⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I fear the ocean has claimed another victim because I AM OBSESSED 🌊🧜🏼‍♀️

You know when you pick up a romantasy and just *know* you're going to love it? Yeah, that was me with this one. BUT I wasn't prepared to love it THIS much. 😭💙

First of all, can we talk about the FANTASY?! The mythical creatures, the magic system, the hidden powers… I ate this UP. I love when a book brings something fresh to the romantasy genre while still giving me all the things that made me fall in love with it in the first place, and this absolutely delivered.

And the characters?! Give me a badass FMC any day, but pair her with a morally grey, brooding MMC and enemies to lovers? Oh, I'm SAT. Add forced proximity, tension, and a world full of magic and mythical creatures, and honestly, what more could I ask for?!

But one thing I especially loved was that there was more to this story than just the romance. The family dynamics, the trauma, the found family, and the emotional depth added SO much to the story. I love when characters feel complex and have layers to them, when there's more happening beneath the surface, and when the story gives you something to really sink your teeth into.

And can we PLEASE appreciate when an author takes a fantasy element and makes it feel exciting and original?! I won't spoil anything, but there were aspects of this story that had me absolutely hooked. I genuinely loved the world Elle Grace created, and I never wanted to leave it.

Honestly, I had such a good time with this book. The romance, the fantasy, the characters, the magic… ALL OF IT. This was everything I wanted it to be and more, and I'm already wishing I could experience it all over again for the first time.

Elle Grace, you did your thing with this one! 🫶🏻

Now excuse me while I stare at the ocean (on tv because I live in AZ) and wonder when I can get more of this world because I AM NOT READY TO LET IT GO. 🌊

If you love dark romantasy, enemies to lovers, morally grey men, badass FMCs, mythical creatures, hidden powers, found family, and a little spice, add this to your TBR!

⭐️ 5/5 stars. No notes. Just love

This was such an amazing read!!!
After years of reading fantasy/romantasy books, the storylines start to seem more and more similar to one another. However, this story was so fresh and original while simultaneously still incorporating all the elements that made me fall in love with romantasy books in the first place.
The characters, especially the FMC and MMC, are both so intriguing and complex. I especially love the depth of the main character's family dynamics, as they're very relatable to me in my personal life.
I may be biased, because the main theme of this book is one that I'm obsessed with and it's been hard to find many romantasy books about this specific fantasy element (not spoiling it for you). That being said, I was extremely satisfied by how this theme was handled and my cravings were definitely filled.
I've only just read it, but I'm already waiting and hoping for a potential next instalment...
