Featuring nearly 100 original illustrations including Tumblr favorites and new never-before-seen artwork, “If Animals Could Talk” is the perfect addition to your collection of talking animal books. Oh, you don’t have a talking animal book? Hmm, you don’t say…
I stumbled across this little gem at the library and liked the what I saw when I thumbed through.
First things first, this is NOT FOR CHILDREN! Please don't be fooled. It is filled with adult sayings and content. Trust me.
Secondly if you're an adult and have a few minutes, I encourage you to grab this book, it's hilarious. I've always imagined what animals would say if they could talk. Thoughtful and funny!
Hilarious! Even more hilarious than the book is that my daughter (11) found them on the counter in the 10 seconds I left them there and read one. She was like, "MOM!!!"
this is book is not for Children. An adult book with kids illustrations. "Aight let's tear the roof off this mutha fucka!" - Chick "Someone get my epipen" - Blowfish "Oh Yeah? will you look like a vagina" - Weiner Dog "You motor Boatin' son of a bitch" - Manatee
these are some of the hilarious one lines that will make you laugh.
Irreverently funny, Carla Butwin plays on words and the characteristics we place on certain animals. A quick but hilarious read, I recommend this if you want to see animals make fun on themselves in a PG-13 fashion as well as experience an author playing on our presupposed ideas of what endears us to the creatures in this book. Carla Butwin is going alongside Liz Climo as two of my favorite authors who use animals to share humor.

This is not a kids book even though it looks like one! I found this to be very funny, but hard to describe because it is a combination of the words and the pictures that make this so funny. I would recommend this to any adults that want a good laugh. It doesn't take long to read and is a good pick me up.
