SHE'D KNOWN HIS TYPE RIGHT FROM THE START. When Charley Collins needed a cowboy for her Idaho ranch, she had no choice but to hire Shad Russell. He was a drifter and a loner-and undeniably attractive.falling in love with a man like Shad would be asking for heartache. "It's a fine life you lead," she told him, "but it would be terrible for the girl foolish enough to think she could change you." "And you aren't a fool," he replied. No, she wasn't a fool, Charley told herself. But that was before he kissed her...

"No one will ever love you as much as I do, Charley." His low drawl was so quiet only she could hear what he was saying. "I don't have to travel over the next hill to know that. It probably doesn't mean anything to you but I'm not drifting any-more. I've crossed my last river."
"The Travelling Kind" is the story of Charley and Shad.
A sweet love story between a small ranch owner and a drifter set in Idaho. When the h's brother has an accident that restricts his ability to work, she hires the H to be a ranch hand. He is a drifter who has never had a home, moving from place to place since birth. But nothing stops the attraction that flares between them, not even his assertion that he would move on..
I liked this book. Short, heartwarming with likable characters and minimal angst.

I can't even with this book. I decided to read the Americana series this summer on a whim. This is the oddest book ever. First this guy is in her house and just...kisses her....and she is like so in love all of a sudden. It makes no sense. The characters are boring. I don't expect a lot out of romance, but for a book based in Idaho, I expected a more western feel. It feels like two middle aged farmers living together and the desperate woman just falls in love with the guy who kisses her. I just...how did this get published?

I enjoyed the ease of reading this book. I like the writing and the characters (mostly). I just feel super bad for Chuck... I wasn't really a fan of the ending.
