Each plant is a different color, and at the back is a big lift-the-flap rainbow to reinforce the colors you've learned. Debbie Powell is an illustrator and calligrapher whose work is inspired by ancient Egyptian jewelry and African textiles, among other influences. She lives in London.

Over all I like this book. There is nothing wrong with it. I just do not think it is something as an adult I will reread. I can see kids enjoying it for the flap surprise. And the fact it is a color book as well means it would be great for a preschool classroom.

This was beautifully illustrated, easy to understand poetry for little ears, and lift that flap color identification. Both my 4 and 2 year old enjoyed this interactive read.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This lift the flap book of nature and colors. Each page introduces a different ecosystem (ocean, backyard, mountaintop, etc) in muted tones filled with organic and geometric shapes depicting a variety of life found within that system. The flaps open to reveal bright pops of color. Great to use when talking about color or different outdoor environments. Highly Recommend!
