Cicely, Queen of Snow and Ice, is slowly getting used to her new role in life as Queen of Winter. The Vampiric Fae have been conquered and Myst is gone, but now something new is unsettling her kingdom. A ship sails across the Crashing Sea from the Golden Isle with new members for her kingdom, but all of the Sidhe aboard are missing. And the Wilding Fae are appealing to the Fae Queen. Several of their members have vanished, and a large shadowy wolf has been seen on the outskirts of their village.
It seems Fenrick, a wolf-shifter and priest of Hel, the frozen goddess of the underworld, is on the loose, trying to usurp control of the Realm of Snow and Ice. Now, Cicely and her friends must face down the monster before he can marshal the ice giants, and destroy the new Queen and her rule.

Actually, there's still one novella left, so I decide to read it after Night's End ending. Not like the epilogue of Night's End that told Cicely's reign after 25 years, this novella happen 1 year after Cicely defeat Myst. She has finally grow to her Queenly duties and all is well, until one day a ship that supposed to bring new Fae to her court have its passenger vanish like air. The court afraid that Myst might be back, and Cicely did too. But, turn that it's another malice presence that threatened to swallow up Court of Snow and Ice and want to turn the world into the Ice Age, just because.
The novella is short, but will give us a glimpse to what happen to Cicely and her friends. I liked that she still maintain her sisterhood relationship with Rhiannon and how both try to break the tradition. My favorite part is when Galenorn address Cicely and Luna's strained relationship because of the effect from the event in Night's End. Glad that their friendship come strong and Luna prove that she's a formidable ally and friend. The romance aspect is..okay-ish. No Lannan, just mentioned, but right now, I just don't care, lol. At least, Cicely and Grieve love still going strong.
Galenorn hinted that she will write more Cicely's story but I check at her web, that seems like she already finish with this series. I think it's for the best. I also notice that her writing style is much better than the main novel and I like the improvement. Night Shiver is perfect if you like Indigo Court series and want to revisit old characters, also what happen for them after they defeat their enemy.
Glad to see that Cecily seems to be doing well as a queen. Congratulations to Rhia on her pregnancy. Sweet Pea is very cute. Hope they will be able to stop the Frost Giants.
This was a weird one for me as it's kind of an afterthought since it's the last book in the series. I say that because it almost feels like this was setting up a spin off or a second arc for this series. While it was nice to see Cicely established in her court and taking over her duties as queen. The new threat seemingly comes out of nowhere, but Cicely and her court are going to protect her people and figure out what's going on.
I liked this story, but it is a little rushed because it is just a novella story. I would love to see more in this world and I do wish this was setting up a second arc with Cicely getting to come into her full powers as queen.
Indigo Court novella. Cicely and Grieve have been King and Queen of Winter for almost a year now and are finally starting to settle into their roles when they go to welcome a ship from the Golden Isle bringing new members for both the Court of Winter and Summer. When they get to the port though, the ship crashes through it and while they find food and clothing for all who should have been aboard, there are no bodies or other signs of life. While Cicely's thoughts immediately turn towards Myst and her allies, her head knows that it's unlikely to be Myst and they are likely dealing with a new threat. Now she and Grieve must find out who is threatening their Kingdom and how they can be stopped.
I have to say that as much as I love the Otherworld series and those characters, I really enjoyed the Indigo Court series because it really had a good storyline that flowed well and didn't go off on tangents that did not move the main story along. This was a nice return to that world with a story that answered a few questions and gives a continuance to the characters while setting up a new threat. I'll definitely be interested to see where Ms. Galenorn takes it from here.
Love love love the indigo court series! Was so sad when I read the last book , but love that the voices would not leave you alone and you gave us another look into their world ! Loved it thank you so much *fingers crossed* for another :)
I love this series and this novella, set after the events of the main series was a great catch up to see how the characters are all doing in their new roles. Cicely and Rhiannon have both settled into being Queens of their fae courts well, although there are some things of her old life that Cicely misses, but her new life with her new husband definitely makes up for those!
When a new threat looms, fear that Myst has returned from the grave runs through the Court of Ice and Snow, but this new threat may match or even surpass Myst's level. With the help of others from her lands, Cicely know she cannot simply kill this creature, but they must defeat it in one way or another if they are to stop it from taking over her realm and taking her powers with it!
I really hope there will be more books to come in this series as I love these characters and the journeys they have to embark on! There's definitely never a dull moment in the Court of Ice and Snow! Maybe next time we will get to read about the court of Rivers and Rushes as well as I would love to read more about Rhiannon's life too.
Cute and fun, but not terribly necessary. I actively want more Indigo Court books or a spin-off series DESPERATELY. But I felt this was setting up Norse mythology and new enemies coming into the series only to not do anything with it. I liked the scenes with Luna and Druise. And I loved the lynx kitten.
That said it felt a little bit like it was establishing new elements it ultimately wasn't going to allow to pay-off. It was fine, I'd like it more in retrospect if these new plots and enemies were expanded upon in a further title. It was still nice to revisit the Cicely and Luna relationship and watch them mend some fences.
Grieve continues to be far too vanilla and boring but whatever.
A year after Cicely and Rhiannon became queens, a new threat arises. 200 Sidhe are missing from a boat carrying immigrants from the Golden Isle. The only survivor is a snow lynx kitten, Sweet Pea. The Snow Hag visits Cicely, bringing news of an attack on the Wilding Fae. The Summer Court, Winter Court and Crimson Court, with the Wilding Fae, combine forces to stop the attacks, at least for now. Sounds like the beginning of a new series...
This story was a wonderful quick read and a perfect novella to the Indigo Court Series! It was the best way to wrap up the story and yet, leave it open for potential future books to be added later written about future enemies of the Fae Queen of Snow and Ice! Yasmine Galenorn is truly a genius!!!
Cicely, the Queen of Ice and Snow, must defend her kingdom from an invader from another plain. She is joined in the defense by characters the reader met in earlier books. I enjoyed seeing. Cicely grow into her role as a guardian of her realm.
I was excited to read the next book in this series and wasn’t disappointed. I love how Yasmine’s books contain just the right balance of magic, adventure, action, and romance, and how her lead female characters always have a badass side.
This whole series has been amazing. All the characters were well thought out and written.. Cicely and her cousin Rhiannon learned they have lived several life times and are now Queens to the Summer and winter Fae Realms.
I feel like this novella opens a can of worms for a sequel to return to this world to found out how Cicely and company deal with this new enemy when he returns.
Lots of love, action and heartbreak but worth every minute spent reading it!! I'm hopeful that one day more stories can be told with these characters!!

Even a novella can make you want to keep coming back to the world of Cicely and her kingdom. The fighting is not over. There are no enemies on the horizon and there are mysteries to unfold. We also get to see into the world of the Wilding Fae and how Cicely has come to get the hang of the speaking to them. The Snow Hag is an interesting character and there are a few other surprises in this novella that cannot be reveled because it would ruin it for those who wish to read. Yasmine has brought us back to this world and thankfully so because we get to see how everyone is doing after the demise of the Indigo Court.
When you finish Indigo Court #5, you think that's it. That's the end of the story. Then Yasmine Galenorn decides she's not finished, and we reap the rewards!
Night Shivers, Indigo Court #5.5, is wonderful. It's so much fun going back, a little after the series ended, and see how their "Happily Ever After" is working out. Which, of course, it isn't. As we know, "Happily Ever After" is a process, or journey, not a destination.
I love these books, and devour anything I can find of Yasmine's, and I honestly don't understand if you don't too--these are must-read awesome stories from an incredible story teller.
It's been a year since Cicely took the trone of the kingdom of Snow and Ice. New members for both the Summer and Winter courts are coming from the Golden Isles. Cicely and Grieve are waiting for the ship when they realise that something is very wrong. A new and extremely powerful enemy has risen and now the must be up in arms yet again.
This was an awesome short story. The author has promised us more stories from Cicely's world.
Love this series! In my eyes, Yasmine can never go wrong. I love this series and Cicely does it again. Cicely and all her friends and family are always fun to hang out with. They go on some great adventures. Cicely is taking to being Queen of Snow and Ice very well. I loved this book too. I cannot say enough good things about this series.
Strong short story. Continues the story of The Queen of Snow and Ice really well. If I could add one thing it would have been the release of the spirits of the sunken ship.
Yasmine Galenorn returns to her Indigo Court series for this novella. Cicely and her Court may have destroyed Myst, but a new enemy seeks to take over. It was great to read more of the Indigo Court world and I hope there will be more!
I was glad to see this series continue & hope the author continues to expand on it. Indigo Court is a lot of fun to read with vivid descriptions & a great fantasy world with interesting characters.
