Predictable and full of underdeveloped characters and an instant love/romance that was just ridiculous especially given the fact that she was running away from an abusive relationship. I spent more time rolling my eyes then I did enjoying the story.

Kinsey Phillips is running away from an abusive relationship. Her car catches on fire and Becket Grayson gets her away from it before it explodes. They realize that they know each other from growing up together many years ago. The attraction between Kinsey and Becket can’t be denied even though neither of them is looking for a relationship.
This book has a lot of suspense and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The sexy time is hot and steamy. This is a complete story with no cliffhanger (yay!). Becket has several siblings and I hope there will be books for each of them.

This was an amazing read and I absolutely loved it. Becket and Kinsey were so great together. These two knew each other growing up but haven't seen each other in a while. She is leaving an abusive situation and he finds her on the side of road and helps her. I love how he helped her heal and their love for each other was so perfect for her. He was a hot, sexy cowboy who was also a firefighter, you can't go wrong with that. This was a great story and I loved every page!!!

This being the first book in a new HELLFIRE series, Elle has brought the heat. And where you have heat, you may have flames; so being a Firefighter in small town, Hellfire, is a very good skill to have. This quick moving story is action-packed and has plenty of burning love. This will be another enjoyable series from Elle James.

This romance from Elle James is a quick and satisfying read. Beckett Grayson is a volunteer firefighter in the small town of Hellfire, Texas. He's on his way home from a training session when he sees a woman desperately trying to push a car off the road that has caught on fire. He's shocked when he finds that the woman is someone he grew up with, and she's almost hysterical as she insists she has to hide the car and then herself. The tension mounts as she reveals that her boyfriend, an NFL football player, has been using her as a punching bag, and she's finally escaped. Nothing will make her go back.
Beckett's protective instincts kick in, and he insists that Kinsey goes with him to the family's ranch. What he's not prepared for is the sparks that immediately fly between them. But how can either of them dare to act on their feelings when she's still bruised and battered from her last beating? Yet, the heat level is nothing they can ignore. This is a romance and has a HEA ending that left me feeling hopeful for both Kinsey and Beckett. If you love a gripping romance with high tension and high stakes, you'll enjoy this book.

Elle James has written hundreds of novels and can churn them out with the best of them.
“Hellfire, Texas”, first in the series of the same name, is a potboiler with a generic plot I've read many times before.
Becket Grayson, ex-military with a gammy leg, is now a rancher and firefighter in his hometown of Hellfire, Texas.
This is a series so, of course, he has several brothers (and a sister) who can be brought to the forefront in further novels. Each is, again of course, either handsome or beautiful (sometimes both at once) and possessed of many useful talents.
And the plot. Abused young woman flees from her abusive boyfriend and, when her car breaks down, finds herself stranded.
Who comes to her aid? Becket!
Now all the reader has to do is wait for (a) romance, (b) torrid sex, and (c) the arrival of the boyfriend hell bent on vengeance.
And so it goes!
The finale isn't bad but too much like a movie scene to be even remotely relievable.

Well paced and jam packed
This is a quick read but has all the action and romance of a longer novel. It grips your interest right from the start and doesn't let go. Becket is an architect, rancher and volunteer firefighter. Kinsey is on the run from an abusive relationship. She escapes back to her hometown of Hellfire and right into Becket' s protective arms. They knew each other growing up and he feels immediately responsible for her safety. What I liked is Becket doesn't let Kinsey hide from her problems. He supports her, enlists appropriate help and his family is right with him and her. The action sequences show Kinsey fighting for herself , with Becket right behind. The characters in this book are relatable. The story is dragged from real life. Well worth the read.

Too Short and Underdeveloped
I have read 3 too many of this author's books. Maybe, it's just the ones I've chosen to read, but I found them to be cheesy, too short, and rushed. The insta-lust and love is just silly and farfetched. The characters in this book were poorly developed, and yet, if the story was more developed, the groundwork was laid for much more detail and dimension. Just a wham bam, thank you, mam..kinda cheesecake romance....barely, worth finishing. Frustrating little blimp on the romance radar.

Word of warning, even though this is a relatively short read, give yourself enough time to read!!! I started this too late in the evening and by 1:30 a.m. my brain couldn't comprehend the words that managed to get past the blurry eyes. This was a wonderful start to a series. I enjoyed the second chance romance of Becket and Kinsey. I look forward to reading the rest of the clan in future stories.
This book is written in the dual POV format. I love it as I can understand the character's actions so much better.

Fantastic Read!
I love a well written book. Strong characters and a great story line. Elle James brings you that and more. Her character Becket was a man who once thought he lived but found only batrayal

Great story. Exciting and fun
I loved the story of Kinsey and Beckett. How their love had started when they were younger and grew more when they met again. Kinsey is running from an abusive boyfriend when she runs into Beckett. Even though she shouldn’t feel anything, she feels warm, safe and protected. And things between them begin again. Great story. First in the hellfire Texas books.

Wouldn't you hate to live in a place called Hellfire? Its a small community that is very friendly and everybody are friends. Beckett and Kinsey grew up together but went their separate ways after high school. Beckett still lives in Hellfire but Kinsey moved to Dallas. They meet again when Kinsey is running from an abusive ex-boyfriend. There's lots of action and romance. I enjoyed reading this book. It was very good.

Good read
I ended up reading this series out of order, but liked them all. Can't wait for the 5th one this month. He's a rancher, architect and volunteer firefighter. She's been gone from town for years and was running from an abusive boyfriend. He takes her in and the sparks fly. Humor, danger and hot sex. Highly recommend

Heat is on
Kinsey escapes from an abusive relationship, with no where to go she heads to the only home she's known Hellfire, Texas. Kinsey has known Beckett & his family all her life. Although the destruction of her family home seems too far & the love between Kinsey & Beckett rushed. This a great story. Can't wait to ead the rest of Hellfire, Texas series.

It was pretty good. But the ending could have been a little better. It's sad when u have 2 protect urself from others. Can she find a way 2 save herself b4 it's 2 late? Beckett was a divorced cowboy that gave up on love but a person from his past needs help and he plans 2 him. But what will it costs him in the end?

Good book
The book tackles the issue of battered women. One I was familiar with in my first marriage. Thankfully I have been married for 36 years to a wonderful man. There are good ones out there.

Coming Home

Great Read
Becket knew Kinsey was a child who live next door, but spent a lot of time at his house. Kinsey no longer looked like a child and had always had a crush on Becket. Her ex had beaten her to the point she felt that it she didn't get away he would kill her.

Kinsey was running from a very bad relationship and she ended up back in her home town. The sparks are flying between her and Becket her old boyfriend and next door neighbor. Her current boyfriend Massey does find her and some of excitement begins. Enjoy

A good start to a new series
Liked the story. Domestic abuse is never okay and Kinney's ex boyfriend was just plain crazy. So happy she was able to break that cycle.
