From the moment we meet Nora and Quinn in Casstiel's Vow and catch the angst and fear that come with their attraction, something that neither of them wants or needs, we know this is going to be a story that will break us and heal us in a way that we never expected.
Nora didn't ask for this life, and finding a reason to continue through it hasn't been easy. Between the attacks on the Breed and the attacks on her mind, finding a modicum of relief is probably the most difficult of wishes. But even in these moments, she knows the assault will begin anew, so the solace is short lived.
When Quinn enters the picture, a wild card to say the least, more questions are raised than answers given. Can he be trusted by the Breed? What is he anyway? What is this thing going on between him and Nora, and will this be the game changer for both of them?
My heart ached for each of them over the experiences they had to go through in their lives. I kept wondering if they were going to survive this new situation they found themselves in and whether they would find a way to work through the struggles that lay ahead of them.
This is truly becoming one of my favorite paranormal romance series'. It holds so many layers and so much excitement and action along with the heat that transpires between the main characters. There isn't one background character that doesn't belong and doesn't leave an imprint during the story. I want to know about all of them, and I want to see the Breed conquer their nemesis in so many ways. This one, in particular, hurt my heart from the beginning, and I just wanted to see some justice for these paranormal creatures. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next one.
