Do you know that there is a butterfly twice as big as your hand? Are you interested in how far the biggest jumping spider can jump? Spead your fingers and imagine the bug that has its eyes on stalks that wide!
Yes, I loved the subject matter, the format and the quality of illustrations in this book. But, this is only my opinion. My little girls have so far combined quick peeks with overcoming the “ick factor.” Review from their perspective will be forthcoming.
This book had amazingly intricate, blown up macro images of the different arthropods, arachnids, bugs and insects. Visually this is something you’d never really get to witness otherwise and I love how it was broken up into sections and how each creature had at least 2 full pages of information. Would definitely recommend others to check this out or share with littles in their lives interested in bugs
The most fun reading-to-the-kid experience to date. My kid loves it and asks lots of questions. It has spurred much curiosity and debate. The consistency of formatting even helped because he loved that he could call out how long bugs lived and ask similar questions about each new bug (what does it eat, what does its jaws look like, etc) and know they'd be answered. We just finished last night and he wants to read it all over again.
This book is a Visual Encyclopedia that explains bugs, insects in detail.
You can clearly see that insects have very small bodies and very complex structures. I learned a great deal.
Bugs and insects are always treated as troublesome and nuisance by humans. Humans make disgusted faces when they get bitten by a mosquito on their skin, or when you see a fly on the table.
The cruel humans take the magazine on the table and hit the insect with all their might to kill it. You might argue that you're just getting rid of a small nuisance bug.
However, all living things do not want to die. Insects want to live desperately. Whether it's a cricket or a cockroach, they don't want to die anyway.
The fact is that you have killed one life in this world and cannot bring it back.
If you find a cockroach in your home or restaurant, you can gently release it outside. "This is human property, so please leave. Take care. Bye-bye."
One of favorites. Excellent images and descriptive details about different species of insects. It's something you can keep on your bedside and read a few things here and there at time to time. Loved it.
Gorgeous photography and interesting facts. A fun book to dip in and out of. Enlarged photographs bring the bug close up to examine. A great one for kids who love National Geographic Bug-opedia.
