Knock! Knock!

Rate this book
“Where’s my bear?” asks a little girl as soon as she comes home from school. But... he’s missing! Where could he be? So she sets off to find him, knocking on the door of each apartment in her building. As she climbs higher and higher, she meets all kinds of people, makes a lot of new friends, and sees some strange sights… but what about her bear? Will she find him?

A child’s quest turns into a wonderful adventure that literally unfolds, step by step, into a building full of life. Knock! Knock! is book architecture at its inspired best.

This book is beyond clever. This simple story about a little girl hunting for her teddy bear literally unfolds, as each "page" shows a different scene, and then unfolds to another page, and then another...zigzagging back and forth, and finally ends on the left side, folding down several times. The illustrations are cute and somewhat cartoon-like. I can understand why our library system did not purchase the book! The book comes in a box, but is somewhat fragile and I don't believe it will last very many circulations (I got the book on ILL from another library system which did purchase it).

Um livro que se dobra e desdobra tão fofinho! Onde está o ursinho da menina? Não descansa enquanto não o encontra!

Beautiful concept--the book starts as out as a small box, but each page you unfold becomes a different room or environment the child searches in her quest for her bear until you have a poster-size foldout. It's too small to be seen by a big group but for small group or one on one sharing, it's a pretty cool little piece.

This book was an unexpected surprise. When I pulled it from the shelf at the library, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as the story (literally) unfolded before me, I was swept into this young girl's search for her bear and the fascinating neighbors that she visits.

A child searches for her bear in this maze of a book. Constructed of one entire piece, readers unfold the story to find out what happens next, exploring multiple rooms with fantastical contents.

You haven't read a book like this before. A little girl searches for her missing bear by knocking door to door in her apartment building. Readers will delight in how the story unfolds. This may be a better reading experience for kids ages 5 and up since even I took a moment to figure out how to read this book.

This is the cutest book ever! It's totally interactive, I think a great book for kids who may not be all that interested in reading and those who love it alike.
