Six weeks ago, Angel earned her wings. Six weeks ago, Angel killed an innocent person. Six weeks ago, Angel set Lucifer free.
Michael doesn't accept that Lucifer is alive, let alone free, and he should know – he was the one to kill him. Thankfully, Veronica and the cherubim are on her side, only they seem more interested in proving Michael wrong than helping put Lucifer back in hell.
Then there’s Joshua. Angel is convinced that the best way for her charge to stay alive is for her to stay away. The problem is that Michael is adamant she remain his guardian angel.
Can Angel keep her charge and New Orleans safe from the evil that is lurking, or will her own demons be their downfall?
Cheryl works in an office by day. By night she leads a (not-so) secret life DJing, and throughout it all, is constantly scribbling away as the plot bunnies demand constant attention.
Her first novel was written when she should have been revising for her exams. While it is unlikely to ever see the light of day, it was the start of long relationship with the evil plot bunnies of doom.
A need to do more than just one subject led her to the University of Hull, where she graduated with an honours degree in American Studies. For the third year of the four year degree, she was able to call Baton Rouge home. Since then, Louisiana has claimed a large chunk of her heart, and remains a place she will always consider home.
LSU was where she discovered FanFiction and currently writes (mainly) CSI:NY stories and a Rescue: Special Ops story.
When not transcribing the stories of the angels and archangels, working, or DJing, she is at the beck and call of three cats – all of whom rank higher in the household than she does.

In "Angel Eclipsed" the next exciting chapter in the "Louisiangel" series Angel Connors for six weeks has been wallowing in bed after killing a "Fallen" locked in the body of an innocent human. But what's even more earth shattering for Angel is that she suspects that Lilah told her the truth about Lucifer being set free. Only when "Radio Joshua" begins ringing in her head heralding trouble for her charge does Angel stifle her pain to find and save him.
With Michael in denial, her only allies Veronica and the cherubim believing her theory about Lucifer Angel begins investigating her suspicion especially after five "Potentials" are found murdered. Fighting her feelings Joshua, the detective trainee looking into the killings she begins to find evidence that substantiates her suspicions, only to walk into a trap that has them fighting for their lives, and uncovering clues to two ruthless and dangerous Princes of Darkness living in New Orleans.
Although slow at first as Angel tries to overcome her guilt and regret, continues her training with Raphael, and struggles to gain Michael's support to alleviate her doubt about Lucifer's death, the momentum and action heats up when she discovers a barkeep, Terrance (Ty) Hamilton who agrees to get her an ID so she check out rumors about a nearby bar. The plot progresses smoothly and quickly as trouble surrounds Angel and Joshua not only when he's faced with trouble at work and five deaths but with mounting evidence that a mole is buried in the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD). In a story filled with fascinating background details about the angels and demons and surprising twists like a confrontation with a possessed police officer, intensity and suspense quickly escalates.
Guilt-ridden, fearing her presence could endanger his life, Angel tries to draw away from Joshua, asking Michael to replace her as his guardian angel. Yet with every encounter and every dream walk the romance gets more intense until she's forced to face her feelings for him. In contrast Michael senses a wrongness in his affection for Angel but at Cupid's instigation he takes her on a quick trip to Paris. Although not drawn to him romantically Angel yearns to be able to trust Michael who seems to have a listening deficit when it comes to her.
Angel Connors in this story matures as well as developing physically after earning her wings. Regretting her part in Lilah's death she struggles to overcome her pain, uncertainty and anxiety, finally finding an anchor in Joshua. Determined to do what's right and keeping her promise to Veronica and the cherubim she stubbornly searches for the truth about Lucifer's death only to naively walk into danger. Joshua Walsh is pig-headed when it comes to Angel, refusing to admit defeat when it comes to his growing feelings for her. Flirtatious and teasing but also sincere, caring and honest it is these traits that win Angel's heart. The archangel Michael continues to be obstinate, authoritative and serious although he tries to win Angel's trust by revisiting a painful memory. It is these characters and others that infuse this absorbing, imaginative and well-developed tale with tension, passion and drama.
I was intrigued by "Angel's Eclipse" and couldn't put it down as the danger to Angel, her angelic family and Joshua continues to mount. Innovatively C.L. Coffey captures a world of angels and demons where good and evil clash and a final war looms that keeps you coming back to learn more.
Well!! I blew through that one very quickly! And what a pleasure it was! Even though it’s been over a year since I read the first book, Coffey makes it easy to just dive right back in. As always, the characters are consistently great, even if **SOME OF THEM** can be very much of the “winged a-hole” type... The Supernatural references are strong with this one, and Coffey shows the same high-caliber story-building as those writers, for instance in the way Angel and Josh both wrestle with the nefarious “imposter syndrome” many of us are familiar with (“Why is it me?” “What am I doing?” “Did I make the right choice?”) in their professional lives as well as their personal ones. It’s a bit more serious and perilous than the first one, not so much of a lighter tone, not as many hilarious moments, but it accomplishes some vital stages in character development, and sets up the next book so well that I almost wish I was reading Book 3 right now!
Fantastic sequel to a fantastic book. If you likes Angel in Training, then you need this next installment of the series!
It's been six weeks since the events of book 1, and Angel is spiraling out of control. Depressed and mentally stuck in the moment she killed Lilah, she hasn't eaten or slept, or even left her room for that matter. But when Joshua radio flares up, she forces herself up out of the house and back to save her charge. Step one was getting out of her room: step two is coming to terms with what she did.
The author didn't skimp on the pain that accompanies guilt. Angel is truly suffering, with PTSD on top of her angelic guilt. So it's not that easy, with all that on your shoulders, to try and convince the people around you that Lucifer has risen. Michael refuses to believe her, which just makes everything worse. Angel might have earned her wings, but she has yet to earn his trust - and him, hers.
Angel is now leading her own investigation into the unsettling club, "Bee's," that had taken up so much of her focus in the first book. But she's not entirely alone: Veronica the chrub might be the only one who believes her about Lucifer rising, and she's determined to prove it. With Joshua by her side, and a few new allies, the stakeout begins.
The novel focuses more on Angel's growing relationship with her charge, Joshua. They both have definite feelings for each other, but everything is banned by Michael. A bit of "will they, won't they" spices up the novel, as Angel tries to balance her work life and potential love life.
The only reason I gave this novel four stars instead of five was that the pacing was off. The novel was pretty slow for the most part, without anything really happening until the last fifty or so pages: but dang, what an ending! I was so excited as the pieces fell into place, and I can't wait for more. Luckily I have the third book to look forward to!
The second installment of Louisiangel series, Angel Eclipsed continues the intense and dramatic story of Angel in Training. After the events during the hurricane, Angel strongly believes that Lucifer has been raised, but her boss, archangel Micheal, is in serious denial. Fighting the forces of evil and her attraction to her charge, Angel has a lot on her plate. I loved this novel. It was riveting, engaging and addicting. The world that is created in this fiction universe is charming and fun to read. I love the characters of Angel and Joshua. Their quirks hit me right in gut. They are riveting characters that made the story more dynamic. Their romance is tense and very well done. I fell in love with both of them as the story progressed. They were both, along with a whole slew of other characters, were well rounded. Plot wise, Angel Eclipsed was very well done. I had a great time reading it. It's action packed with danger around every corner. The world is jam packed with angels, demons and the creatures in between. I recommend Angel Eclipsed and the rest of the Louisiangel series. I give Angel Eclipsed FOUR AND A HALF OUT OF FIVE STARS!!! Want more of me? Go to: http://thenotsopubliclibrary.blogspot...
I am so in love with this series it is not even funny. I think what I love most about it is that I don't have the plot figured out yet and it is driving me nuts!!!
I still have so many questions and this opened up so much more, grrrr... I still think the biggest point for me is what is it about Joshua?
I am planning on doing a larger review when I have a chance but Cheryl, you have outdone yourself love and I cannot wait for book 3!
Unlike any other books I've read, this one has a believable story line. I'm going to read each one. Hard to put these books down. One of the best I've read on kindle and not have to pay lots of money for. I'd recommend these to everyone and especially to those who are believers in Heaven and hell
The second installment of the Louisiangel Series is brilliant. I love the aspects Angel has to deal with and the progression of angelic lore throughout the book. There is a romance element running through this book more than the first which I think some readers will truly enjoy. I'm looking forward to seeing what awaits Angel in the next book.
