This novella astounded me when i checked the page count, 61 pages. It flew past, but at the same time it always felt like a full complete storyline.

The Crossroads brotherhood is excellent, funny, imaginative and action packed, a real page turner. I like to save these for special occasions (in this case Christmas) to have the time to sit and enjoy the full thrill ride from start to finish in one sitting.

Robert Fabbri has written a number of these short stories to tie in with his Vespasian series, and very good they are too. I'm not sure whether they come out of stories that he edits out of the main books, or whether they are created as short stories, but they are all interesting, and give more background to some of the characters from the series. Yes, they are short, but good fun.

Most amusing. The embassy of Philo, told from a different perspective. He is a bumbling, highly status conscious buffoon who annoys Vespasian and Magnus, both of whom have more important matters to attend to. I must say, a lot of mayhem in the city of Rome!

Another exciting tale

Enjoyed this further instalment about the Crossroads Brotherhood, and the murky underworld dealings of Magnus
Good accompaniment to the rest of the Vespasian series.

Another slice of gritty, no holds barred action with the 'gentlemen' of the South Quirrinal. Slickly and amusingly written as ever.
