The Body Dynamic: How in the World is the Church to Work

Rate this book
God never intended for Christians to live in isolation, sealed inside our own private, stained-glass bubbles. Far from it, you were designed for relationships at an intimate, real level. To know and to be known. To find support when you fall and comfort when you hurt. To accomplish, as one part of a tightly knit organism, that which you could never hope to alone. That's the body dynamic - the church of Jesus Christ in action.

In his book, The Body Dynamic, John MacArthur gives practical insight for God’s eternal plan for His body, the Church, and he teaches Christians what God’s Word says about how we fit in the plan. The book starts out by showing that God formed His plan for the Church and the people who would be part of it, before the foundation of the world. God is sovereign and His plan is eternal making the outcome of every detail certain; including the election and salvation of men. Since Christians are a part of this plan we need to understand our position in the body of Christ and live according to that new life which God has given us. Believers are given spiritual power and blessed with every spiritual blessing at the moment of salvation and we are to recognize and learn to apply it. We are to walk worthy of our calling and begin to minister our spiritual gifts and live lives showing humility, unity, love and all the fruit of the spirit. Christians should reflect Christ and His character, yielding to the holy Spirit, praying and be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. This book was an enjoyable read.
