Hell's Belles #3

Hell's Belles: Book Three

Rate this book
The Lowcountry of South Carolina is much more than just the city of Charleston. Beyond the church spires of the Holy City, out past the yachts and sailboats in the harbor, lie the mysterious Sea Islands, places with peculiar names like Wadmalaw, Edisto, and Kiawah.

Among them sits Frogmore Island, a wild place where Emma Ayers will seek healing and hope in the haint blue world of the high priest of the area’s Gullah population, Dr. Ibis.

In a place where things as ordinary as trees and glasses of water hold unimaginable power, Emma Ayers will find herself face to face with the Lowcountry’s terrible history, stunning natural beauty, and secrets that outnumber even her never-ending questions.

Won this on Goodreads giveaway. Fun story with a rich, detailed world. I wanted more. I'll have to read the first two now.

Hell's Belles Book Three ended with an attempt to Emma's life. Emma is now recuperating at Frogmore Island. She is saved by Dr. Ibis who is more of a voodoo doctor than a doctor. More of Hell's Belles past are revival.

Emma is realizing her role with the Hell's Belles. She is the weak link until she learns how to use her power. Book Three leaves with a cliff hanger. Readers/Listeners would want to follow Emma to discover each pieces of the Hell's Belles and as Emma discovers roles and while hiding from her enemies. Hopefully the author will continue this series in Summer 2016.

The narrator, Rebecca Schwab continues narrating the story. It is amazing how the narrator could still keep the voices distinguish for all the characters in the story. Not one voice sounds the same for any characters. She does a very good performance as the narrator.

I was given this book by the author via Audiobook Blast in exchange of an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

A great way to continue the story from the cliff hanger in book 2. Loved learning more about the backgrounds of some of the main characters. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
