All work and no play makes Darcy a very unfulfilled woman. She has an itch that desperately needs to be scratched. On a much needed vacation Darcy finds herself on a beautiful mountaintop all alone. Determined to make the best of it she dines at the resort bar. Scattered all around are couples engrossed with each other. Feeling a bit cynical she trades quips with the hunk bartender Colm. Right out of the pages of a Playgirl Magazine he is HOT! Colm is a lover at heart. Trying to find his true mate he never stops flirting with the guests. Colm meets his match with Darcy. After shooting back a few shots Colm decides to help Darcy back to her room. Darcy feeling a bit bold kisses Colm; electricity and passion make these two as a matted pair. Will her ego get the better of her? Will Colm claim what is his? Back at home Rory and Sara are making room for a few more additions to the family. There are wolves still on the lower range of the mountain that threaten the family. Can Rory stave them off? Will there ever be peace with the two shifter families? I was so happy to see a new addition to the Silverbirch Shifter series! I cannot wait to read what happens next. Savannah Blake is a good writer. There is a bit of jumping around and sometimes you feel rushed, but overall a good quick series!

Silverbirch Shifters 2) The Cavanaugh Bears got back their mountain, and here we'll see what happens next. Lots went on in this short tale, and I would have liked more background on the people. But it cut to the chase pretty quick. With deep characters to like right away, we are pulled in. Colm, Rory's cousin has come to help establish their bear's territory. Darcy is on vacation and meets Colm. He's wonderful to her and they begin to care for each other. He makes her feel like no other. Alec, an Alpha wolf, and his pack has come to the mountain to find a section of land to grow, hunt and prosper. Colm and Darcy have hot sex with mate bite. This story is interesting, different, suspenseful, and has action, family dynamics, love and caring. Darcy is instrumental in getting a "share" agreement in place. Alec demands a female from Rory's clan, to ensure the pact, but who will it be?? Worth reading the next one for more of the story's history details, the future of the families. ENJOY !!!

What was THAT?

Spoiler! Entire book in a nutshell:

Darcy, a work-a-holic nurse, is handed a vacation to a spa resort on a mountain. Colm is a yummy bartender she meets, and they become attracted to each other. The next day, they go hiking, and she meets Alex, who turns into a wolf. Next thing she knows, Colm turned into a bear, and Colm gets seriously injured in his fight with the wolf.

After several sexual experiences, a gory wolf attack freaks Darcy out, and she high tails it out of there, just to get caught by the wolves. Stupid human..... she knocks her guard unconscious, hiking her way back to the top, find Colm on her way.

They mate, the wolves attack again, and Darcy talks them into sharing territory. The end.

It's like a very long and pointless short story. The sex wasn't even that great. There was no villain, but there is conflict that was unrealistically resolved. Just..... grrrrr.

I enjoyed the second book in the series. I encourage you to read all three parts of the story. Colm is the cousin of the alpha and has now moved home too. He real likes Darcy when he meets her but she is not enjoying their interaction as much. Darcy has been hurt and prefers work to anything else. She is only on vacation because she was pushed to go. She does reluctantly begin to see the appeal of Colm. before they can really explore the attraction, Darcy is thrown into the battle between the wolves and the bear shifters. She is a nurse and wants to heal and all the violence is frightening. Colm has to convince her that what they have together is worth all the changes to her life. I enjoyed visiting with the family and seeing how they were responding to the magic of the mountain. I received a copy in return for a honest review.

So, lets just say I was thoroughly confused when I started reading to about half. I felt like I was missing something. Come to find out this is book 2 of a 3 part series. Yes, it is about 3 different couples but you really need to read in order. Normally right by the title of the book if there is more to the series its indicated by Book 2 of said series. So, no wonder I was confused! Then the book isnt actually that good. Its ok I guess but editing. Story itself seems like half thoughts. The conflict in the book seems really stupid. I mean its resolved by "talking" and this happens after several attacks and even a couple deaths. Really? They couldnt do this first? LOL. Just ridiculous. Now that I read book 2 first I dont even wanna read book 1 or 3.

Standalone shifter book.

Kindle Unlimited read. She's a nurse there on vacation. He's a hot guy who works at the resort. He has a secret...and he wants her. Bear shifter / wolf shifter romance. 3 1/2 stars.
