One girl. One backpack. One Harley. A road trip around the west coast of America. A whole heap of fun along the way!
Tara King is breaking free of her monotonous daily routine, and taking to her shiny, new set of wheels to embark on a road trip. Uninspired by the timeless drone of Las Vegas, she breaks away from the bright lights in pursuit of inspiration and change. What she finds along the way is a whole lot more than she bargained for.
*Authors note* Headstrong is a spin off novella from the Kingdom series, and is Tara's story. It can be read as a standalone OR can be read as the perfect round up to the Kingdom series!
Oh I really enjoyed this novella; it had a touch of sass and a whole lot of sexy alpha. From sheltered Las Vegas little sister princess to Harley riding queen of the highway, Tara King is a woman on a mission.
Just her, Hank the Harley, a road map and sheer determination is all that she needs to spread her wings. Tara didn't expect to meet a biker at the roadside diner, never mind get invited to their latest gathering at the compound. Ruck is gorgeous but there is no denying the danger the lurks beneath. With a near miss of a bullet and a quiet kiss goodbye Tara takes to the road once again only to find herself stranded in the beautiful lakes of Oregon. New friend and love interest in a truck lovin' fisherman with an impressive beard and a small town girl who loves to party, Tara learns that travelling alone doesn't necessarily mean you stay alone as opportunities arise and new friendships forged. When all you have is an open road, the possibilities are endless...
Headstrong can be read as a standalone and very comfortably in a couple of hours. Tara King is a young woman taking the reigns and making her own decisions and I loved her honesty. She was sassy but fun and I thoroughly enjoyed her journey into the unknown. My favourite part was touching base with the Steel Souls MC and I can't wait to see what Nikki Groom has planned for them in the future.
An entertaining and enjoyable short read that looks to be a strong prologue and a promise of more great things to come.
Firstly can I say that the cover for this novella is stunning and so fitting for the story.
Tara is the sister of the King brothers; Denham and Spike. Following on from her misdemeanour's in the previous books she decides to branch our on her own and go on a journey to discover who she truly is. So with a back pack and her Harley Davidson she goes on an unforgettable journey.
This can be read as a standalone but I'm glad that I have read the rest of the series.
Tara is a gutsy woman and comes across some dangerous situations but takes it all in her stride. I had to admire her and her determination and strength.
The story does stop at a point that gives the reader the freedom to imagine what happens next on Tara's road trip across the west coast of America. I'm hoping there will be more and praying that a certain biker returns.
I freaking loved this book! What a great addition to the Kingdom series. Tara's road trip was full of challenges, funny situations, a few twists, and definitely some very romantic heart pounding situations. Truly a page turner, finished it one sitting. Definitely should read the first three books in the series since characters from the first books are in this one. Truly a great book!
It's a 3.5 stars for the simple reason I didn't quite connect with Tara. But I should have finished the Kingdom Series before reading this short story. So I would suggest reading the series first. But I still appreciated Nikki's writing and I will pick the series up again very soon.
What a perfect little Novella!! So pleased that Tara got a little story of her own. Great pace and a great little storyline. Really enjoy Nikki's books, and this was a lovely addition. Sexy and sweet! Looking forward to more from this author
Tara has her own mind when it comes her venturing outside her family's reach. She has decided to ride around the country and seek adventure. She does in ways she doesn't expect. The is story is short and I'm sure could have continued; but I guess that's up to our imagination. Well done Nikki.
