Rate this book
One week in the jungle. Only seven survivors remain. And rescue isn’t coming.

Captain Marley West has done everything she can to save her passengers from the deadliest jungle on earth, but when her biggest fears are confirmed, she’s forced to make another brutal give up all hope and starve, or risk the wrath of the Colombian cartel to make it back to civilization.

But this time, she’s not leading alone.

The lethal convict has become her fiercest protector.

The flirty flight attendant has become her greatest comfort.

The uptight engineer has become her strongest challenger.

The jungle has thrown every obstacle in their way, and against all odds, they’ve survived. Now they have to beat the deadliest predator of man.

Are the four fractured souls healed enough to face their greatest fears? Only if they fight for their lives … and for each other.

I BEG YOUR FINEST PARDON?!

A PLANE CRASH?!

THE COLOMBIAN JUNGLE?!

THREE MEN AND ONE WOMAN TRYING TO STAY ALIVE?!

AND NOW WE’RE ADDING A CARTEL TO THE ITINERARY?!

CORA FLYNN. MA’AM. WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU HAVE AGAINST THESE PEOPLE EXPERIENCING ONE SINGLE MOMENT OF PEACE?!

Because apparently surviving a plane crash, navigating a deadly jungle, and developing several extremely complicated romantic attachments wasn’t enough.

NOPE. NOW WE’RE INTRODUCING ORGANIZED CRIME.

BABES, THIS ISN’T A VACATION.

THIS IS A COLLECTION OF INTERNATIONAL INCIDENTS WITH A ROMANCE SUBPLOT.

Four stars, two peppers, and a group of fictional survivors who deserve an all-inclusive resort with unlimited cocktails and complimentary therapy.

After the ending of Final Approach, there was absolutely no way I was leaving this story unfinished.

I NEEDED ANSWERS.

And Final Destination takes everything that made the first installment compelling and raises the stakes.

Captain Marley West has spent the past week doing everything possible to keep her fellow survivors alive.

Seven people remain.

Their resources are dwindling.

Rescue isn’t coming.

And the jungle?

APPARENTLY STILL ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF EVERYONE’S WORST NIGHTMARE.

But this time, Marley isn’t facing everything alone.

She has three men whose relationships with her have become considerably more complicated than anyone could have predicted when they boarded that plane.

A dangerous convict.

A charming flight attendant.

An engineer who challenges her at practically every opportunity.

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW WE’VE MANAGED TO ASSEMBLE AN ENTIRE ROMANTIC ENTOURAGE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SURVIVAL DISASTER.

Because I am fascinated.

What I appreciated about this conclusion was that the men weren’t interchangeable romantic interests.

Each brings something different to Marley’s life.

Protection.

Comfort.

Challenge.

And their relationships with one another matter, too.

That’s something I always look for in a why-choose romance.

I don’t want several attractive men simply existing around the heroine like decorative furniture.

I WANT RELATIONSHIPS. CONNECTION. PERSONALITIES. ACTUAL EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT.

And the MMFM dynamic gives the story room to explore love and attraction beyond a single conventional relationship.

The circumstances may be extraordinary, but the emotional questions remain surprisingly human.

Can they trust one another?

Can they be vulnerable?

And can something that began under such desperate circumstances survive once the immediate danger is over?

BECAUSE FALLING IN LOVE IN A JUNGLE IS ONE THING.

FIGURING OUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP BACK IN CIVILIZATION? THAT’S AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT ADVENTURE.

And Marley?

OH, THIS WOMAN.

The responsibility she’s carried throughout this ordeal is enormous.

She’s determined to keep people alive, even when she has every reason to be terrified herself.

But what made her particularly compelling was the emotional history beneath that strength.

As more of her past comes to light, we begin to understand how her experiences shaped the woman she’s become.

Her childhood trauma adds genuine weight to her decisions, her fears, and the walls she’s built around herself.

And I appreciated that being capable didn’t mean being unaffected.

STRONG WOMEN ARE ALLOWED TO STRUGGLE.

They’re allowed to need comfort.

They’re allowed to be frightened.

And they deserve people who recognize their humanity rather than expecting them to hold everything together indefinitely.

Watching Marley slowly allow herself that vulnerability was one of the most meaningful parts of this story.

But let’s discuss the suspense.

GOOD HEAVENS.

Because apparently the jungle’s natural predators were merely the opening act.

Now the survivors must contend with people who are arguably far more dangerous than the animals they’ve spent days avoiding.

I’M SORRY. DID WE NOT ALREADY COMPLETE THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES?!

The cartel-related danger adds another level of tension, forcing the group to make difficult decisions when the consequences couldn’t be higher.

There were moments when I just wanted to reach into the book, collect everyone, and personally arrange their extraction.

SOMEONE CALL AN EMBASSY. A HELICOPTER. A RESPONSIBLE ADULT. ANYONE.

But what made the action work was how invested I’d become in these characters.

Danger is only truly suspenseful when you care about the people facing it.

And after spending two books watching these four grow closer, I absolutely cared.

The found-family element was especially important.

These aren’t people who entered the story with perfectly healthy relationships or uncomplicated pasts.

They’re carrying grief, trauma, fear, and experiences that have changed how they see themselves.

And under the worst possible circumstances, they gradually become a source of strength for one another.

IS THIS THE MOST EXTREME TEAM-BUILDING EXERCISE IN HUMAN HISTORY?

ABSOLUTELY.

DID IT WORK?

WELL, THE EMOTIONAL RESULTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

I also appreciated that the romance doesn’t pretend love automatically fixes everything.

There are difficult conversations.

There are insecurities.

There are moments when these characters must face parts of themselves they’d rather leave buried.

And those struggles make their connection feel more substantial than attraction alone.

Of course, the chemistry is there.

Two peppers, plenty of tension, and a relationship dynamic that’s definitely outside the traditional romance formula.

But the quieter moments of trust and understanding were just as rewarding.

Because after everything these people have survived, even the smallest gestures of tenderness carry enormous meaning.

AND OCCASIONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO EXPERIENCE THOSE MOMENTS WITHOUT SOMEONE NEARLY DYING FIVE MINUTES LATER.

THANK YOU.

One of my favorite choices in this duet is that the story doesn’t treat reaching safety as the end of the emotional journey.

Because survival isn’t the same as recovery.

Escaping immediate danger doesn’t erase grief or trauma.

And returning to ordinary life doesn’t mean these characters can simply resume being the people they were before the crash.

They’ve changed.

Their relationships have changed.

And building a future together requires something different from surviving one day at a time.

FINALLY. AN HEA THAT UNDERSTANDS WE NEED MORE THAN A RESCUE HELICOPTER AND A GROUP HUG.

I loved that the story allowed space for that transition.

The characters deserve more than merely making it out alive.

They deserve happiness.

Stability.

Love.

And the opportunity to build a life that isn’t constantly defined by fear.

The combination of suspense, emotional healing, and unconventional romance made this duet stand out for me.

Cora Flynn managed to create a survival story with real romantic substance rather than letting either element completely overshadow the other.

FINAL VERDICT:

Four stars and two peppers for an intense, emotional, action-packed conclusion to the Lost & Found duet.

Final Destination delivers dangerous twists, deeply complicated relationships, meaningful character growth, and a found family worth rooting for.

Marley and her men have been through an extraordinary amount, and watching them fight for a future beyond survival made their eventual happiness feel truly earned.

I’ve read several Cora Flynn books now, and this duet has become my favorite experience with her writing so far.

The tension kept me invested, the relationships gave the danger emotional stakes, and the ending offered the kind of closure these characters deserved.

Now, respectfully?

CAN WE PLEASE ALLOW THESE FOUR PEOPLE TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE?!

NO CARTELS.

NO PLANE CRASHES.

NO JUNGLE PREDATORS.

JUST LOVE, PEACE, AND PERHAPS AN OCCASIONAL TRIP TO THE GROCERY STORE.

FOUR STARS. TWO PEPPERS. AND ONE VERY EXHAUSTED READER WHO WILL NEVER LOOK AT AN ALL-INCLUSIVE JUNGLE EXCURSION THE SAME WAY AGAIN. 🌿✈️🖤

ARC REVIEW

⭐ Story: 4/5
🌶️ Spice: 2/5

I absolutely DEMOLISHED this book in two days! 😂

After that cliffhanger in Final Approach, there was absolutely NO WAY I wasn't diving straight into book two. And let me tell you, the anxiety was REAL. Picking up right where book one left off, I was immediately thrown back into the chaos, constantly wondering WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?! And more importantly, CAN MY HEART HANDLE ANY MORE DEATHS?! 😭

Once the group realised rescue wasn't coming, things became even more intense. The desperation, the fight for survival, the impossible decisions, and the emotional toll of everything they'd already endured were so incredibly well written. You could really feel the weight of their situation and how every new obstacle pushed them closer to their breaking points.

One of my favourite things about this book was getting so much more character development and seeing the relationships between everyone deepen. I was already invested in these characters, but this book made me love them even more!

Marley. Oh, my poor Marley. 😭🖤This woman had been carrying SO MUCH. Between her past trauma and everything she'd endured since the crash, she was desperately trying to hold herself together and be the strong one everyone needed. Watching all those emotions she'd buried finally catch up with her and seeing her break down absolutely broke my heart. I just wanted to reach into the book and give her the biggest hug. She deserved one!

Ambrose and Nikki?!🥹Oh, my heart was so content watching their connection develop! I absolutely loved seeing more of them together. Their relationship brought some much-needed warmth into a story filled with so much darkness and desperation.

And MADMAN?! 🥵🖤HOW DID THIS MAN GET EVEN BETTER?! I already loved him in book one, but somehow he managed to make me fall for him even harder. His protective nature throughout this entire book was EVERYTHING. The way he cared, the way he stepped up, and that fierce determination to keep everyone safe? MY HEART. I absolutely adored him.

There were also a few moments that genuinely made me emotional. Now, I know not everyone will react the same way, but I'm a very emotional reader, and some of these chapters really got to me. 🥹 The fear, the trauma, the vulnerability, and those little moments of connection in the middle of absolute chaos were beautifully done.

Now, let's talk about the spice! 🌶️

There really wasn't much of it in this book, and you know what? I DIDN'T EVEN CARE! 😂I was so completely invested in the survival story and what was going to happen next that I wasn't sitting there waiting for the next spicy scene. And honestly, the scenes we DID get were really good! They gave us just enough to scratch that itch without taking anything away from the story or the emotional intensity.

My one little complaint? I would have loved to know the full outcome of the lawsuit! That's it. That's my only real gripe. I just wanted that extra bit of closure.

Overall, this was such a satisfying conclusion to the duet!🖤The suspense, the emotional damage, the character growth, the relationships, and the sheer determination to survive had me completely hooked from beginning to end.

Cora Flynn did a wonderful job of making me care about these characters and everything they went through. I loved that the romance didn't overshadow the survival story, but instead became part of what made their journey so meaningful.

If you enjoy survival romances with high stakes, emotional trauma, protective men, developing relationships, and characters who have to fight for every little bit of happiness, I definitely recommend picking up this duet!

Just make sure you've got book two ready before finishing book one, because TRUST ME, you'll need it!😂🖤

HEA!! WOW. 😍🤩

We do get a fantastic happily ever after! It is a hard won HEA, but we get it. And it’s beautiful. I appreciate the warm cozies at the end. After all that that family went through, they deserved nothing but good and warm cozies.

I loved how they helped each other heal through so many devastating losses.

This is a GREAT DUET. But it is tough. It is a true survival of the fittest and while this group survives and comes out the other side, their mental health battles were brutal. But they came out on top and together. And that’s what matters the most to me.

Do check TWs as this duet deals with tough, heavy, yet very real issues. Mental health is primary!

Such an incredible duet. What an explosive second book to complete the duet. These characters, their emotions, and their ability to fight not only the elements but their internal demons. The amount of times something insane happened in this book had my jaw dropped more than any other story I’ve ever read. This was just incredible, I was kept on the edge of my seat until the last page. A story completely different from anything I’ve read and it was everything I’ve ever wanted.
