For me this was better than the previous book 'Casstiel's Vow' partly because I liked Nora more than Tessa, she certainly didn't annoy me as much and for me the story was stronger and it's looking good for the rest of the series.
Nora may be bonded to Quinn but she doesn't like it, she's suffered unbelievably in the past at the hands of someone claiming to be her mate and so she's finished with mates and men. As you can see Quinn has his work cut out for him but he's determined to win her over.
We get their romance along with the start of another two, one's dreaming of his mate and one actually finds her. The story really comes into itself and we get a much clearer picture of the horrors the hunters have been inflicting on the Breed.
Problems:
If I'm being totally honest for me the romance/bond between Nora and Quinn was dragged out far too much, I understand her past and I know this was their book but it took up too much time instead of moving the story forward.
Now this could be me, I'm all about the romance until you throw an interesting story in there and then I just need to follow that so I found this frustrating at times.
And like the previous book it needs editing:
".......If I would have realized it before, I would have went off in search of her,”
In fairness it didn't seem quite as bad as the previous one but it's bad enough to interrupt the flow since I'm having to re-read bits.
I'm not sure when the next book will be released but I'll be looking out for it.

Now we are getting Nora's story with her and Quinn. And if you read the first book (which you kind of have to) you know that neither Quinn or Nora have a good history going into this relationship. Especially Nora with how she was turned, she has huge trust issues.

Quinn will do anything he can to find his werewolf brothers that were taken by the Hunters but while this doing this he also has to try to heal his bonded mate Nora. But don't think it will be easy between these two. They are both very stubborn and have the need to feel wanted by each other. At the same time, they each have to get through a lot of struggles to find the love that each wants from each other.

I loved that. This is a different kind of story with some history that we get to see them walk through, but Nora doesn't make it easy. These girls in these books are strong characters that kick a$$ and love doing it. I do enjoy it.

I don't even know where to begin. I have been anxiously awaiting this second book in The Breed Series. I absolutely loved Casstiel's Vow which is book 1. Also these books must be read in order.

Quinn: I love me some Quinn! I have been a fan of Quinn since book 1, I loved the mystery surrounding him, his lone wolf personality, and his ability to surpass any other member of The Breed. While he can be impulsive ("Does anyone know how to drive this boat back?") he is a weapon of mass destruction. He is also completely in love with Nora and willing to demonstrate infinite patience to win her heart.

"This would be the longest game he'd ever played, the World Series of his own life, and at the end, if he could endure it, he would receive the greatest prize of them all."

That sums up Quinn. He knows what he wants, and he wants Nora. With some help from friends (Tess and Memphis) he dedicates his time and energy to being the man she needs.

Nora: I'll be honest she irritated the crap out of me in book 1. She was incessantly talking and while pushing Tessa into her relationship with Casstiel wouldn't take the same leap herself. In book 2 we learn the horrifying truth of her past. Rescued from a living nightmare her physical scars have healed but her emotional wounds are still fresh. Alice K. Wayne described the long term effects of living with PTSD in careful and accurate detail. I often found myself in tears and hyperventilating with with Nora. Nora is faced with an impossible choice: ignore her one destined mate or face her greatest fear. She has lived her life with an iron grip of control after she escaped the trauma of her past and being with Quinn requires her relinquishing her control.

The fight between The Breed and The Hunters intensifies. There was amazing and brutal violence, including an amazing scene showing how incredible snipers can be in the right situation.

We also get to catch up with Tessa and Casstiel the couple from book 1. Tessa has continued to thrive and come into her own. She has truly grown into the woman she was meant to be and continues to be an asset and secret weapon to The Breed. Casstiel even seemed happier and more settled in their relationship, which I didn't think would be possible.

We also meet a ton of new characters. I cannot wait to see who is featured in Book 3 and if Sebastien will meet his elusive mate who is haunting his dreams.

Memphis' character was also featured frequently in this book, becoming more than just a father figure for Nora. I am definitely interested to see what is in store for him.

Max continued to provide much needed comic relief.

The Breed is truly at its strongest when all it's members are united. Quinn and Nora's relationship is a beautiful struggle. So very different from the loving mushiness that was Casstiel and Tessa. Quinn and Nora's witty banter and sarcastic come backs made their relationship both realistic and endearing. Including a particular hilarious scene featuring a nerdgasmic reference to Lord of the Rings.

As usual Alice K. Wayne's storytelling is excellent. I found myself hooked from the beginning. I definitely recommend one-clicking. Again, make sure you've read book 1 prior to this one or you will find yourself confused.

Alice K. Wayne has wrote another story that is awesome!! I fell in love with Castiel, but I was drawn toward Nora. I have been anxiously awaiting this book to come out. It exceeded my expectations! Nora has severe trust issues that she will need to overcome to be with the one of a kind, sexy Quinn. Quinn has also been scarred and put through hell, but is willing to do anything to be with Nora. With the sexy scenes, battles, and the mysterious 9 this book will turn its own pages!!

Well I am giving this 3.5 stars simply because I really enjoy the story/series itself but as with the first book there are a couple of things that I'm not too mad about. But firstly, let me say that this book should only be read after reading book 1 in this series as it follows from where that book left off and although this book is more about Nora and Quinn, there are characters from the previous book too. So for more understanding, follow the series in order.

Nora has bonded with Quinn but believes he is the cause of her recent PTSD flashbacks and fights against having a relationship with him. Quinn is nothing if not patient and steadily wears Nora down, even while still battling his own nightmares. This book is best described by a quote from the book itself: "two broken people finding a home within each other and learning to grow together".

Written from a multiple pov (which can be a bit confusing because at times it jumps from one person's pov to the next almost within the same paragraph but mostly runs fluidly), this book is a fast burn with a lot of different characters to keep track of. It is a paranormal romance and should not be read by those under 18 - it contains violence and hot, steamy sex scenes. Another issue I had with this book was the interruption during a sex scene with Nora and Quinn, where the author decided to go back to the other characters and what was happening with them before returning to Nora and Quinn - I want to scream when someone interrupts me at these times while I'm reading but the author doing that? Ok, I may be nit-picking a bit here because of yes, the world around the main couple didn't some to a stand still while they where getting all busy and understand that the author wanted to portray that but come on...

Anyway, will I be reading the next book in the series? Yes, because I need to know what finally happens with the Breed and who the "Nine" / traitors are. (This book does have a hea for the main couple - Nora & Quinn - but also ends with a semi-cliffhanger because not everything has been resolved.)

From the moment we meet Nora and Quinn in Casstiel's Vow and catch the angst and fear that come with their attraction, something that neither of them wants or needs, we know this is going to be a story that will break us and heal us in a way that we never expected.

Nora didn't ask for this life, and finding a reason to continue through it hasn't been easy. Between the attacks on the Breed and the attacks on her mind, finding a modicum of relief is probably the most difficult of wishes. But even in these moments, she knows the assault will begin anew, so the solace is short lived.

When Quinn enters the picture, a wild card to say the least, more questions are raised than answers given. Can he be trusted by the Breed? What is he anyway? What is this thing going on between him and Nora, and will this be the game changer for both of them?

My heart ached for each of them over the experiences they had to go through in their lives. I kept wondering if they were going to survive this new situation they found themselves in and whether they would find a way to work through the struggles that lay ahead of them.

This is truly becoming one of my favorite paranormal romance series'. It holds so many layers and so much excitement and action along with the heat that transpires between the main characters. There isn't one background character that doesn't belong and doesn't leave an imprint during the story. I want to know about all of them, and I want to see the Breed conquer their nemesis in so many ways. This one, in particular, hurt my heart from the beginning, and I just wanted to see some justice for these paranormal creatures. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one.

The Breed: Nora's Choice by Alice K. Wayne is the second book in this PNR series. Every book while inteterconnected could be read as standalone, I strongly recommend to read the books in order.
The previous book, The Breed Casstiel's Vow tells Tessa and Casstiel's story and is the begin for Quinn's too.
Nora is Tessa's best friend, the werewolf is a take no prisoner woamn, blunt and rude at times. Quinn is Tessa's brother and now that he's back they discover, nothing is as it seemed at the time. Quinn wasn't a captive of the Breed, and let me tell you, I was angry at that guy, really really angry. Who acts like that ??? No, just nope.
While the war rages on, the defense development has to fight for freedom and the lives of the citicen, human and pnr. Nora's Choice is a full length pnr novel, well written and told. 4 stars.

In even the best series there is often a bit of a disconnect between books. Especially when each book is supposed to focus on a different character. You can't focus on that character without leaving the character from the previous book behind. Right?
Alice K. Wayne just proved that WRONG on all levels!
Casstiel and Tessa were still just as present even though this was Nora's story. Yet they supported rather than overshadowing. Each character we were introduced to in Casstiel's Vow was there for us to get further tangled up in. The love, the steam, the heartbreak, the action. I don't know how but the author continued to build each and every part while introducing new twists and causing me to bite my finger instead of my snack as I gasped in surprise. I am so eager to see what comes next in this viciously beautiful series!

Great choit

The continuation of the story is just as good as the first book. Nora has lived through a lot and gotten hardened with the passage of so many years. She was so broken and yet so strong. Quinn did not suffer as many years but underwent an even worse trauma but didn't lose his humanity. To see them heal each other was phenomenal. I love all the other characters and can't wait for Sebastian to meet his forever love. I also want to see Ayla find her happy ever after. I see a lot of stories to follow. Will one be Breed Retribution?

I thought the second book is better than the first. I love Quinn and Nora. Nora is a strong bad ass Breed, but it's just a front to protect herself and suffers from severe PTSD. Quinn is as patient as ever and lets Nora set the pace. The war between the Breeds and Hunters continue. There's also great side stories with all the characters I love, Memphis, Sebastian and Remy. The ending left more questions and I really do hope there will be another book. I need my closure!

I am loving this series by Alice K. Wayne! Strong female characters, badass shifters, action and suspense- what's not to love? One thing I really enjoy, is that the author let's you get inside of more than just the two main character's heads. You get POV's from others, as well. Not enough for it to be distracting, but just enough to allow you to connect with them, too. This series caught my attention from the beginning, and I am really enjoying the ride!

I enjoyed the second instalment of the Breed. Nora is one of my favourite characters and I'm glad she is able to find her match in Quinn. You should read it to see if she will get out of her own way and actually let him get close to her.

Review:
When Alice K Wayne began the Breed series, we met Casstiel, a vampire sworn to help those in need and Tessa, a human telepath on the path to searching for her. Issuing brother taken by werewolves. During the search, both Nora and Quinn met one another with one goal in mind - to find the missing man. Although we did get the introduction from Nora's Choice in Casstiel's Vow, Alice K Wayne couldn't go into great detail and Nora came off as more aggressive and off putting without understanding why she acts that way.mall these small details are explained in Nora's Choice where new finally get to know the full truth of what made Nora act the way she does and how she became part of the Breeders. Quinn is also part of the Breeders but is a vampire with a past as dark and painful, sometimes crippling, as Nora's. With troubles between the Breeders and their enemies, the Hunters , getting worst every day, Nora and Quinn are shocked to realize that they are fated to be mates and yet as they spend more time with one another, their bond grows stronger - to a point where separation is almost painful. Considering I'm used to seeing bond mates between shapeshifters and other shapeshifters or with humans, seeing one with a vampire was incredibly different and kept me wanting to know more about this couple. The chemistry and the bond between Nora and Quinn were palpable, something that I could swear I felt every sigh, shiver and emotion rolling through their body. Nora's Choice is the second novel in Alice K Wayne's The Breed series and can't be read as a standalone, so it's important to read Casstiel's Vow to get a clear and precise idea of what has and is happening - the Breed series was a read that I couldn't believe I never heard about before.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

A monster can come in many forms; a killer, a rapist, or even a normal person who succumbs to the darkness within. However, in Alice K. Wayne's second book in The Breed series, Nora's Choice, we see that not every monster is bad, looks can be deceiving. Sometimes the scariest looking creatures can be protectors, fighters against evil, even lovers. The author has created a world full of vampires and werewolves, a.k.a. The Breed. While giving us a magical world of paranormal, she enlightens our hearts and souls with a beautiful love story.

Nora has been a part of the Breed for the past 100 years. Until recently she kept herself locked up tight surrounded only by ones she trusted the most. Her being turned into a Breed wasn't a thing of beauty or desire, but out of hatred and malice, not something wanted. Tainted by her past, Nora has kept herself in check never wanting a mate, never wanting to surrender to any man ever again. Or to feel the helplessness that could destroy her again. Until she meets Quinn Roberts and discovers that he is her true mate. But can Nora find the peace that comes with a mate?

Quinn Roberts is part of the Breed. He never felt like he belonged anywhere until he meet his pack mates and made the hard decision of becoming one of them. Not that his family wasn't awesome, he just needed something for himself. After deciding to become part of the Breed, he and his pack mates were captured by Hunters. Tortured, experimented on and some were killed ruthlessly. Turned into a "monster" by Breed standards, Quinn was able to escape and vowed vengeance against every Hunter that crossed his path. When Quinn is found and reconnects with his family and the Breeds, there is another who he longs for. Nora is his mate. Not understanding much about being part of the Breed, Quinn knows without a doubt that she was made just for him. But he will have to tread lightly to win over the hardened Nora, because her heart is so delicate that unless handled with care she will break.

This is an awesome story of passion, angst with mystical beauty. I was totally engaged from the beginning to end and when I did get to the end...I wanted more! Quinn and Nora's story was so much more than just a typical love story. The depth of each character’s creation as well as their emotional turmoil was perfectly drafted. I'm looking forward to the next exploit in the Breed series. Will it be Memphis, Sebastian, or Remy? I can't wait to find out!! I'm hooked Alice!

Okay so first I want to say if you have not read book one, stop right now and get it. This is book two and I feel that this is one series you will need to read in order to understand whats going on. Quinn and Nora meet in book one and this is a continuation of their story. Nora's been badly burn in the past and turn to a werewolf against her will by someone who was obsessed with her. Quinn finally felt like he knew where he belonged by asking to be turned by his local werewolf pack only a few days after turning, him and his entire pack was taken hostage. He was held hostage for years only breaking out and trying to find his old pack and taking care of any other those that took him and his pack. To say they have issues is an understatement. Quinn, even though he's been a werewolf for years, has no real clue of how the Breed work. Nora's not wanting to be bonded to anyone, because the last guy was criminally obsessed with her and turned her off of men. While they battle for each other, the hunters and the nine battle for control of the world. Again, this author does a great job of telling a story within a story. You have the battle of good and evil, the battle for love, and you have all these characters that come together to create a whole new world. I really think it also shows how good of a writer this author is because of the balance of all of these things. You have all these characters, plus the story of good vs evil, and the love story. This author does an Excellent job of balancing all these story lines in my opinion. If you love a good paranormal this books for you.

Where do I start with Nora and Quinn... Besides the fact that I will never be able to go to a hockey game without blushing furiously or sit in a restaurant without feeling a little hot under the collar.

Alice hit it out of the park with Book 2. A lot of times you will see authors lose some momentum or get away from the original story in book 1. But not Alice. She steamrolled her way through and blew my mind. It built upon the world created in Casstiel's Vow and just grew into so much more.

Quinn is that guy you are rooting for to get through to Nora, because she needs him. Even if she doesn't think so.

Alice writes these characters so convincingly that you want to be their friends. You want to be in on the action, and let me just say, did it pick up! I was gripping my ipad so tightly I may have bent it... I'm not too sure. I could not put it down.

I loved all the new characters introduced and I cannot wait for Book 3!! I want to know who it will be. There were a few new couples introduced or hinted at that would be great installments of the amazing Breed!!

I have been waiting for this for some time and had definitely built it up in my mind. It not only lived up to my expectations it surpassed them! I was loathe to put it down and had to finish it the day I started it. The story was a continuation of the war between the Hunters and the Breed that we were introduced to in book one (Casstiel's Vow) only this time we were seeing things through the eyes of Nora and Quinn as they help each other heal. I was slightly upset when the book ended because I didn't want it to end. I want a new Breed couple and more of the war between the Breed and the Hunters. I want to know who else in in the Nine. I want the final resolution, but never want the books to end. Alice K. Wayne is a writing genius! Now I will be impatiently waiting for the next installment of The Breed so I can follow the war and another couple figuring out the bond.

WOW!!! WOW!!! Be ready to be blown away. This book is going to take you an a wild ride right into the breed. Nora is still suffering from her past. The bond between Quinn and her is something she wants to do away with. Quinn will do everything in his power to show Nora she can trust him, and he will always protect her. Can Nora let her past go? Will the bond complete them both and make them whole again? Will Quinn find his pack?

I love this book it was amazing. I love Quinn's cute way of bringing Nora to his side. This book was amazing, because we not only got Nora and Quinn's story but so many more surprises that I so look foreword to reading in the future. Alice has taken me on an amazing adventure into the breed that I have no interest in returning from.

Nooooooooo

Why the header you wonder? Well the worst part of writing a review is that you have finished the book, I soooooo didn't want this book to end. It had everything I love in a book: hot as hell vampires, equally hot werewolves, bad ass women, blood and gore, sex, love and passion. Every single character sucked me in where I felt like I really knew them. it actually felt more like a movie in my head than reading a book, that's when I know a book has been well written. Can't wait for the next instalment. I would also be extremely grateful if someone can tell me where I can join the Breed, I wanna be a bad ass warrior too ;) lol.
If your a fan of paranormal and all I mentioned above this is definitely the book for you :)

Another Amazing Read. Great Installment

Once again the author has created an installment to the first Breed series that is action packed, have sexy alpha men and a nice romance storyline. Quinn and Nora had lots of issues but we're able to find peace in one another. Their romance was a sweet loving one with very hard beginning. The rest of the Breed men are rather very interesting. I found I love them all but am very curious about Ghost and will definitely be looking forward to his story. Again this novel would have been a five star but there was still editing errors. Granted there weren't as many as in the first novel though.

Great follow-up to Casstiel’s Vow! This story is a continuation of the war between the Breed and the Hunters only this time we get the perspective from Nora and Quinn. I love everything about this book and was loathed to see it end! It had hot and sexy vampires, equally hot and sexy wolves, bada$$ chicks and love.

The bond between Nora and Quinn she wants to do away with but he will do anything and everything in his power to show her that she can trust him to always protect her. But can she get over the past? Will completing the bond make them whole? I can’t wait for the third installment of the series!

A wonderfully wrapped package.

The Breed: Nora's Choice has all the wonderful action packed goodness from book 1. You will find yourself back with the characters you love from the first book. The writing style used by this author wraps you into the words of the story causing you to need more and more. The perfect balance of suspense and sexy heat will keep you interested until the last word you read. Alice K Wayne has become one of my go to authors and even though I just devoured the words in this book I am anxiously awaiting the next.

This is the second book to the breed: Casstiel's vow. We join Nora in her story after Casstiels vow. She tries and fights the mating with Quinn as she is scared of it. We also join in the fight against the Hunters. This story will bring us highs and lows. But also will bring violence. This story had you on edge of seat you never know what is going to happen. This story made me scream cry and curse.

This series just gets better. Book 2 of The Breed Series picks up where Casstiels Vow left off, with the developing relationship between Nora and Quinn, who despite their reservations, are very much destined to be together. Through the obstacles that their world throws at them, the spark grows and grows, and becomes all consuming until finally they become one, and begin to heal one another through their love.
