Frost Station Alpha was published in six parts, with new episodes available each week, and should not be read as a standalone. It is available as a Complete Series (Frost Station Alpha, #1-6).
This said the following review is for the complete installment.
Genetically optimized human race was nuked when the government saw them as a threat. Some of them survived in cryogenic chambers to wake up 150 years later and find themselves starving on a destroyed moon, thus some men go on a bloody mission to blackmail the government for help. They kill all soldiers and kidnap the scientists as well as a communications officer on a nearby space station. While this story definitely does not speak for a very nice group of people, and I have morally a hard time to excuse the decision to kill so many innocent people, the action and romance where just great. Well done!

So that whole uneasiness I had over the fact Makk has only thoughts about screwing Tamryn thing? AMPLIFIED. Originally Makk didn't want to give her the interrogation drug because he didn't her to be drugged into submitting to him sexually (which apparently is what this drug does as is evidenced by one of Tamryn's scientist friends all but strips Makk and herself down and beg for him to screw her). I thought better of him for this and the fact he bluntly (if in his version of "playfully") asked her if seducing her would work.

For a guy who's been keen to get in her pants for the like two hours they've known each other (yeah I don't get time in this book), and who hasn't had sex in 150 years AND already masturbated to the idea of sexing her up, that's oddly commendable.

So of course when Tamryn gets injected with the drug (sort of accidentally) and it halfway works on her--at least insofar as her flirting with him--I expected him to DO THE RIGHT THING. Instead, after mild reluctance at the wrongness and how he's pretty sure she's not fully drugged, he happily (if a tad bit warily) follows her to her room. And makes out with her. And eagerly decides to allow her to start giving him a blowjob.

I can't even.

Also, just throwing this out there, but HE KILLED MANY OF HER COMRADES. Sure not as gleefully as say Braxx, his cohort, but he still did. She witnessed him coldbloodedly shoot her XO through his eye with a laser rifle! SHE SAW THE MASSACRE HE PARTICIPATED IN. He literally hunted through shafts. He's used intimidation and whether he had meant to or not the threat of sexual violence against her!

THERE IS NOTHING THAT SHOULD MAKE HER FEEL AROUSED HERE.

Ordinarily speaking I don't go near these sorts of romances because it boggles my mind. Arguments could be made for some of the romances I read where kidnapping is a big part of the "meeting" of the H/hr, but very very few of them come close to this level of power imbalance. He's proven at this point he won't interfere on her behalf for most actions made/said. Its really only because the others believe she's his little toy that she hasn't been hurt or worse. And in all honesty I don't know if she were to genuinely threaten his people's safety if he'd defend her. I know for a fact she won't defend him except to perhaps say he's "not as bad as the others". If this was a PWP I wouldn't be so aggrieved but I expect better from Lionsdrake an a book that is clearly designated a "romance".

Tamryn decides that she might be able to use her feminine wiles against the super human with his super large, super muscled, super well endowed… ah, what was I saying?
Never mind.
***
No matter how intense his fantasy, he hadn’t quite been able to forget that she was a prisoner and that his actions were deplorable. (Kindle Locations 1228-1229).

Well, that makes me feel better. He doesn’t believe in forcing women. Snorts. Like he has to.
Tamryn is annoyed at how the chief science officer comes on to Makkon under truth drugs. Getting a little bit territorial there, girl?

Now there’s another ship saying it’s been damaged and needs to dock. And nobody thinks it’s legit. Space pirates?

Action packed continuation of serialized book.

I am really enjoying Ruby Liondrake's writing. She is among a small group of writer who have good characters, that a reader can relate to. I highly recommend this serialized book.
