Rate this book
Board Resolution By Joey W. Hill
Savannah was groomed from birth to take the reins of her father's manufacturing empire. Her emotional armor is as tough as the steel used in her factories, and nobody is allowed past it. Business partner Matt realizes that the key to entry is to command her submission. Calling on the unique sensual talents of his four-man management team, he engineers an aggressive and erotic takeover, determined to rescue the woman he's loved from the steel cage she's manufactured around her heart. Masked and lost to the sensations the team arouses in her, Savannah is theirs, at least for this one night.

Hidden Desires By Elizabeth Lapthorne
Lily had to admit she was desperate. Here she was in New Orleans on a two week vacation, she made the trip especially for the Mardi Gras, and she didn't have a mask! Everything she found seemed wrong.

As a last ditch effort, she entered a small shop and found the perfect mask…until it showed her visions of herself getting ravished by a masked highwayman.

But when that highwayman turned up at the Mardi Gras bash, she knows the chemistry between them could only lead to one place.
The only things between them that remained hidden were their true desires.

Mardi Gras By Lacey Alexander
Mia Sanderson has been in love with her boss, Ty Brewer, for years, but ladies' man Ty only sees her as a friend and even worse, a good girl. So when Mia and Ty are invited to the same Mardi Gras party, Mia decides to live out a fantasy. Donning a Mardi Gras mask and wig, Mia masquerades as the seductive Mistress Mina, the bad girl of Ty's dreams. But what will happen if Ty discovers her true identity? Mina's risking their friendship and her job, but for a night with Ty, it's worth it.

3.5 rating if you like anthologies. Read the first two stories years ago and really enjoyed them. They were from authors (Joey Hill & Lacey Alexander) that are usually auto buys for me and was the reason I picked up the book in the first place. In cleaning out the shelves I came across the book and decided to finish it. The third story is an unknown from me and it was just okay, but I would recommend Board Resolution and Mardi Gras for some quick erotic romance. The rating is only for the first 2 stories.

Board Resolution

I read this story when it first came out in 2005. I had already read several of Joey’s stories by this time and I was hooked. This is also when Ellora's Cave was only publishing a few books a week and I was devouring them like a starving person. Sadly, I haven’t read it again until this week. I love Joey W. Hill’s writing and look forward to each book she puts out. Her stories pull you in and draw forth emotions that you might not want to expose. For someone that was new to BDSM stories this was an eye opener. I had read Joey’s HOLDING THE CARDS before this but that story is very different from this one. I am not going to be able to say much about what goes on in the story because I don’t want to give anything away. This is the first and for a number of years the only book in the Knights of the Boardroom series.

This story involves convincing a woman that has lived her entire life according to father’s rules that it is okay to love and be loved. Savannah Tennyson has stayed behind a suit or armor all her life. She has never shown weakness and has torn apart those that would try to take advantage of her. Secretly she longs for someone to comfort her but there is only one person that she trusts to do that any she is afraid to make a commitment and lose the man and his respect. Matthew “Matt” Kensington is a man that goes after what he wants and he wants Savannah. Matt is a Master and he knows that Savannah is a submissive and he sets out to prove to her that submission isn't an admission of weakness. It will take all the five men of the management team of Kensington and Associates to show Savannah the power she has when it comes to them.

This is an emotional roller coaster ride as Savannah finds that it is okay to love and laugh and be human. It takes all Matt’s restraint to allow his team to pull Savannah from her armor and show her that there is more to life than her job. I love all these men and Matt especially. Each man is an alpha in his own right and Matt is the leader of this dynamic pack of wolves. There are some very molten hot sex scenes in this book and there are lots of toys used for Savannah’s enjoyment. Be warned that there is bondage used to perfection as well as a spanking. I can never say enough about Joey’s books and I always recommended them to those that love the BDSM romance genre.

Behind the Mask
by Joey W. Hill, Lacey Alexander, and Elizabeth Lapthorne

This anthology by three amazing authors will satisfy all your desires. The three stories each feature a mask which provide mystery and romance to the women who are learning their own power.

Joey Hill’s Board Resolution is sizzling with an ice queen business woman who has met her match in her business partner and his flunkies. The passion grows with each exploration of her weaknesses.

Mardi Gras by Lacey Alexander shares a woman who has always had a crush on her brother’s friend. Too bad he never saw her as she really was until a night with a mask enlightens him. When the blinders come off the desire explodes.

Elizabeth Lapthorne’s Hidden Desires tells the tale of a magical mask that finds a person’s perfect match. At a party, Lily’s fantasy comes true with a highwayman, but when he turns out to be someone she knows, she doubts herself. It’s up to him and the mask to convince her.

There is something for everyone in this anthology. Bondage, multiple partners, hidden identities and of course, amazing sex abounds. The stories will heighten your own passion and sweep you away with each story.

I only read Hill's story, 'Board Resolution' & um.. ahem.. HAWT .

It was also kinda crazy too. In fact, I might vote it the most extreme situation I've read from her yet. It is by far the most unbelievable circumstance she's written her characters in but she only had around 100 pages or so to wrap it up so she went for full impact that's for sure.

To me this was a pure adult, fantasy scenario so certainly suspend disbelief at the door but even with that knowledge, I was still able to get into the story & want to believe in the characters & their motivations. I think it's just that Hill has the ability to curb excessive prose & instead, really allows it to flow so it lends the a believability factor to her stories.

Anyway, looking for a hot, little escapist ditty? This should fit the bill.

P.S. - I didn't bother reading Lacey Alexander b'c I read her Brides of Caralon & thought it was fairly rudimentary stuff which became redundant.

There are certain elements of the BDSM scene that I really don't like, and Board Resolution hits several of them. The whole suspension thing is just plain weird. On the other hand, a group of men is a different story...Mardi Gras was a classic unrequited love theme, and how the nice girl turns naughty to catch the hero's attention. The sex play was fun. I couldn't get into Hidden Desires; rather boring if you ask me. 3 stars.

I loved both Board Resolution By Joey W. Hill and Mardi Gras By Lacey Alexander. Board Resolution was a bit fantastical, but still sexy and sweet in the end. Mardi Gras was fun and sexy!

I couldn't finish Hidden Desires By Elizabeth Lapthorne. I just started too slow and never picked up enough for me.

Joey Hill is in top form, as is Lacey Alexander. The last story I could have done with or without, but it was enjoyable.

This book is a good read, but Board Resolution by Joey W. Hill is by far the best story in the collection. Never has a boardroom table been used so well. ;)
