, you cuddle up with your favorite blanket and dive in and it just blows your ever loving mind? This is that book. Dare to Seduce dives into Lucy and Max's story. I have been JONESING for their story. The unrequited, yet miraculously requited, just avoided due to tortuous pasts love story was exactly what I wanted. I am a sucker for the brother's best friend book, but Dare to Seduce delivered a whole new dimension to it. A whole new layer of angst, and warm fuzzies that I reveled in. Let it be known that while I may have raved about the previous Dare to Love books this ones holds my heart within its grasps so tightly I don't think I'll get over it anytime soon.

Ms. Phllips yet again let's her strength for welled-up passion, and knife-twisting emotions soar in this book. Max and Lucy were hotter than hot, and each had such a story and baggage to overcome it took a lot of leaping and bounding as far as their character growth went. These two were in for a tough fight and fought as hard and deep as possible. The end result was nothing short of fascinating to watch. I literally felt like I was watching two close friends fall into a love that had been there for years and embrace it wholeheartedly.

What I hate and love about this series is the realness of it. I sincerely have a place in my heart for these characters and would love to see more from each of them. And while I do speak of the series as a whole each book is standalone. Though, why you wouldn't read all of them is far above my understanding. Dare to Seduce is a solid and above 5 star book for me. It gave me every satisfaction I was hoping for from the glimpses of Lucy and Max. If you're looking for an intense, yet fun-loving and steaming, burning hot read, you just found your next willing participant!

Happy Reading!

3-1/2 stars.

This review also appears on Pretty Sassy Cool.

Max has been in love with his best friend's little sister, Lucy, forever, but he never thought he had a chance with her. He moved on by getting married, but his wife died. This story begins with Max deciding he's ready to take his shot with Lucy--even though she has a boyfriend. It's a predictable story, but it's steamy and a great read.

I really like this series a lot, and while this one isn't my favorite in the series, I liked it :) I love the sense of family, and if you like Jill Shalvis and Bella Andre, you're going to love this. Max and Lucy have chemistry and history, and you know how I feel about stories involving for the brother's best friend. I love that he calls her Princess and that he's not willing to give up without letting Lucy know exactly how he feels. You can be sure that every book in this series is hot, and this one is no different.

Like I said, I love this series, but this book felt rushed to me. They have great banter and history, and this can definitely be read as a standalone, but I would have liked more to them. The ending was rushed, but I did love their relationship and I was rooting for them to be together. I'm glad there are going to be more books in this series. I loved the relationship that Max had with Lucy's brothers too. They respected each other.

You really can't go wrong with any of the books in the Dare to Love series. With sizzling chemistry, amazingly steamy scenes, and a great family history, Dare to Seduce is a quick, fun read from Carly Phillips.

I love the Dare family series and have been eagerly waiting for a Max and Lucy's story. This is a bit of a friends to lovers story since Max and Lucy have know each other since their youth. They have also secretly (for Max) and not so secretly (for Lucy) been in love with each other for almost as long. Sadly, tragedy in their respective lives pulled them apart and Lucy's desire to distance herself from love, even the love of her siblings, drives her from NY to CA. But a wedding and a new restaurant brings Lucy back to New York and back into Max's life. And Max is ready to fight for the heart of the woman he has always loved and will blow through every single one of her defenses in the process.

Dare to Seduce definitely contained Phillips' usual hotness quotient for this series, and I enjoyed seeing the couple heal each other through their love for one another. I especially enjoyed how Lucy encouraged Max to repair the rift between his parents and himself. She was there for him even when "there" put her in close proximity to the life she had with her parents before their deaths.

Although I enjoyed the story, it is not among my top favorites of the series. Even though Lucy embraced and acknowledged her love for Max when he was injured I didn't feel a deep emotional connection between the couple as I felt for the other Dare couples. Lucy and Max's story missed that spark for me. I liked their love story but I didn't love it and was hoping for a bit ... more.

That said, the Dare series is still one of my favorite family saga series and I cannot wait to see who's up next for this very eclectic family.

I received an ARC of this book from Rock Star Lit PR in exchange for an honest review.

You know that trope where the hero is best friends with the heroine's brother, and even if both main characters obviously had feelings for each other, they never did anything about it because one or both of them do not want to screw up the status quo? This book is yet another one of those. In all hoensty, this plot is very common. I read something like this at least once a week. However, what makes it different is the fact that the author is a truly talented one and her characters are not over the top when it comes to their love and development.

The hero, Max, was even married to someone else. Yes, he lost his wife, but my point is that he was an all around good guy who doesn't go around purposefully breaking hearts because he couldn't have the one he truly wanted. Lucy, on the other hand, was also a belieable character. Yes, she always harbored deep feelings for the hero, but she tried to move on and be with other men. It wasn't like she reserved her entire life just waiting for him to notice.

While this book isn't super amazing and there's no rollercoaster of emotions that get readers completely invested, Dare To Seduce is still a wonderfully entertaining love story that readers will surely enjoy. Man, those Dare folks really have something going on out there. They seem to have the best luck when it comes to finding an HEA. Anyway, this is yet another solid addition to the series and one that romance lovers shouldn't miss.

Lucy has always been in love with Max (best friend of her brothers). Max has always been attracted to Lucy but has never acted on his feelings because she was off limits being the little sister to his best friends. When Max marries Cindy, Lucy ends up moving to LA, she can't stand to see them together when she has always felt Max was hers.

Several years later Lucy returns home to attend her brothers wedding and Max seems to be everywhere she is. She learns that his wife passed a few years back and it seems he is single again. But Lucy is dating Lucas, a self-centered guy who is always making Lucy feel inferior.
Max does not like Lucas and the way he treats Lucy and they butt heads/or fists, Lucas returns to LA leaving Lucy there to attend the wedding alone.

Max has fears of being disappointed or deserted by people he loves and this has kept him from being more serious about Lucy. But as Lucy relaxes into how she was before leaving for LA, Max is finding it harder and harder to stay away from her. Even Lucy's brothers see the signs and start encouraging him to make a move.

Lucy's brother's wedding takes place on the island of Eden and this is where Max plans to make is move and let Lucy know exactly how he feels hoping that she will admit to herself she feels the same for him.

“‘Got a problem, princess?’ He tugged harder, then sealed his lips over hers, changing the kiss from fun and playful to hard and demanding, controlling her position with his hands in her hair, keeping her neck bent so he could devour her mouth.”

5 lustful stars!! This series has been off the charts hot, so I didn’t think it would get any hotter…..boy was I wrong!! This book was smoking!!

Max has always been in love with Lucy Dare but he didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had…..so he goes and gets married. I've been a fan of Carly Phillips for years and love her books. This one was no exception.

Lucy Dare has come back home from LA for the engagement party of her brother and has brought her current boyfriend with her. She has always secretly wanted her brother's best friend Max as her own, but years before he married another woman and she wrote off that ever being a possibility.

Max Savage is a billionaire who is used to getting what he wants, both in and out of the bedroom. He's always wanted Lucy, but due to circumstances in his childhood, he closed himself off to that idea years before. After marrying a woman whom he didn't love the way he should have, she died tragically and it made Max take stock of what was really important.

Now that Max has set his sights on Lucy, will she allow him into her life? Will her past life experiences derail this romance before it really begins?

Max and Lucy have great chemistry and they are definitely HOT together. This is another fantastic addition to this series of books!

Max has had a crush on his good friend and former neighbor's little sister Lucy since she came home from college. Lucy has also had a huge crush on Max for years. Both Max and Lucy have experienced emotional pain and loss, and have kept themselves from having relationships that they really wanted. Max finally decides it is time to let Lucy know how he feels, and with the blessing of her brothers, he tries to make sure she knows that they should be together.

This, like others in the series, is a quick read full of pleasant characters that are easy to like and cheer on. The "obstacles" in Lucy and Max's path are pretty easy to overcome, and the story line is fairly predictable. That said, these characters have obvious chemistry and I was really hoping that they would just give in and allow themselves the relationship both deserve. Fans of this series will likely enjoy this installment.

While this is part of a series, I believe it could easily be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

The New York Dare cousins previous books in the Dare To Love series were sometimes stretched in believability for this reader, and made me apprehensive going into the read. But Dare To Seduce didn't disappoint and was a stellar read. Loved the characters - Max and Lucy were fabulous together. From start to finish I was absolutely enthralled and before I knew it I was past half way of the read. I just could not put the book down and when I did, I couldn't wait to get back to the story. Lots of mutual chemistry between the characters but the back story between Lucy and Max and family ties added depth and believability that made the story a top read. Dare To Seduce trumped the NY Cousin side of the series for certain. This read was even a good challenge to the first instalment - Ian and Riley's story Dare To Love which I thought was the best of the whole series :)

Another home run in this series!! I am seriously in love with every single book in this series and each book is just as good as the previous one. And not one of them is like a repeat of any of the ones before. I have been super excited to read more about Lucy since she was introduced. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Max and I really like how his character was written. He was without a doubt a very alpha man but probably one of the most romantic and sweet heroes. He was more than swoon worthy and was absolutely perfect for Lucy. I understood Lucy and why she felt the way she did. This was just another amazing book in this series. I recommend reading them in order even though they can be read as standalones because there are intertwining characters and well quite honestly this series is simply amazing!! I give this one 5 AMAZEBALLS stars! A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first time reading a Carly Phillips book and I have one thing to say: It certainly won't be the last!

There were so many things to like about this book. Amiable characters that made a truly awesome pairing,a supporting cast that added nice depth, and scenes that clipped right along, never lacking movement. The story held my attention the entire time kept my interest constantly provoked! I do wish 2 things: One, that the ending hadn't happened so quickly. It felt rushed. And two, that a different girl would have been on the cover for the book. For some reason her expression really bothers me. I don't think the Lucy Dare we came to know would have appeared in a compromising position... she was too classy for that. It just wasn't a good representation of the couple we read about.

All in all, a really solid and enjoyable story! Can't wait for book #9!
