First Kiss Mystery #2

Her Heart in Ruins

Rate this book
The perfect human sacrifice?

Fernanda certainly didn't like to think of herself that way. But that's what the drugged shaman gleefully pronounced as they sat at the campfire, high in the Andes. Fernanda wondered if she had made a mistake in convincing her husband to hike with her the Inca Trail in search of the missing boy. The boy they feared had been taken by an ancient tribe to be sacrificed to the mountain gods. She forced herself to think of the boy, and ignore her growing unease.

A very interesting storyline, has a lot of beliefs and customs in it and try to explain why someone is not guilty of a crime that they are charged with.

This was the second book in the series and, since I had not read the first book, it was a little confusing at first. It would be helpful to read the first book to familiarize yourself with the characters.

A group of friends headed to Peru. One woman was suspected of serial murders while in India and, while no proof could be found, an FBI agent was sent to follow her. In Peru, they were asked to find a missing boy who some believed was being held by a tribe of Inca who practiced human sacrifice. Others thought he had been kidnapped by a guerilla group and was part of the boy soldiers. Enduring the steep climb up the mountains was only part of the struggle this group went through.

I received this book free from Goodreads in return for a review. Thank you Goodreads.

Won from good reads
Ed Pushkin is an FBI agent very ill but still doing his job and has to shadow Fernanda who is married to randy an IBM consultant but used to be married to chance. Kalene is a friend of fernanda and is invited to go to Peru where randy has work to do. This is where the story starts as when they get to Peru things are not what they seem.

A boy is kidnapped and a rag tag group of foreigners help find him. Husband/wife and an undercover FBI agent, plus two others.. The book gets a little bogged down with all the characters and their relationship to each other, but it's a fun read and would recommend it.
