Rebecca Winters, born Rebecca Brown Burton, was the author of over 175 romance novels published with Harlequin, delighting readers worldwide for more than 35 years. Her stories, translated into many languages, have sold nearly thirty million copies. A French teacher turned novelist, she combined her love of language, family, and storytelling into a remarkable literary legacy.
As Naksed says quite often, Great Big Terrible Misunderstandings can be quite irritating. I will roll my eyes occasionally, but there are far worse tropes and stupid plot points that are much worse. Until now.
This heroine has to be the dumbest, the most emotional, least rational heroine I have read in a long time or ever. Given the genre and sub-genre we're reading, that's saying something. Look at the faces of her little cherubs on the cover. Even they know something's up.
Nitwit finally wakes and remembers her life from her looonnnnngggg amnesiac state. She freaks when she sees her husband, the best, most patient, long suffering hero in RomanceLand. Turns out he's her brother. The deathbed confession from his father who, along with her mother, allowed her to marry her supposed half brother. Reality check number one.
She freaks when she sees him. She freaks when she sees her daughter - oh no the genetic dice roll!!! She freaks some more when she finds out that in addition to one possible genetic oddity, she has three. Triplets: one girl, two boys. Yep, one trope is still in place, the incredibly magically multiplying sperm of a Harlequin Italian alpha-romero hero. I guess we have to toss in the magically mutliplying eggs of the h if I recall basic biology. (I jest, but it may be true. We have Italian-American friends from New Jersey. Her maiden name is Santorelli; married name is Travaglia. She knew, KNEW, she was having all boys as there are no girls on her husband's side of the family dating back seven generations! Seven! Gypsy curse maybe. Anyhoo, back to our Italian.) She decides to stick around with her husband brother, but doesn't say why she's giving him the cold shoulder. In all the different ways she can break his heart, she picks door number two. Why tell him the very reasonable concern that they are half-siblings when he can just think she either doesn't love him anymore or possibly found someone else? Hmm. Even the shrink tells her to tell the H.
To add more examples to how big of an idiot she is, she fires the nannies as she wants to be the acting mother. Hey, I am not a nanny fan unless they are the h, but triplets! You need help girl.
Big misunderstanding is cleared up from an infallible source. Is the infallible source DNA? No, it's Aunt somebody. Heavy sigh.
Yes, as many reviewers have pointed out, it was sweet they loved each other. The hero is a keeper, but I prefer active brain cells in my heroines.
4½ Stars ~ This one for me was an unputdownable book. From the first pages, Ms Winters had me hooked. (plus I'm a sucker for amnesia stories)
For a year Tracey has been fleeing a dark secret that has almost destroyed her. After months in a coma, she wakes up in a rehabilitation hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland, with no memory of her past and where she comes from. Slowly memories are prodded from the depths of her mind, but there is one memory that holds the key to everything and the source of the nightmares that plague her sleep. When the memory finally awakens, Tracey now knows the truth. A truth so devastating that she deserts her new husband and goes into hiding. She hires lawyers to send Julien divorce papers, praying he signs them and gets on with a life without her. But there's one part of her memory still locked up and that's the months she'd been on her own and the accident itself.
Julien has been beside himself with anguish, worried what possibly could cause his wife to abandon their marriage. When her location is finally revealed he faces the very real possibility that she may not survive her injuries. For months he sits by her bed while she's in coma, and when she awakens her mind refuses to remember him. But Julien isn't about to give up, he needs his wife and so do the three babies she gave birth to while she was missing. So he agrees to give her the divorce she wants if only she stays with him in their marriage for 30 days. And then he introduces her to her triplets and suddenly the last of Tracey's memory block lifts. For Tracey the reality of their marriage is almost unendurable and vows that Julien will never learn the truth, for it will destroy him.
Some of the scenes where Tracey sees the pain she is inflicting on Julien are so poignant. They are true soulmates and because this is a Harley I always knew there would be HEA. And their is a truly satisfying one.

Tracey is in Switzerland recovering from a head injury that gave her amnesia for months. When she finally does remember, she realizes she has triplets and is married to Julien Chappelle. She also remembers Julien's father, Henri's deathbed confession - he had a brief affair with her mother. She thinks Henri was her father and ran away, thinking she and Julie are half brother/sister. Julien persuades her to stay with him for a month before he'll sign the divorce papers. They're still very much in love, but she finally confesses to him. Then Aunt Rose finally reveals it's her sister Isabelle that's Henri's daughter, not Tracey.
Interesting plot twist, so-so story.

The first chapter opens with the h finally getting her memory back after a horrendous accident. She has been confined in a special hospital for coma patients. She has blocked out lots of memory to stop her from hurting. But will her husband let her leave? This book is about amnesia and why some people block out the pain of heart break. I have read this book before and still found the angst and other drama still kept me thinking about it long afterwards.
Sejak kecelakaan yang menimpa dirinya Tracey mengalami amnesia. Meski belum pulih benar, namun perlahan ingatannya mulai kembali.
Sanggupkah Tracey ? Tak adakah jalan keluar terbaik ?
A good read. I finished it during a snow day so it took me maybe 2 ... 2 and 1/2 hours tops to read it. Yes, it's in English, and no I haven't learned a new language just to read trashy romance novels.
This is pure romance. No sex. It's good but got annoyingly sappy at parts.
Tracey wakes up in a rehabilitation hospital with no recollection of why she is there. Turns out, she's been in an accident and has sustained head injuries. All this comes back to her when she hears her "husband"'s voice. But ... wait .. husband?
Oh yeah. Julien. The love of her life since she was 8. Why is he still her husband. She very vividly remembers filing divorce papers ... if it weren't for the babies she wouldn't ... wait ... babies?
Try triplets.
Like I said it gets sappy and slow. I would only recommend this book if you like romances, you need something to read on a slow day or if you are going to the beach for a while.
Despite her amnesia, Tracey can't forget one thing - the devastating secret that forced her to run out on Julien Chappelle four days after their honeymoon. She wants a divorce. Julien wants his wife back. And he's prepared to fight for her: he'll agree to a divorce if Tracey will live with him for thirty days...and nights!
But what Tracey hasn't counted on is that Julien has more than just memories on his side. A set of adorable triplets who need their mom to come home. It seems Tracey has only one motive for leaving and three compelling reasons why she should stay.
I mean, they have triplets son and thinking they might be defected because of your fault is so heart breaking. Then he's afraid to tell him 'cause he might get hurt so she kept it to herself. The man is really sweet and all and I really really admire him.
Anyway, the girl was an IDIOT for not asking others the truth and just thinking on herself. But she's cool and all...
THIS REALLY MADE MY EYES HURT. Thinking something like that would happen to me...but it was a happy ever after.
Buku pertama Rebecca Winters yang dibaca kira2 jutaan taon yang lalu *lebay*, waktu harlequin harganya masih 10rb,hehehe.... Suka sama ceritanya, walaupun sekarang sudah agak2 lupa gimana jalan ceritanya.
