Hungry lion meets shy BBW for a roaring good time!

All she's ever wanted is to find the love of her life. BBW Sherry Cole dreams about the day she will find her true mate, marry and have kids but her natural shyness and a birthmark have eroded her confidence.

Some of her co-workers are mean girls who decide it would be fun to play with Sherry's love life and they take matters into their own hands signing her up for the 'Luscious Lads and Ladies Marriage Mates' site. Luscious Lads and Ladies is a new marriage match site with a twist. All the men on the site are shifters from the rowdy town of Shifter Villages looking for their mate and all the women are looking for shifters in the town to mate with.

When Sherry finds out what her co-workers have done she is in shock. Will she use the opportunity to grab a chance at happiness or let the opportunity slip through her fingers?

Lion's Love is a BBW Paranormal Shapeshifter Romance. This is a standalone novella and the first story in the Confessions of a Mail Order Bride series. These paranormal romances can be read in any order. The story includes strong sexual themes and language.

Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder
Sherry is a beautiful woman that happens to have a Port Wine stain birthmark on her face. Her self-esteem is not so great and she has a shy streak. Getting bullied in life is nothing new for her and a few of her co-workers are immature enough to belittle her. Sherry overhears about a new dating site called “Luscious Lads and Ladies Marriage Mates” so she checks out the site. Once seeing the profile of Adrian she can’t stop thinking about him. But again her co-worker states she would never be the type they would want. Sherry’s self-esteem won’t let her sign up for the site but the bullies do make a profile for her and add a touched up picture of her without the birthmark. But she’s already got an e-mail from Adrian from on the site. This is a well written story with a real good message about inter-beauty as well as Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder. A lot more happens in this well written story that makes it fun and exciting to read.
On a personal note as a mother of a daughter that had a birthmark on her face as well as blind in one eye and having to have a glass eye in place of it: I want to say that we as parents can teach our children to be either handicapped or not to be by our actions and how we treat a situation like this. It won’t stop the bullies but we can give our children the love and self-esteem they will need to overcome the bullies in life. If you treat your child different than normal because of a mark or scar or any other type difference you can make then handicapped in life. Treat then normal and they will be normal. We all have differences, some are visible and some are not.

A solid 2.5 stars. The story itself was decent but there were some holes and some unresolved storylines. I'm sure the ongoing drama will continue in the next book or books. It was kind of obvious to me who the bad guy is and the heroine saw it but never said a word. Also, the little drama with her co-worker at the end was soo cliche. I read a lot of paranormal romance books and there was really nothing new in this story to make it stand out. The I'm confident but I know nobody could love me theme is getting old.

A very good romance between a human lady and a lion shifter. She gets involved with a website to match up humans and shifters, and she meets the man of her dreams. There are some twists involved, with mean co-workers and unexplained happenings at the shifter's town, but the romance comes together in a satisfying way.

Eh sort and repetitive

I found it to be repetitive in regards to the birthmark. It would've been better with more action. Your left not knowing who the fire starter is however it's quite easy to know who the troublemaker is. Hope the Author don't drag it through all the books.

I found this book to be just okay. Normally I love Ms. Kent's books but this one just didn't work for me. It felt like something was missing. The story seemed rushed and the background story (the fires) seemed like they were just thrown in as an after thought. I liked the character of Sherry Cole. She's sweet, caring, emotional scarred and badly in need of having someone in her life that cares about her. Adrian, was just okay. He's a lion shifter but to me he came across as being very weak. He sounded sexy and he was romantic but he just lacked the Alpha quality that makes shifters so hot and deadly. Though if I was to name one thing about the book I truly hated it would have to be the over usage of the P word. I mean come on really. Were you challenging yourself to see how many times you could use the word in one book? I don't mind the use of the word but there comes a point when you've gone past describing a sex scene and straight into vulgarity. Your a better, classier writer then that Ms. Kent. One thing I did like about the book, and this I really liked was the cover. That guy looks HOT. I wish it showed his full face though. i would love to see what he looks like.

All this being said I do still love Ms. Kent's books and look forward to the next one.

This story is about Sherry, who has never been truly loved by anyone including her parents, dreams of forever love and feeling like she'll never find someone who truly accepts her as she is. Always watching and listening from the sidelines Sherry learns about a website for marriage matches and on her break visits Luscious Lads and Ladies. The site is to get matches to Shifter Villages male population, which is the whole town. Everybody has a match out there right? Why not her? She'll never put up a profile but the theory is nice..So why does she get an email from the site?

Adrian is a lion shifter looking for his true mate and tries the website out. He's intrigued by a woman who contacts him. Hmmmm

It's a sweet romance with hot lovin'. I would love to visit Shifter Villages and meet the towns people.

This series has great potential. My only concern is that it was a bit rushed and important story info is left out. I know this is meant to be a serialized quick read but a bit more for this first book to set this series flying would have made it a 5 star read for me.

** I received an ARC for an honest review. **

Lions Love is the first and the Confessions of a Mail Order Bride and I liked it. It was a quick read yet you got the full effect of its characters and storyline.
My only complaint is the characters to me when interacting with each other were more one sided, like when I read them it was more like reading words then voices.
I'm intrigued though so I'm curious to see what's next!

So I decided to try this series out. I have read a book in this series before and knew I like the series.

Most of us know what it is like to be judge or made fun of. Whether it be a scar, birthmark, looks, weight, or whatever. People can be hurtful and very judgmental at times. Sherry Cole suffered through that. She was a curvy very beautiful woman. She did have a birthmark on her face that she spent most of her life hating. She found some of her coworkers liked to treat her poorly because of it as well.

I truly like Sherry. She was shy but would standup for herself once pushed. She had heard of a dating site called Luscious Lads and Ladies Marriage Mates. She dreamed of finding the man that would look past her birthmark and love her for her.

Roxanne who was one of Sherry’s coworkers I found cruel. I had to wonder what pain she carried inside that made her feel the need to treat people badly to feel better about herself. She loved to cause Sherry pain and could not believe anyone could ever love Sherry.

WOW, Adrian Landen was this hot sexy Lion softer. He longed to find that mate that would complete him. Thanks to his friend who built the site he might have that chance. I was amazed how he acted when he found out about Sherry’s birthmark. I love how he spent time getting to know her as a person. He was more interested in her as a person then her beauty.

There is trouble going on in Shifter Village. Someone likes setting fires. The sheriff can not figure out who is behind this awful act. Will the trouble going on scare Sherry away?

This was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

Sherry’s co-worker goes behind her back and put her on a dating site, thought the thought behind it is malicious the outcome is positive. Usually when I try to give a small glimpse to what I have read I try my readers something of what I got from the story without giving anything away in the story but I feel like I didn’t succeed in that first sentence so I apologize. The story was so short the only the I could do was be as vague as possible, especially when the blurb pretty much gives the story away.

What there is of Lion’s Love is well written but way to short for the slow burn romance that it is. Most of the communication between the main characters is done through online chatting and barely even touched on and then skips straight to them meeting in person, the mating and the wedding with little to nothing in between. The really sad thing is there is a whole background story that starts with a arson fire that the author barely touched on almost like an afterthought, I wonder if it ties into the other books in the series.

I am going to give Lion’s Love 2 stars because what there is written well and I didn’t see any edits, but the story itself lacked substance and felt incomplete and disappointing.

This is the first book by Kate I have read and I am hooked. This book was emotional, romantic, and more. Sherry is a curvy woman who longs for love. She is likes her job but she could do without a few of her coworkers. One of those coworkers catches her looking at a dating website where Male shifters are looking for their mates. Her coworkers mate a profile with her and message the man she was looking at on the site. When Sherry firsts finds out so is so upset, embarrassed and mad at her coworkers. Then after reading the message the man sends back to her she decides she isn’t going to let this opportunity go to waste. She is going to take a chance of love. While this started out as a joke by her coworkers this could turn out to be the best thing to happen to Sherry. I felt for Sherry and was so angry at her coworkers. After the boss finds out and confronts them they act like they didn’t do anything wrong and have no clue why Sherry would be upset. They were just trying to help her. I can’t wait to read more of the books in this series. All the male shifters on the website live in one town together and are all looking for their mates. Sherry and her mate are the first success story of the website. I am excited to read about the other guys and how they find their mates.

Lion's Love

This is a lighthearted paranormal romance with a side of "mean girls" to it. Sherry is a BBW who has a birthmark on her face. There is a group of mean women at her job who like to pick on her and make her miserable. One day she overhears some of her coworkers talking about a new dating website for shifters looking for wives/mates, so she goes to look it up online and one of the mean women, Roxanne, catches her looking at it. Roxanne then embarrasses her in a meeting by telling everyone that Sherry thinks she can find someone to love her on the website. Later this same person signs her up without her knowledge, even having someone in personnel help access her file to help fill out the application. You think it's not going to end well but the author manages bring it all together.

This was a sweet romance that had the makings of a cute YA paranormal romance until all the sex started happening. It had a “Mean Girls” meets “Twilight” kind of vibe in the description, and was written in a similar fashion, but the situations just never felt mature. It felt like the whole thing (based on the way all the adults acted) revolved around a bunch of teenagers playing cruel pranks on one another only to have it work out in the prankee’s (is that a word?) favor. It was more than a little strange to be honest.

Delightful Novela

Very entertaining, charming characters, well written, great storyline and a definite contender for Mary Murphy’s “Hot Tamale Train” (So You Think You Can Dance).
I’m pretty sure this is the first book by Kate Kent that I’ve read but I see “More, More, More” in my future!!
My ONLY complaint is that it’s short. I didn’t want the story to end. The fact that it’s part of a series gives me hope that I will get to spend more time with Sherry and Adrien.
I can’t wait to read book 2!!!

I'm sorry but this one didn't strike a cord with me. I like a good shifter read but this one was not for me. It was too short and the elements of the story were rushed through. I struggled with the idea that the mean girls in the office set up the dating account and did it well to attract the shifter that she wanted!! The time in the shifter town skirted around the things that were happening and I couldn't connect with the characters as events interfered with getting to know them.

It was cute. Sherry wasn't really looking but she found her happily ever after. When she was just browsing a new site 'Luscious Lads and Ladies Marriage Mates.' She didn't plan to sign up for it. But one of her evil co-workers did. Thank goodness the shifter in question, Adrian who is a Lion shifter, knew she was the one. Things hit is off from the start. And Sherry now has a hottie Lion as her mate/husband.

The book jumps right into meet and greet and happiness. It's fun.

I love this book. It was a quick read. I read this book in one afternoon. I encourage anyone that likes this type of story to get it. It is worth your time and effort. It is slightly different to most of the shifter books I have read and since I don't do spoilers you will need to read the book. I will be reading more of Kate Kent books

Good story

Good start to the series. Great life lessons learned as well along the way. It's nice to have curvy heroines that are not perfect but they can still find their perfect match. I would recommend this book to adult reader who enjoys sexy shifter stories.

Lion's LOVE by Kate Kent

A short novella but giving a lesson in not judging by how someone looks. I wished it was longer so more additional background but you get a piece of the shifters and their struggles a book at a time. A sweet little reading though.📑🍵👏💑💝😍

A quick fun read

With having over 3000 ebooks I am always looking for a new book. This one was good. It goes fast the characters are fun. The heroine may have had a wine stain but she was strong and took care if her self. Sometimes you need to have a strong girl and this us her.

A Fast Read

This is very well written. The characters are very memorable, which works as the story continues in the next book. Some sexual content. It moves very quickly.

Novella

More like a short story. Seems to be a larger story arc which will probably be continued throughout the series.
