When historian Carrie Jo Jardine accepted her dream job as chief historian at Seven Sisters in Mobile, Alabama, she had no idea what she would encounter. The moldering old plantation housed more than a few boxes of antebellum artifacts and forgotten oil paintings. Secrets lived there”"and they demanded to be set free.

When young, wealthy Ashland Stuart offered Carrie Jo the job, he had no idea that she had a secret of her own. Carrie Jo dreams about the past. An unexpected accident takes Carrie Jo back in time as a witness to life at the plantation over 150 years ago. An impassioned plea from Ashland puts Carrie Jo in a precarious position as the two work together to find a missing heiress, the young and beautiful Calpurnia Cottonwood.

The writing is very very mediocre, with flimsy make-believe plots. In order to make it into a series of six book, the writer stretched the story so much that after the third book I felt it lost its relevance entirely hence completing the series felt like an extremely tedious task. Though I admit that the plot initially held alot of promise, it had all the ingredients for a good horror. However due to bad execution and poor character developments (considering the length of the series spanning six volumes) things just got lost on way. All in all I'd say that the series can pass for a 'make believe fairytale story' but definitely not a horror. I consider my time wasted on it.

My first introduction to M.L.Bullock was her Desert Queen Series. I thoroughly enjoyed her writing and once I finished that series I decided to give her Seven Sisters Series a try. I'm getting ready to read book 4. I love the main character and her quirks! I've never been to the south (would live to visit some day though) but I imagined it just as she described! I'm a huge history buff and love hearing ghost stories, so this book gave me both and more!!! Easy read and a great page turner!! I recommend reading!

Absolutely amazing! I was hooked on the first page! I'm officially addicted!

M.L. Bullock captures the Gothic beauty of the South and it's history of old "family secrets". A wickedly delightful blend of Anne Rice and Dorothea Benton Frank! A must read for anyone with a love of the supernatural!

These three books should have been one.

I really liked this story but now how the books were divided. These three books should have been one book. The first two ended so abruptly and with so many unanswered questions that if I hadn't gotten them as a bundle with Kindle unlimited, I wouldn't have read the whole series. It was a very good story and well written but I don't like that this is a so called series. I should have been one book.

Wow, M.L. Bullock. Just... wow.

I've been reading a lot of books lately that I don't know what I'm getting myself into when I start them, and this series was no exception. From the moment I read the first sentence, I was enthralled. I looked up from eating lunch with my boyfriend, summed up the prologue, and he laughed cause he knew I was hooked. It had my undivided attention. Going back to finish the day of work seemed like the longest 5 hours until I could get home and finish the first installment.

The story has multiple narrators, several from the past, and one from the present. The author seamlessly wove the story together through the use of dreams, journals, and antiques. C.J. was a special character, and I wasn't sure of her in the beginning, but once I read into the story further, I felt for her. She captured my imagination through her "gift" and learned to accept herself and others around her by the end of the last installment.

The secondary characters all left you guessing as to their real intentions and motives and I loved not knowing who C.J. could really trust and who was out to crush her. The secondary characters had well developed arcs and each pulled the plot along in their own way throughout the story. I loved that Mobile was the setting, and the author obviously did the research into how southern cities and towns actually are. The sweet southern hospitality, the "tall tales", and the amazing restaurants all played their parts in the story without being overbearing or annoying, just like in real life.

I rarely give out a 5 star rating, and while some of the installments were better than others (to be expected), as a whole, this series deserved it. This isn't a round up, but a solid 5 star. I can't wait to read more from Bullock and I hope those other pieces work the same magic on me as this one did. I'm glad I subscribe to Kindle Unlimited since they were nice enough to pull this into a collection so I could just power through once the first in the series had its hooks in me. ;)

What an ending to the mystery of the Seven Sisters Series! I understand there may be another, but as for now many questions have been answered, and only the future lay ahead!

Finally understand

I was interested enough to keep reading, basically the books did not end you had to go to the next one to finish the story would have been better to make one novel than a series but it really was good
