DIVINE INTERVENTION FOR SALE: Yato is a homeless god. He doesn't even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he's set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he'll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can't afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.

Wait, did Hiyori date Fujisaki? How could I forget that? Did I miss a volume? Also, ick. Fujisaki makes spending the day at a capybara-themed amusement park seem normal and healthy.

Aside from that, a solid installment. We're still taking it a little easy after that intense long story arc with Yato going to Yomi and the super-sad stuff with Ebisu (sniffle) so this is short episodes with less action and more background and emotional development, but still very affecting in places and the larger plot with Yato's creepy father (or possibly "father") and Stray have not been forgotten.

And apparently the collapse of the Japanese economy was caused by Daikoku and Kofuku partying too hard during the Bubble years. Oops.

The end notes were educational, as always.
-Did you know that there was an 18th-century Japanese invention called an elekiter that stored static electricity? Me neither.
-A tanka is like a haiku but longer: 5 lines of 5,7,5,7,7. One variety is a juka, a spell song.

And the final story was coincidentally appropriate for mother's day.

as always, very funny and entertaining. i adore the capyperland scenes and that we finally find out more about kofuku's past. after the pretty intense yomi/underworld and ebisu arc this one is lighter again but i did not have any problems with that. also; i cannot get over that drastic character development yukine went through. (°◡°♡).:。 comparing the first volumes with this one shows how much he has grown and changed. and, again they did THAT with the plot twist. AGH. I have SO MANY questions and just need to know the answers as soon as possible.

if you want to start reading the manga due to the fact that there is no third season for the anime in sight you can start here. there are some things that were already mentioned in the anime but there's also new stuff which made me feel very nostalgic again. if you want to jog your memory and "re-read" the yomi arc read volume 10 first.

This volume was sad. It makes you hate some characters really really badly. But there is action and thriller in it, so I really enjoyed it.

With Yukine as his guide, Yato is on the path to becoming the god of happiness he so desires to be. But, Nora is holding a grudge against him for releasing her as his shinki and worse, Yato's "father" feels like he can reign in Yato at anytime. The foreboding that these two have power over Yato, to ruin his dream to become a god that makes humans happy, is worrisome.

There are some great moments with Bishamon and Kazuma, and a fabulous chapter about Kofuku and her shinki, Daikoku. Even as the overarching plot moves steadily and quietly along in the background, Adachitoka continues to build the world around our characters without forcing the story in any way. Based on the final chapter of this volume, it looks like the next arc may involve what happens when a shinki remembers his human past and what that could mean for Yukine and Yato.

I continue to absolutely love this series. It has everything that I look for in a manga series: great story and characters, strong development of story and characters, lovely art, exploration of world and solid world-building. Noragami is definitely one of the best series I've read, not only in recent memory, but in total. Highly recommended.

Yato's pasts is seriously one of the most tragic pasts ever. I'm glad that what originally seemed like a light-hearted story turned out to be really heartbreaking and dark. I love how this tackles with suicide and bullying (in a few short parts) and what it means to be a good person, how to live well, and how to judge fairly. This is a really complex story and I loved the romance growing between Hiyori and Yato.

I like Noragami the best when it’s characters backstory (will I ever be over Kofuku and Daikoku past? No), silly shenanigans like trip to the amusement park and the case-focused chapters.
All of this means I don’t like Yato and his father subplot. I’m scared of the father and the less I see him the better.

~4/5

We’re back to some normal antics in the first half of this volume. The three are getting settled again, still recovering from the previous fight. Yato drags them to the amusement park, and his enthusiasm is contagious to everyone but Hiyori—because it just reminds her of her last time there, when she was forgetting about them. It’s both funny and heartbreaking, but the end scene makes it all worth it.

I thought we would see more from Yato’s father, and we do get some development there. We officially find out who he is, and some of what he has planned for Yato and Hiyori, and I’m really not a big fan of him at this point. I don’t like his thoughts, but I do suspect that we’ll be seeing more of his side soon.

In the second half, surprisingly enough, we get a backstory on Kafuku and Daikoku. I’ve always been a fan of this couple, and it’s nice to finally understand what brought them to this point. To see that they really do love each other, but what broke them in the past. Ugh, it’s really hard to see what they went through. But it just makes me want them to be really happy.

Then the volume closes with a sweet, sad story regarding Mayu’s past, which precludes to a secret soon to be revealed, I’m sure.

I can’t wait for the next one. I am just loving this series.

The most wholesome thing ever. Also the romance is making me squrim so bad. The authors are so good at the female gaze and powerful female MCs. We stan.
