Meteorology professor Ethan ‘Rain Talker’ Carter has more important things to do than chase after that crazy na hullo photographer again, even if Chandler seems hell bent on ending up inside the dang tornado they’re chasing. Chandler is seeking the perfect shot, and he’s got his eye set on more than the angry looking storm breaking over the Oklahoma horizon.

This was short but enjoyable overall. I would have liked a little more of their relationship since they just found out they liked each other and to see what happened with the book proposal. I also would have liked to see more of Ethan’s heritage and weather abilities. 3 out of 5 stars.
Well, it is part of a collection called Heartland Briefs, and it was but it sure packed a lot of action in there. There is the calm(ish) before the storm, giving us a bit of background on both Ethan and Chandler. The storm itself is short but intense. And then there is the aftermath - apologies made, secrets shared and the start of something more. All that a story should have. I did get confused at one point who was who and I think that is because of the brevity I hadn't had time to fix them fully in my head. Will certainly look at other Heartland Briefs 3.75*
Even though this is a very short story, It actually felt very complete. Truly, I would really like to see this be expanded into a full-length book as I think it has the potential for a lot more. The characters of Chandler and Ethan felt genuine, and I'd love to get more of their backstory and a deeper look at their connection. Considering the length of this story, I think it says a lot about the author's ability to craft a character if I want to know more once I'm done reading...it means that the author got me invested in those characters--even though it took me maybe a half hour to read this.
Four stars for this interesting and spicy short read!
This was short, so obviously we don't get a huge amount of back story and information, but I thought the author did a good job at giving us a hint of the history about the guys. I didn't quite understand how Ethan went from seemingly hating Chandler to finding him irresistible and realizing he had feelings for him; it would have been nice to have a little more depth in this story. I did enjoy this, though, and I liked the weather aspect.
Storm chasers - now there's a fun dynamic I haven't seen in romance books. This was a captivating storyline where I couldn't help but think of the movie Twister, except this story has smart and sexy Ethan. His character was really interesting, and I certainly wouldn't mind learning much more about him. This was a great short read!
