Reminds me of that one Stephen King story, its a great creepypasta and one of the author's best works in my opinion. I love the concept of urban legends like that.
Read the story but recently listened to it on CreepCast
A very good short story ! Two young women start college and share a bedroom next door to the sinister room 733, famed for being a suicide hotspot in the campus. Strange occurrences start to happen: could the explanation be a mundane one? Is it a ghost? A demon? Or something else entirely? Both Stephen King and Algernon Blackwood seem to be inspirations for C. K. Walker. The latter is particularly visible here, as well as Lovecraft: this story has shades of Blackwood's The Occupant of the Room, where a man lents the vacant room of a missing woman, and starts experiencing crushing thoughts and what could amount to a haunting.
this was a fun little ghost story for Halloween this year! i feel like i haven’t read enough spooky ghost stories for Halloween this year. this wasn’t “horror” really. it was a short paranormal story with plot & engaging characters. of course there were a few questionable decisions being made but, you always have that in these kinds of stories 🤷🏻♀️
C.K Walker does a fantastic job with her characters dialogue. that is one area i typically feel is never lacking in her stories. she does a great wrap up at the end, sometimes with a cliffhanger. all in all, her work is always solid & enjoyable. (we don’t acknowledge Borrasca IV).
i listened to this through CreepCast with Papa Meat & Wendigoon.
This is one of the best scary stories I’ve ever read. I first read it on Reddit around 5 or so years ago and I still remember it all this time later. While it was a lot longer than most short stories, I barely noticed due to how engrossed in the story I was. It felt believable and I didn’t suspect the twist at the end. All in all, I definitely recommend it.
Was pretty good, the dialogue is always really fun to read from this author, and overall the story was immersive and the twists were fun! Just great overall.
