This is the second book in the trilogy of Star Wars. This movie continues to the Clone Wars animated series. The series adds in a lot of details about all the movies.

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... The galaxy is divided."

I love these little golden books and reading how authors adapt SW films for very young kids.

I think Nicholas did a good job, sticking to the important beats of the movie and capturing the main themes and moments while making the story fitting and appropriate for small kiddos - there was, for example, no mention of a campful of people being massacred or a man being decapitated while his son watched.

The art was very cute and charming.

These books are perfect little SW books to read if you just want to flip through something fun and cute and not dedicate a whole lot of time. Also, I'm sure small humans would like these books - I certainly would've as a child!

4,2 estrellas.

This is another great adaptation of the Star Wars movie for kids. It sums up the main points of the plot nicely and would be perfect for a read aloud or read along. However I did notice that it convienently glosses over any deaths or murder, and doesn't even have the word "kill" or "death/dies" in it, which I understand but may be difficult to explain if a child reads this while watching the movie.

This was cute and hit the important parts of the story in a way that didn't jump around too much...but two thoughts:
a) Padmé looks nothing like herself. As in, if it weren't for the hairstyles, my reaction would seriously have been "wait, who's this?"
b) they just...casually skipped over . I get why, but it's kind of important.

I borrowed this mostly to look at the artwork. The book covers the major plot points, but neatly sidesteps 1) the ethics of Anakin murdering a bunch of women and children in a sand people camp, and 2) Dooku cutting off Anakin's hand.

Audiobook - A good audiobook which covers extra in-sites that don't come up in the film

This is definitely a toned downed version of Attack of the Clones, but it needs to be since that was a fairly violent movie. I think it is a cute book for children.

This is a great bedtime book for my kid. A good summary of the movie with many references to the characters and locations. One interesting thing that I noticed, it says that Dooku wielded twin crimson lightsabers, but I distinctly remember him only having one in the movie and even the illustration in the book has him wielding only one. After some research I may have gotten to the bottom of it, apparently in the original script Lucas envisioned Dooku dual wielding lightsabers, but that was obviously dropped from the movie. There were actually some scenes filmed of Christopher Lee duel welding lightsabers that can be seen the the special features of the DVD release. So I conclude that the writer of this book must have been working off of the original version of the script.

I thought the illustrations were really good on this entry into "The Star Wars" universe. The story was simple and will do well with bring new (younger) fans into the Rebel Alliance.
One thing I will say about this book, it made Padme' look a lot older than she was supposed to be. This little book was better than the movie. This one was not my favorite in the prequels.

Okay let me start this but saying, I have only vaguely watched the Star Wars movies. I have this book because my Husband is a huge Star Wars fan and I knew he would enjoy them with our daughter. The story was interesting and a fun read. My daughter really enjoyed the pictures.

This was a great sum up of this classic film, perfect for kids who might not be old enough to handle the movie yet ;)
