There is more to cancer than death.

120 days... The average number of days someone stays at Last Resort.

17 weeks... Surrounded by love, laughter and support.

4 months... More time than they had before they walked through the door.

Real estate developer Ethan McGregor’s life was changed forever when his younger brother told him he was dying of cancer. Ethan was ready to do whatever it took to save Evan, but Evan had other plans.

Say goodbye…

Samantha Truman runs the privately-funded Last Resort. Watching her parent’s drive and determination to live longer than the doctors gave them was the inspiration for the resort. It is her heart and soul--she lives to make sure that each day is precious, and one more sunrise or sunset can make all the difference the guests at Last Resort need.

After finding his brother’s journal, and discovering more about Last Resort, Ethan is determined to find out if this place is one of those “too good to be true” places that turn out to be a scam. But he was not ready for Samantha Truman, he was not ready for everything to change, for his point of view in life to be so incredibly altered, for the world to turn its axis. There are, after all, some things Ethan can’t control, who to fall in love with is one of them.

How much can change in 120 days?

4 Opening Your Heart To See Stars * * * *
In this life we have, there are many givens...we all know we eventually will no longer be here in this state of living... but it is something which we keep in the back of our minds... in a safe place not to be thought of....

When mortality comes rearing its ugly head and starts encompassing the ones we love, there are so many ways we handle it... some compassionately, with grace...others with deep seated fear and need to control. The only issue with needing to control...is in the end there is none.

In this book of 120 Days, we meet two people with each reaction and see the impact each has on each other. Cancer is the vehicle taking the lives of those who are loved. It is in the battle to make those in this war the most happy, comfortable and alive where Samantha Truman lives...for she has dedicated her life to make these souls release the pain and suffering and inhabit a place of joy.

Ethan McGregor is not a man who believes in fairy dust or dancing as if no one is watching. He has learned his brother has cancer and is ready to fight with every drug and method out there...Only problem is his brother only wants to be at Last Resort, Samantha's privately funded company.
Stuck in the refusal to see thing clearly stage, Ethan is determined to show this is a scam and get his brother away from there.

What happens through this book is the overwhelming feeling of paying attention to your life and the others who you care about. Take the time to listen and hear what is being said...and what is being left out. Follow you heart more than your head sometimes...tell those near and dear you love them. Allow love to come into your life...as This Is Your One Life.

All of us will one day have the same ending...after all it is part of this journey we are on...It is important to not focus on it as then you will not be in the moment .... But it is important to think while you are in the middle of something...is this what you want to spend your time on...in the grand scheme of things... is the negative worth the energy....

It may sound very La La Land... but then again...maybe not.

120 days...by M. Stratton truly gutted me emotionally and brought back lots of memories for me. Two and half years ago, I first hand experienced the impact of what it means to lose someone close to me to cancer. Cancer is not something we think about it since we all think it will never happen to us or the people we love but sometimes when we least expect it, it happens. Reality hits that possibly life might be cut short. And when I was spending the last few weeks with my mom, every regret, memories, and I love you's comes rushing back at you like a raging storm. And in 120 days, M. Stratton has written one of the most raw, touching, beautiful, and emotional book that I have read. In this emotional tale, she has managed to bring light on this delicate and sensitive subject of cancer, death, life, and acceptance.

#120days

120 Days though may be a cancer book but it is so much more. It is about truly understanding terminally ill patients and their last moments of living. Though they may experience pain and death is knocking on their door, it is about the hope, light, happiness, and acceptance of it all. 120 Days truly gutted me and left me bawling throughout the story. My heart and floods of memories came rushing back and so I understood the emotional heartache of Ethan as he relives and experiences what his brother's last moments through the eyes of the people at the Last Resort and Samantha. This book is tragic but really beautiful. 120 Days engulfs you with so many emotions that it reminds readers of the beauty of second chances, finding love, experiencing life, and acceptance. This is my first book from this author and it won't be me last. M. Stratton was able to showcase a strong voice of her characters in a well-written story.

Yes it's a Cancer book but there's more to it. It's what happens when someone goes out of her way to give back. Samantha builds Last Resort for patients who don't have much time left. There they live out their time as comfortable as possible surrounded by others who are going through the same circumstances. They party, they dance. If she can grant them a wish she's all over it. Just think about it, what would you do if you knew how much time you had to live? Samantha is far from being selfish. She dedicates 100% of her life to this resort. But of course there's always that one person.

Ethan finds out his brother is dying of Cancer and Last Resort is where he chose to go. He's so damn arrogant he assumes it was all a scam and needs to find out who is the person behind it all. In search he goes and surprise, surprise. Life had other plans for Ethan. In too deep he grows a new heart for the people there. He also learns things about his brother he didn't even know and how happy he was to be there.

So why do you need to read this book?

It's beautiful. I loved the message, plus after Ethan stops being a douche you learn how romantic and sexy he can be. Oh yes there's romance in the story but what I want you guys to know is there's also heartache. It's a cancer book and not everyone survives. I'm getting teary eyed thinking about it. Samantha is a strong leading lady. She knows what she wants and although she's so wrapped up in the resort she forgets she also has to live her life.

I've read every single book from this author and this has been my favorite one yet. Give it a chance. Happy Readings *muah*

I'm not sure where to start...
Emotional. Beautiful.
It's not just a book about cancer and its destructive path. It's about living life to the fullest, not missing out, not giving up. It's about stepping up when others won't, filling in when others can't. It's about hope, too. About finding what your life is really about.
This is a story about Samantha, a light to so many people yet she's never truly had her own to follow until Ethan comes along. He brings a love she never imagined and a compassion for others that's equal to her own.
I really enjoyed their story, but I equally enjoyed the tributes at the end, dedicated to the individuals who inspired some of the characters in the book.
Some are related to the author, while others are relatives or friends of fellow authors and readers who have touched her life.
It's truly wonderful and I'm tearing up just thinking about it again.
Be ready with tissues.

OMG what have you done to me M. Stratton?! I'm completely wrecked! How can I possibly correctly convey the emotions that I experienced from 120 Days?

Ethan McGregor has worked hard to take care of his younger brother since their parents died unexpectedly when they were younger. His whole life revolves around his brother, and making money, which he has surpassed his wildest dreams doing. So when his brother tells him he's dying of cancer, Ethan was willing to do whatever it took to save him, but Evan refused and disappeared. Samantha Truman funds and runs the Last Resort. After watching her parents fight tooth and nail to live longer than the time frame doctors gave them with their cancer, it gave her the inspiration for the resort. It's her heart and soul, and her whole life's mission is to make her clients last days special. Ethan finds his brother's journal, and is convinced the resort is a scam to get dying people's money, so he gets a job there to prove it. Instead of finding anything wrong, he finds himself letting go of life long driving forces, plus a strong connection to Samantha. Will Ethan discover that there's more to life than making money?

120 Days is a brilliant, highly emotional book. The story line of finding yourself and falling in love, was out of the world amazing. The character development was beautiful and very moving. M. Stratton's writing talent and heart had me bawling big ugly tears long after I finished. It was a very well written story that will live in my heart forever, and I can't highly recommend it enough.

This was my first M. Stratton book and I was super excited to get to read this one. The blurb gave me chills and I just knew this would be one of those books that sticks with you and make you think about life. I wasn’t wrong.

Sam and Ethan have both led very different lives but in some ways they are equally as withdrawn into themselves. Both have experienced loss, they’ve just decided to deal with it in very, very different ways. Each are lonely but have chosen to fill that loneliness up with something – For Ethan it was money and success. For Sam it was starting Last Resort.

The journey that Sam and Ethan take together is very emotional. They each do a lot of changing. Ethan is very affected by Last Resort, its guests and Sam. He is definitely the one who changes the most throughout this story.

Expect a lot of tears as you read this. As someone who has lost someone from that fucker called cancer, it was hard for me at times as it brought up memories and pain from my own losses. It also made me think about life and how precious it is. And that we should all use it wisely because you just never know… 3rd person POV is not usually my favorite because I don’t connect with the characters as well and I did feel some of that in this book. However, that’s more of my personal preference than anything to do with the writer/writing. I truly am glad that I picked this book up, it will stay with me for quite a while.

"Who fights for you?"
"I don't need anyone to fight for me."
"We all need someone."

This book was just beautiful. The good stories take you on a trip with them to their world and when they are well written you get sucked into it. I couldn't put this down once I started and it was far from a light and fluffy world. The Last Resort that the guests are staying at show you real love, real support, and true family once they come through the doors. My heart still hurts from the journey Ethan and Sam took us on in this story of learning to grown up, love, and show others a kindness that we all hunger for when the world knocks us down. This is for those who are left behind when life takes us on different roads and you have to learn to get up and live again.

"Everything can change in a moment. Live hard. Laugh hard. Love harder."

20 Days is a beautiful story of love and life and loss. A lovely tribute to what love can mean at any stage in our life.

Sam owns and runs a resort for people with terminal cancer. She wants to give them caring and a high quality of life and hopefully extend their days by making them good days.

Ethan's brother Evan stays at Sam's resort and leaves a journal of his final days. Ethan goes to Last Resort thinking that he is going to uncover some kind of scam to swindle money from dying cancer patients.

"..you made me wake up. What you do blows me away. You blow me away every day.."

Keep your eyes open for the butterflies!
An emotional story that will tear your defenses down and build you back up!

I read this book because it was on a list of books that will make you ugly cry. I sure did cry. This book has so much emotion. It deals with cancer and the lives it takes. Samantha is an extraordinary person and I wanted to jump into the book and hug her. She runs Last Resort where people go to die. There many things happen, some really great things and some really horrible things. It's a great book, an ending that stays with you and leaves you wanting more.

Review

description

120 Days by M. Stratton is a book that no matter how many times and ways I’ve tried to label it, cannot be placed in one specific place. It’s a book of love. One of hope and one of growth and change. It’s an emotional story that right from the first page, grabs a hold of you and never let’s go.

This is my first experience with this author, and as such, I sort of went in blind to her writing style from previous books (regardless of whatever genre they may fall into), but once the first page was turned and the story began to unfold, I knew it wouldn’t be my last go round.

There was a way with words here that not only touched my heart, but left behind marks on my soul by the time I turned the last page. Marks that even now, a week later, are still there. I can still feel this book.

I suppose the reason I’ve had such a hard time sitting down and reviewing this is because the connection that I normally get when I read has been amplified. What brings Ethan and Samantha together at the beginning of this story and what carries them through right until the end, I have firsthand experience with.

Cancer.

I’m going to be honest. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to make it through this. I didn’t think my heart was equipped to read about something that was way too close to home for me, but I am so glad that I didn’t let it stop me because just like Ethan needed Last Resort, I needed this story.

I needed the hope that was poured into all of these pages. The happiness and the strength that both the characters that weren’t patients and the patients showed as the story progressed. The empowerment and fight that came from reading the real life inspirational stories that were placed at the end of it.

When I say that this book is life changing, it’s not me trying to sell it to you. It’s because it’s true. Because it changed mine.

The way Ethan’s brother’s journal entries on a chapter to chapter basis connected so fluidly to what took place within each chapter was fantastic. His happiness and joy, his pain and his fear as he lived out his remaining days, they all connected to not only Ethan but Samantha as well, as these two beautiful human beings (although Ethan was a little rough around the edges at the start), found happiness, both in each other and on their own.

I would like to be able to say this book ends with a happily ever after. That cancer didn’t touch these two other more than it already had with her parents and his brother, and they rode off into the sunset together at the end, but I can’t. That’s what made this book so incredible though because while it didn’t end in the traditional romance sense, it did end beautifully.

Sacrifices were made, lives were forever altered, but the one thing that remained true through it all was that it was all infused with the deepest of loves.

I want to be able to say more, but it is my belief that in order to truly feel the effects of this story, to grasp the real meaning in its pages, you have to experience it for yourself. You need to read it. Feel it. No amount of breaking it down or retelling the plot will do it the justice it truly deserves.

M. Stratton and everyone else involved in letting me receive an ARC of this book before release, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was a journey that I’m so very thankful that I took and one that long after that last page was turned will stay with me.

Thank you for sharing Ethan and Samantha’s story with the world.

I began this book late last night and had to force myself to put it down so I could get some sleep. It is Saturday, but I was up at dawn and immediately started reading. I had to get to the end. I finished this book not 15 minutes ago and I am still crying. The tears are slowing but let me say that I bawled like a baby. Ugly cry is not an understatement for this one. It is definitely going in my special folder of books to read again and again.

The book begins with Ethan, a very wealthy and powerful but unhappy man. His brother, Evan, comes to tell him he is dying and rather than spending time together, he wishes to say good-bye and not have Ethan take care of him in his final days or witness his death. Can you imagine? I can’t. Samantha runs Last Resort. Consider it a combination of hospice care and the Make a Wish foundation. People go there to embrace life while they still can and to die with dignity, on their own terms. Ethan seeks out Last Resort to find out if it is everything his brother claimed or if something sinister is taking place. He gets his answers and so much more.

I have read well over a hundred books this year. If I count the books I have read over the past 365 days, the number is well over three hundred. Many books have touched me. Several have made me sad. A few have made me cry. Only one has caused the ever dreaded “ugly cry”. This is that one.

The chemistry between Ethan and Sam was hard to feel at first but be patient. When it hit me, it hit hard and it never eased. I suspect that this story is one that will be stuck in my head for a long time to come. This book is “book hangover” epic, despite its simplicity. There were a couple of parts that stretched my ability to suspend disbelief. Certain events take place that are so unlikely, it distracted me from the main story line. However, that element of fantasy would absolutely be necessary to make Last Resort what it should have been. Every hospice facility should seek to make Last Resort a reality, or at least as real as it can be.

There is so much more I want to write about this book but I don’t want to give anything away. I don’t want to discourage anyone from reading it and I certainly don’t want to ruin or mar the impact of reading it for the first time. I would like to say that if you do read it and feel the way I felt when I read it, don’t stop at the end of the story. Read the next part. It is worth the extra few minutes of your time.

If you are looking for something erotic, naughty, or a little dirty. Pass on this one. That is not what this is about and adding that element would have distracted from the overall story. If you want a story that has a deeper meaning than most romance novels or love stories, this will do it for you.

I absolutely loved 120 Days by M Stratton. This is a beautifully written book about cancer that also has real life stories intertwined within. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I loved the emotional rollercoaster it took me on.

Ethan is a hard working man who built his business from the ground up and never takes time to enjoy life. His parents were killed when he was young and he was left to take care of his younger brother. He is completely devastated when his brother Evan comes to his office to tell him that he is dying of cancer and he wants to spend his last days alone. After Evan's funeral, Ethan is given a journal that Evan wrote in up until his final days. He finds out that Evan spent his final days at a place called Last Resort where he did lots of fun things everyday that helped him enjoy the little life he had left. Ethan decides to visit last resort to find out what the place is really about. What will happen when he finds himself never wanting to leave as he gets close to the owner and the other people living out their final days there?

Samantha started Last Resort after she lost both of her parents to cancer. She knows how important those final days are so she tries to make the residents happy and grant some of their final wishes. She wants them to be somewhere that they feel comfortable when they finally leave this Earth. She stays with the residents and hold their hands until they take their final breath. Sam has never been one to take time for herself and spends all of her time at Last Resort. When Ethan comes to work there he is able to get her to take time for herself. The more they spend time together the stronger their feelings for another get. Will Samantha be able to let herself get involved in a relationship and still manage Last Resort? Will the relationship last when Sam tells him the secret she has been hiding from him?

I loved the deep connection between Samantha and Ethan. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. It was heartbreaking to read all the stories at the end that the book was based on. This is a book about loss, finding love, letting go and learning how to move on in life after tragedy strikes. I highly recommend this book but please have lots of tissues handy because it is a definite tear jerker.

Gifted for an honest review – 4 stars (Reviewed for Chicks Controlled by Books)
M Stratton brings us the tale of Ethan and Samantha in a highly emotional story which revolves around cancer. Yes, that ugly thing that touches 1 in 3 people. Right off the bat you know that this is going to pull you in all kinds of directions but in particular - the way to the tissues. There are so many instances throughout this story that catch you a little off guard and have those tears springing to your eyes. Due to the nature of the Resort that is the focal point to this book, the reader is regaled with many a tale of people’s lives and how they lived it, and subsequently how they see fit to spend their last days. Ethan’s brother was a resident, and Ethan struggles to deal with it emotionally, looking for another angle to the resort and the woman that owns/runs it.
It doesn’t take long for him to become enamoured with Samantha and the reader slowly watches Ethan’s life do a tail spin. Everything he thought he knew about living his life, he begins to question. The man grows on you, from being emotionally closed off to flourishing and basking in Samantha’s unselfish light. I loved the brother connection; it was as if Ethan got to know him all over again even though he had died. Going to the resort is a life changing event for both Ethan and Samantha. Excellent character development all round, with such a myriad of amazing people that make up the resort.
I’m not one for enjoying an ugly cry book for the most part, I find they pull my mood down but that wasn’t so much the case here. The way that M Stratton wrote the story gave it a kind of light. The emotion is all there if you find this kind of read your thing, it should definitely be on the ugly cry list. The personal connection with the author and the story is something that has appeal; I guess I always know I’m getting a good read when a book comes totally and utterly from the heart. And this one most certainly did. Definitely recommended….but please keep those tissues handy x

This is my first read from M.Stratton and it will not be my last, this is a very hard review to write as I am emotionally wowed.

Ethan is a business man who is selfish and cold hearted, he has been through loss in his life and has thrown all of his focus and energy into work and money.

Ethan receives an unexpected visit from his estranged brother Evan. Evan drops the bombshell that he has terminal cancer and has decided he doesn't want Ethan to watch him die so he has come to say goodbye,

Ethan doesn't want to accept this and tries to no avail to find him.

When Ethan gets news of Evans passing he is given Evans journal which is the key to Evans last days. Evan spent the time he had left and exceeded the Drs expectations at a place called last resort.

Last resort is where the terminally ill can go to die with others facing the the same fate, they will be granted their final wishes and dreams with a group that will become family to them, last resort is run by a selfless woman named Sam who makes it her sole purpose to fulfill the dreams of the guests and also when the time comes, hold their hand and let them know that it is ok to stop fighting and let go,

Ethan travels to lost resort convinced that Sam is conning the sick out of money, he takes a job there planing to uncover Sam as a schemer.

After initially being suspicious of the other Sam and Ethan realize that they are not what they suspected and they fall in love.

What follows is a beautiful story of learning to grieve, change, growth and new beginnings and unfortunately with the nature of the resort there will also be loss.

Ethan changes his whole outlook on life and what's important while Sam learns that it's ok to let someone in and to accept help.

This book also includes the story's of the real people whose stories made this book, it will make you laugh, warm your insides and leave you sobbing. But if there is one thing you take from this book I hope you take from it what I did which is to LOVE HARDER!!

Thank you M.Stratton for opening my eyes and sharing this beautifully written story.

There are truly not enough words to describe how blown away I was by M. Stratton's stunning and breathtaking 120 Days... A book that had me messaging the author because this heartbreaking yet hopeful story was stellar. The story follows Ethan McGregor, a successful business man set on being the best at his job and closing the big deals. One day his younger brother Evan unexpectedly stops by and reveals that he has terminal cancer. Ethan is shocked and tells Evan that he'll get him the best treatment but Evan tells him it's too late. The reason he is there is to say goodbye.

This moment it a catalyst for change in Ethan's life. The heartbreak over his brother and Evan''s journal leads Ethan to go to the place his brother spent the last days of his life, Last Resort. While this place sounds like a haven for those terminally ill, Ethan wonders if it's a scam. While he goes to investigates he meets the resort owner, Samantha "Sam" Truman, a woman will not only challenge Ethan but also lets him see the reason why Last Resort is such a special place.

I don't think I ever read a book that had me reaching for the Kleenex box three percent into the story like 120 Days... by M. Stratton did. In fact I reached for it a few times. I'm sure you're thinking well, of course it's sad because it's a book about people dying. The thing is it's so much more. It's about living life to the fullest as much as possible. Embracing it, appreciate every sunrise and sunset you have the privilege of seeing. It's about not taking life for granted because you never know what's going to happen. So much happens in this story that it you will go through every emotion as you read it. 120 Days is a beautiful story about love, being the best person possible, laughing, and living. M. Stratton poured so much love into this book. You read it in every single page of the story through Ethan, Sam, and all the people at Last Resort. If there is a book you should read, 120 Days... is it.

I have ready EVERYTHING that M. Stratton has written & I love her twisted mind, so when I read 120 days, to say I was a little apprehensive was a understatement. I am use to demented killers, creepers & delicious ways someone can be offed. But this is a wonderful story to #LoveHarder.

Ethan McGregor is a successful businessman. He has made himself up from nothing. He gets a unexpected visit from his brother Evan, who he hasn't seen in years. But this visit does't end on a happy note. Evan has cancer and he has come to say goodbye for the last time. Ethan is in shock but soon comes back and wants to take over Evan's medical care and get him to the best doctors in the world. Evan declines, he knows there is no chance for recovery and he wants to live out his last days like he wants to. When Evan leaves, Ethan is in a state of shock.

87 days later, Ethan is reading Evan's journal he wrote while a some place called Last Resort. His entrees make this place sound like heaven on earth. But he needs to find this place because surely this is just a scam and he will take it down.

Sam Truman, owner & operator of Last Resort, which she started in honor of her parents who didn't win the battle over cancer. She devotes her time/money to make this a place for people to spend their days as happily as they can. She won't turn anyone away if they can't pay the cost of staying .

120 days is the average time a client stays at Last Resort. What happens when Ethan figures out that Sam is not pulling a scam on people and Sam finds out how to let people in . Not everyone she loves leaves her.

Get this story and find out what happens when you #LoveHarder

This is an amazing book of love, loss and the strength to move on. Life should be lived to the fullest, have no regrets and remember that love can heal you in ways you never imagined. After the death of his parents Ethan had to change his entire life to take care of his little brother. Evan became his world and nothing else really mattered. Now several years later Ethan has become somewhat harden in life. He never really has a private life or enjoys the small things. Fate decides to give Ethan's life another blow Evan dies from cancer. Now with no understanding of the cruel ways life has punished him Ethan goes on a path to find where Evan found his acceptance towards death. Ethan not only finds this hidden place but also the one thing he has been missing his entire life true love. Samantha lost both of her parents to cancer and instead of letting grief consume her she opened an amazing place where people can find solitude in their final days. A place where their families don't have to watch them die. Samantha spends her life helping people find the closure thet need and acceptance that they have no control over their deaths. Life decides to step in and give Ethan and Sam a miracle, a love so pure it can never be tainted.
This was the first book I have read by M Stratton. It was beautifully written and you could feel all the emotions of the characters. The plot was very original and showed an amazing journey through lifes unexpected twits and turns. I must admit I was a sobbing mess when I finished this book. I also found that it reminds me that everyones story is different yet beautiful in its own way. This is a book you will not want to miss.
I was gifted a copy for an honest review.

When starting this book I was warned I was gonna cry I will say I held it together up until 75% in I could already feel where it was headed. I don't want to you to think this is "Cold hearted Chick" I'm not.
When helping my mom when my Dad passed away 2 years from a Brain Aneurysm I had to be so strong for her since she literally heart broken for a whole year. I grew a tough exterior and learned to hold in my breakdowns.
Anyways back to this book review I enjoyed this story Ethan and Sam. I loved that Samantha helped so many people that she put everyone else's needs above hers. I loved that she made wished come true. I loved that she made a comfort space for people to die in. I loved that she dealt everyone in there own unique way. I loved that Sam found love. What broke the camels back was this "She hadn’t been completely honest with him, really with anyone. She knew that once she and Ethan became close, she should have opened up to him, but she didn’t know how to. What words could she say? She was kicking herself for letting things get as far as they had." I knew that with both of her parents dying of cancer something was wrong that just broke my heart being pregnant and battling something horrible.
Ethan's his brothers letter were amazing just reading them I felt his love and devotion to his brother and I knew what he did was right not letting Ethan see him waste away to Stupid Cancer. I loved how he knew Sam would be his perfect match. I loved how he wanted to take care of her. I loved that his way of life changed not for Sam but for him. I loved how he appreciated life better. I loved he understood why people choose to die that way vs. with family. I loved that he had a purpose.

This book is a must read. Thank you M. Stratton for writing this.

120 Days…this is going to be a hard review to put into words. Why? Because this book was so full of love and emotion that I don’t think a review can do it justice, but I’m going to try.

Ethan is a man who has worked hard his whole life. He’s built a successful business. When his brother comes to him to say he’s dying of cancer, Ethan can’t believe it. After the funeral he reads his brother’s journal and finds out he spent his final days at Last Resort. A place he’d never heard of, but intends to find everything about.

Sam is the owner of Last Resort. She built it for people to have a place to go for their final days. She gives them what they need and makes as many of their wishes come true as possible. She sees the effect it has on them. They are happy. They live longer than expected, but in the end, they still leave this earth. She’s there holding their hand, telling them to they can let go.

When Ethan shows up at the resort and begins working there, it’s not what he expected. Between his brother’s journal, the words of the guests, and Sam, he knows it’s a place he can never leave. Soon he finds himself attracted to Sam and what happens after is nothing like he ever expected.

M. Stratton wrote a brilliant, emotional romance. It’s a story of finding yourself, falling in love, and learning how to say goodbye. There are true stories intertwined in the book. Stories of real life people and what happened when their loved ones became sick with cancer. This story will pull at your heart and leave you with tears streaming down your face. Congrats to the author. This is a book very well told.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review...

First I want to say how honored I feel to be one of the selected few who were given an ARC of 120 Days. This story is deeply emotional and having read it, I can stay it has a lasting impression on me.

Ethan is a hard working man who has built his business from the ground up. After loosing both his parents to a drunk driver, he raised both himself and his brother on his own.

When his brother surprises him with a visit with life changing news, Ethan is beside himself. With no way to help his only brother he thrust himself deeper into his work until the moment he receives the news he knew would come...

Desperate for answers, he visits the place his brother spent his final days.

After losing both her parents, Samantha decides to start up a place for cancer patients to spend their final days, wanting to make any and all their dreams come true while providing them with a loving a caring environment. Her effects are praised among all who have stayed at Last Resort

It doesn't take Ethan long to find out what is special about the place his brother spent his last days. With the change he feels with himself after meeting Samantha and experiencing the true beauty of what she has created, he has to ask himself if he can ever truly go back to the man he was before.

Ms. Stratton's 120 Days will pull so many emotions from you! You will cry, you will laugh, you will smile and you will feel the love this book was created from. The inspired characters are also shared with you as well which is super special. I love this book and I will never ever forget it!

He leaves his company and applies for a job at Last Resort. From the moment he arrives there the place and its residents weaves its way slowly under his skin changing him forever.Samantha also gets under his skin and finds himself falling for her.Samantha is also falling for Ethan, seeking him out to spend time with him.As Ethan spends more time there he finds himself falling in love with Last Resort and what it offers people reaching the end of their lives can he ever go back to the way he lived his life before does he want too?

120 Days. Such a beautiful love story. Romantic love, family love and most of all, undconditonal love. Last Resort was started by compassionate Samantha, who was compelled to create a safe, fun, brave and understanding place for terminal cancer patients to live out their last days, weeks, months, with dignity and grace. Ethan traveled to Last Resort after his brother Evan had lost his battle and discovered where he had spent his final days, as described through his journal that had been given to him. Ethan had a pre-conceived notion that Last Resort was in the business of milking money from the terminally ill, but he didn't count on meeting Samantha, and the "guests" and falling in love. In love with Samantha for the amazing woman she was, in love with the guests whose stories and struggles had a very emotional impact on him and in love with the place that gave his beloved brother some peace in his final days.

120 Days will make you weep. Many of the "guests" are based on actual beautiful people who faced the demon of cancer and lost their battles. Those people made this story so much more real for me. 120 Days is Gut wrenching, Beautiful and a must read. M. Stratton put her heart and soul into this book. I can only hope it can be a friend and comfort to those in need, patients and loved ones, who can identify with these battles, and find comfort in familiarity...even when fighting for your life... there will always be love.

120 days….that’s like 4 months give or take. Sounds like plenty of time to plan for trips, set goals, get ready for the holidays…you know..the fun stuff. But 120 days takes on a completely different meaning when that’s the average amount of time you have left on this earth.

What an emotional read. I was blown away by the emotional roller coaster that this story took me on. I knew I was in trouble when just a few pages in I felt my throat clench and tears well up in my eyes. Beautiful, the concept of allowing those with little time left to experience life to the fullest. To allow them the opportunity to leave this earth with dignity having lived till their last moments.

I had a feeling that the book would not only be the journey of Evan’s passing and Ethan coming to terms with his loss. There was sooo much love. Not just between Samantha and Ethan but of the many faces we come to meet along the way at their stay at the Last Resort. But I had a feeling while reading that M. Stratton was about to throw me for another loop and there may or may not have been hints but none the less she crushed me.

There is no way that you can possibly read this book and not be affected. Take what it from you will, understanding, love, the ability to cope or strength to carry on. But do yourself a favor and read this book.

I am not even sure where to start with this review because this story will mean so much to everyone that reads it. It is a soul scorching beautiful story. I will tell you bring a box of tissues, and don't read lying down next to someone that is sleeping because you may or may not sob (you will! take my advice). Even though this book tore at my heartstrings multiple times it was still a beautiful journey of love and devotion.

Knowing the meaning behind this book makes me even more proud of M. Stratton for writing this because there is no way I would have been able to do it. She poured her heart and soul into this story and I am so freaking proud of her and how it turned out.

This is definitely a 5 star read! This book is way more than just a romance journey, I can't even put in to words how your emotions will go all over the place when reading this... just when you think your heart can't take anymore you will find that you can and you will because you have to know what happens in the end.

This story will forever hold a place in my heart.. Just remember what you need to take away from this story Live Life To The Fullest.. don't let the small things get in your way and cherish the people around you because you never know when they will have there last 120 days.

Thank you for this great book and sharing it with the world! Go get this book now!

A touching story about the terminally ill people who survive a bit longer than they are expected at a place called The Last Resort. A place where they die in dignity and do what they never experience. They come there so their family will not watch them suffer or they have no place to go.

The founder is Samantha Truman who privately funds the place. It is her tribute to her parents who both end up dying from terminal cancer earlier on. Their determination to survive kept them alive for longer than was expected as she wants to give hope to people with a few extra days.

Ethan McGregor has always been busy making money, at first when his parents died in a car accident and having to raise his younger brother Evan. He is lost after Evan’s death since his brother did not want his help when he told him that he was dying and walked away. Now after his death, he is left with a journal telling his last days.

Ethan applies for a job there wanting to expose the place a fraud. But he is soon swept up in the residence and their fight to live. Along the way he manages to fall for the owner and vice versa. Will these two be able to get their happy ever after or will life throw them a curve ball? A touching story about surviving death.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

120 Days is a really great book. It isn’t just a book about cancer and what comes with it, it is about love and to live your life to the fullest. To be happy. It’s a beautiful story that shows us what’s really important in life.
The whole book makes you think about life and what you would do for the people you love.

It’s a story about love, heartbreak, loss and strength. Already at the beginning I was sucked in by the emotional writing of the M. Stratton. I could easily relate to the characters and their situations and was overwhelmed more than once by their emotions. I have to admit that it wasn’t easy to read this book, it was very emotional and I couldn’t prevent myself from crying.

It is a really emotional story and I can only recommend 120 Days because it makes you look at life differently. The author makes you think about more than just your everyday life – because life is more than that.
It is a really amazing book and I can’t wait to read more of M. Stratton.

This book is so amazing, I can't even put the words together to write this review
I have never cried so much in a book, the crying at times involved putting the book down to compose myself but as soon as I was done I jumped right back in as the story had me hooked. 120 Days... is so heartbreaking yet beautifully written at the same time and the story is absolutely magical.Yes it's a book about cancer but it's a positive book about cancer and I really wish there was a place out there like the place M Stratton had created.
The characters are all amazing and when I found out they were based on real people I cried some more, thank you to the family's for sharing your journey and story with us. At the heart of the story is Ethan and Sam and the chemistry between them is amazing and together they are unstoppable.
120 Days... is now sitting in my Top Reads list
