Everyone is getting in on this fight. Demons, Magical Elementals, Swamp Thing versus Poison Ivy, and all the Supes are locking themselves within the Houses of Mystery and Secrets. What a rush.

The art is great, but the story is pretty damn fantastic. It's a lot more than a bash-em, hack-em tale. It's more like a long game of chess with these blokes on the table. Right, Constantine?

Damn fun stuff, a no holds barred free for all where anyone can and probably will die. The reversals are sudden and final.

Hopefully I won't take too much time to get to the next. :)

And here I was done. There was just a hodgepodge of stories only parenthetically related to the main drama and I had a hard time maintaining enough interest to finish it. Perhaps it was the author switch but, I gave up on Injustice after this.

Its still good.

The writing change does hasten the plot but we have the magic war finally and we see together to defeat them and then there is interesting turn with John and a story with Dr Occult which was weird and the machinations of the hellblazer and a story with the Teen Titans and where they have been.

Its a weird volume and certainly has its epic moments and does well to address them and good twists and an emotional one at that and showing the powers be that back Superman and his war with Batman takes on a new form and will continue that way for some time seems like. The art is interesting and getting better.

(Received from Netgalley for review.)

I've loved Injustice under Tom Taylor, so I was both excited to get approved for this new volume and a little apprehensive. How would Buccellatio do in his first few issues? These are pretty big shoes to fill, in my opinion. And, as it turned out, he did a pretty good job. He starts fairly strong, by resolving a plot thread that Taylor left dangling in a truly unexpected way. The middle does get a little bogged down, and slows the pace considerably, but he makes up for it with a strong ending. This whole year of Injustice has been very heavy on mysticism. I'm not sure if that's entirely out of the way now, but I think it will definitely be less in the foreground than it has been. Constantine was really the story of year three, and he exits the book at the end in a way that feels absolutely right for the character.

There are two bonus short stories at the end, set earlier in the series. One fleshes out Constantine's plan and explains where Dr. Occult has been. The other answers the question of what happened with the Teen Titans, who have been largely absent from the action to this point. It is nice to have the world fleshed out a bit more, and I wouldn't have wanted to read the Dr. Occult story any earlier than it was presented in this book. The Teen Titans one, though, is from the very beginning of the Injustice story, and I would have been much happier reading it or something like it sooner. It kind of feels like an afterthought tacked on at the end, even though it is a decent story.

I think Buccallatio could do a good job on this series, and I'm more than willing to give him a few more books to see what I think. Injustice is still one of my favorite ongoing titles in DC's roster.

I felt like this was very short but eventful. Superman is no longer neutralized, and he's madder than ever. Constantine is up to his scheming at maximum levels. I liked that this one had lots of magic in it. Injustice messes with my head, because Superman is a terrible and formidable villain. Wonder Woman as well. Ugh, her crush on Superman has made her into a terrible dupe. I am and always will be Team Batman, just saying. The body count is always high in this series, and I hate that people fall in with an authoritarian because he know how to manipulate fear (sounds familiar with the current situation in the US right now). I will finish this because I want to know how this ends. But I will be holding my breath and gritting my teeth the whole time.

Not as mindblowingly great or jawdroppingly awesome as the first two Years. Too many new characters, too much confusing magical mumbo-jumbo, too little coherent storyline. The change in quality of writing (in terms of characterizations, prose-quality, dialogs, depths-detailing, morality plays and ethical conundrums) from the absolutely wonderful and perfect Tom Taylor who elevated this series miles above any game-tie in comics ever deserves into one of the best outputs of DC in recent years, to the as of yet very sub per Brian Buccellato (who unfortunately it seems is treating the material exactly like a game-tie in comic suppose to be, with mindless POW! BANG! fistfights and forgettable macho dialogs-character interactions) half way through the Year was nakedly apparent. Still, John freakin' Constantine! The sheer coolness of his commanding presence throughout the whole Year and the laugh-out-loud funny trademark smart-ass dialogs of his almost made up for all the other shortcomings. And even though it was not on the same level of awesomeness as the previous Years, everything is still pretty fun and addictive, with some very good twists. Here's hoping for a better Year Four and Five.
'Superman's war took my daughter's mom away. The bloody fascist stole Rose's childhood. I can't undo that. I don't know how to look after her. I'm not great at protecting people. I can't bring back Rose's mom. I can't give her back what was stolen.
But I can sure as hell make sure the prick who did this pays. Revenge - That I'm good at. I've brought down monsters, demons and actual gods. I'm gonna kick the Man of Steel in the bollocks.'
-John Constantine

And kick in the bollocks he did.

I opened Year Three: Vol. 2 with apprehension (maybe too strong a word?) for two valid reasons: would this be any good in the wake of Tom Taylor's departure from the series, and would it still be heavy on the mystical mumbo-jumbo that permeated Year Three, Vol. 1?

Well, I think things mostly got back on track with this volume, or at least 'magic' angle was now in equal parts to the action, scheming and unexpected deaths (there was one here that caught me off-guard during the big battle) that have become Injustice trademarks. Also, the 'thought boxes' describing Batman in the opening of the 'Goodbyes and Farewells' chapter were just classic.

Additionally, two out-of-chronology short stories that close the volume answer questions about John Constantine's shady motives (it was okay, but probably could've been properly inserted into the story-line anyway) and the Teen Titans' noticeable lack of involvement (it was tragic, but great).

This was a good start for Brian Buccellato but it's hard to fill the shoes of Tom Taylor.

This book basically just covered one entire fight that the opposing forces had with each other. And of course it happened in some strange magical realm.

The only issue I had with this was that the artwork was significantly less impressive than it had been in the past. The proportions were kind of weird and some panels made them look short but still really beefed up.

And I still stand by the assumption that every second volume in this series kills one of the characters I really like. In this one,

The final issue of this showed what happened at the beginning of Year Three that hadn't been shown yet. Mainly with Constantine, who turns out to be a douche unfortunately. And then it goes back to the beginning of this ordeal and shows where the Teen Titans have been in all this (surprise surprise: Superman is still a complete douche here too). I just really hate Superman in this series.

Definitely a step down in quality, much too much magicking and the "filler" issues at the end were just that. Still, I liked it a lot in spite of myself, and the non-stop square-offs probably brought the title closer to its video game source material than ever.

It is a sad day when I don't enjoy an installment in one of my favorite series...
This is the volume that everyone feared. Year Three, Vol. 2 is the first volume under a different writer, Buccellato takes over after Tom Taylor's excellent job and... I didn't love this one. It is, so far, the weakest volume.

Sure, it wasn't an easy job. Injustice: Gods among us is one of my favorite stories and this Year in particular is a really hard one to write. We have a lot of new, obscure characters that not a lot of people know, me included. I didn't care a lot, or I didn't know a lot. But still, even with that against me, a great writer should be able to make me care. Just like Taylor did before, with a line or a scene, every character was important with him, it didn't matter if they were only for a few pages, or if I wasn't rooting for them, the characterization and storytelling in previous volumes were brilliant. This time around, it's not that I only did not care about the new characters, I mostly didn't care about the old ones either.

Because magic and the supernatural was involved, the scope and the action got bigger. There are a lot of action scenes that don't have a payoff simply because so many characters got lost in there. There's no suspense, there was no emotion in those scenes. I got bored and I wasn't invested. The losses this time around, the betrayal at the end... I just didn't care like I did before. I was very underwhelmed.

That being said... there was some good here, I still very much like the artwork, I enjoyed it a lot and, most importantly, I did like the return of my favorite character in the whole DC Universe It wasn't as amazing as I was hoping for, but I still got a bit emotional. I also liked to know the reason why the Teen Titans weren't fighting along everyone else. Did I like the reason? No. I actually was rolling my eyes... but hey, after 5 volumes I finally know why.

I don't think this is a good volume... but I do know that this wasn't an easy job and taking over this run in the middle of Year Three made it even more difficult for Buccellato. Here I'm hoping that the next installments do get better and that Buccellato can find a way to make the characters shine again.

As always with Injustice: Gods Among Us, this volume was full of fast paced action, conflict of good vs. evil, humanity vs. godlike creatures, along with beautiful art. However, the change of writer shows and while the story is engaging, it lacks the emotional depth and incredible characterization of Tom Taylor.

I'd recommend these series to anyone who is a fan of superheroes (or even if you aren't, trust me, you will love this!), but the first three volumes - Year One Vol.1, Year One Vol.2 and Year Two Vol.1 - are my personal favorites. Really, how often does it happen that a comic makes you cry?

This was solid 4 stars to me, it was lots of fun and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Tom Taylor will be missed, though.

I received this from Edelweiss and DC Comics in exchange for an honest review.

Pretty good continuation from the new helmsman for this title, Brian Buccalleto. The story almost got out of control, but by the end of the main arc, it was sufficiently reined in. I was kind of surprised at the two tales included at the end, but they were quite necessary for understanding what had happened leading up to the main arc.

Some surprises in this one, from certain villains appearing to some shocking deaths. Still a very compelling series, and I'm looking forward to reading Year Four.

This was a good comic, with Illustration style that I like, all my favorite super heroes in it, if Superman is in it, I am in, and a good plot. The mythology element was cool, it gave a little something to the plot that made it more interesting. But I didn't feel much invested with the comic, I felt passing pages at some point because it was a little slow at the beginning but in the end it was good.
Overall 3 stars.

I am tearing through these books because they are relentlessly entertaining. The only reason this one gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is essentially a housekeeping issue, where we see some loose ends tidied up done with a few flashbacks to the beginning of the tale.

I kind of get the feeling that people were asking, “What about the Teen Titans?” and “Where is [fill in obscure magic user]?” So Taylor has answers for all of that, which he again manages to fit into the larger tale seamlessly. But the background stuff with Constantine was kind of unnecessary. It’s nice to see that he was involved back at the start, but a bit redundant after the events of Year Three Vol. 1, where he manipulates, charms, tricks, and backstabs his way through the minefield that is a superhero civil war.

As for the Titans:

I wonder if the Legion of Superheroes will show up in the next installment? Or has Superman’s actions changed the timeline so much that they don’t exist in the far future? Can’t wait!

Oh man, what I feared the most. Without Tom the story begins to fall apart. It's not bad by any means, but more "Okay". Tom had a knack to create a really good Superman who's both good and bad. Brain does a decent enough job of carrying that over. However, this volume, even though contains ton of action, is a tad slow on the pacing. I really dug some of it that I won't go in to without spoilers but the scenes with Swamp Thing were great (and heartbreaking) and I did love the sweet betrayal at the end.

However, it felt very tame compared to previous volumes. I'm hoping Year 4 and 5 pick up. Because Injustice was easily top 10 DC stories for me ever. I want that continue. Come on Brain, step it the fuck up!

Incredible...I don't understand the backlash from this one but this was absolutely incredible. The twists and surprises were jaw dropping. I love Brian Buccellato works and he did not disappoint at all.

Finally found out where the Teen Titans have been through all this, and Supermans treachery knows no bounds. I get he loved Lois but destroying an entire planet and the people for one woman is incredibly selfish.

I have a feeling Starfire and Red Robin will make a definitive comeback but not in the way I want them too. The deaths are more gripping also. Some call them minor characters but when u love comics for as long as I have, no character is minor

One last note: Don't trust.......

The injustice series is the best Video game comic adaptation I've read. The stories always feel fresh and new and Volume 2 of year 3 is no different, While I would agree as the series has gone on its lost some of its luster, but there's still some very interesting stories going on. I highly recommend not only this book, but all the injustice volumes. Some great storytelling in this series.

I received an advanced copy of this from NetGalley.com and the publisher.

Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Three Volume 2 by Brian Buccellato is a change from original writer Tom Taylor. The first issue in this volume is probably my second favorite since the first issue. In this issue Superman dreams what if Lois lived instead of died, having Batman kill the Joker to protect Clark, as he say where the Joker almost took him. The first three issues are great but the last three kept slipping in quality. The epilogue of the Teen Titans and why they are not involved in the events was great and will definitely come in to play later. John Constantine reveals the end game for what he really wanted to accomplish. Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Three Volume 2 collects issues 7-12 of Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Three.

The Plot:The Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois and his unborn child, when her heart stops a nuclear bomb destroys Metropolis. Superman distraught kills The Joker and declares martial law on the whole world, vowing that no one should die needlessly. He develops a pill that will make ordinary people super to start an army of supermen that he controls. Batman wants the world to be safe but still give the people free will. Superman's action have drawn attention to the Green Lantern Corps who's power is all about will power. Martian Man hunter died as he was fighting Wonder Woman from the inside when Superman used his heat vision, and sent Wonder Woman into a coma. Sinestro is manipulates Superman telling his own story and the way the Green Lantern Corps will attack, he makes an alliance that brings Sinestro and his minions as added protection. both Hal Jordan and Superman put on the yellow rings of fear to win against the Green Lantern Corps. Batman took out Cyborg, Robin, Raven, and flash at the Hall of Justice. John Constantine joins the fight on Batman's side as a body from a Green Lantern Corps kills one of his ex-lovers and mother to his child Rose. Constantine assembles team of magic powered heroes to join forces with Batman and take Superman down. They use Raven as bait and set a trap to put Superman in a magic sleep that shows him the way things could have went. The vision was supposed to give him clarity but he wakes up madder than ever because of what he missed. Wonder Woman wakes up because Athena made some bargain with Wonder Woman's mother. We see Constantine's real game plan, and why he's so willing to help.

What I Liked: The Superman dream story is written so well. I loved the reveal of Constantine's long con that he had been setting up for a while now. When the Devil Traigon shows up Harley's reaction to seeing made me laugh hard, "He's from the movie Legend, where are the unicorns?" Wonder Woman's dream about a relationship with Clark was great. A return version of Dick Grayson, as the Deadman, has a conversation with Bruce where he calls him dad is the sweetest thing ever. The epilogue, showing what happened to the Teen Titans, and why they are not involved, surprised me with who they sided with in the fight. I liked Flash's trickery while still keeping his word to Dr. Fate.

What I Disliked: The Traigon and Mr. Mxyzptlk fight was just okay and went on for way too long. I didn't like the Spectre reveal of who is behind the mask, I wanted more. The Poison Ivy V. Swamp Thing fight was cool, but didn't get why they would be immediate enemies.

Recommendations: This volume of Injustice had my favorite opening issue, but it couldn't hold after that. The quality of the Injustice Series is still being maintained. This series is still some of the best DC has put out in a while that wasn't a straight Batman graphic novel, in my opinion. I rated Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year Three Volume 2 by Brian Buccellato 4 out of 5 stars.

This series is insanely addicting, but it's starting to get a little repetitive as Batman's crew continues to fight Superman's crew, albeit in new and exciting ways. For all the added characters and magic and whatnot, it's still mostly people getting punched in the face. And the constant self-righteous proselytizing from the Supe camp is annoying. Like none of these supposedly intelligent people have an ounce of self-reflective ability.

AND I for some reason thought this was the final volume, but of course nothing was resolved as there are in fact Years 4 and 5 still to go! So now to get my hands on them somehow...

The writer change mid-way is pretty seamless. I enjoyed Taylor more, but Buccelato did a respectable job too. The large-scale fight near the end was a beautiful mess that kept me guessing. Two of the magical combatants threaten to destroy reality during that fight and stopping them will require more sacrifice. The two factions duking it out are well balanced throughout, with only the magical elements upsetting the balance.

Wow, the story kicks it into high gear here and it packs quite an emotional punch.
The art, however, leaves a lot to be desired as it frankly sometimes sucks. Perspectives and faces are like afterthoughts to the story.
The story and fights are fantastic enough that I'm totally willing to overlook how much I hated the art at times, but it was enough to annoy.
