Beck Nash arrives in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide division with a shaky reputation and a lot to prove. Her first moments a disaster, she gets the chance to redeem herself with her first murder investigation and a sympathetic new partner.Trying to adjust to the mold, and no idea how she’s going to adapt her questionable investigative techniques to her new position, Beck's only goal is to make it to week’s end. But as shocking as the first day of her first week in Homicide turns out, it will be nothing compared to her last.21 Weeks is a fast-paced police procedural thriller series that ramps up in intensity with each victim that falls until its explosive final week.
I read all the weeks at one go and really enjoyed them. This book being the first 7 weeks, it sets the premise for the whole story. A good start to set the tone for the remaining weeks focusing on the characters with some drama that Nash has to deal with at the personal front. It felt a little like reading Rizzoli and Isles but definitely with more umph in the quality of cases and investigation. The drama is also not as lighthearted, which I believe is the intent. I’d give this book a 4.5 as a stand-alone but the whole series definitely deserve a 5 for me. The cases and drama escalate accordingly in the following series and I found myself unable to put the book down as the climax approaches towards the end. When I finished reading everything I didn’t want the story to end and that’s how I know it’s an overall 5 star for me.
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
