Ryder Diamond the town's golden boy doesn’t have time for taking chances, let alone love. He doesn’t have time for dating at all, he doesn’t want to be burned by a woman like it happened in the past. So the most important thing for him is control. When his friends set him up on a blind date he accepts since the woman he supposed to meet is only passing through town. Whitney James’s life shattered when she lost her sister. She’s planning to spend a few weeks in town and after to take off again. She doesn’t plan to get attached to anything or anyone. All she wants is to live, to feel, to take chances.
When Ryder meets Whitney he thinks she’s the woman he supposed to meet. He’s taken by her from the very first moment, by her beauty and by her wild spirit.
After one hot night together, Ryder didn’t expect to meet the gorgeous brunette again, especially working as a waitress in his sister’s dinner. Whitney represents everything Ryder was supposed to stay away from, but Whitney challenges the sexy cowboy every time they meet.
I really enjoyed this one! I liked both Ryder and Whitney and I loved them together. Whitney was a great heroine. She’s sassy, sexy and wild and she knows what she wants. And she goes for it. Ryder was great as well. He can be the perfect gentleman as much as he can be the perfect dirty talker.
They were good for each other and I really felt it. Their chemistry was off the charts, palpable and I loved their sexy times. I loved how Whitney provoked Ryder and I loved seeing Ryder losing control. The drama and angst are low here and it was great meeting again all the characters from the previous books in the series.
Overall, this was a great addition to this series and I’m looking forward to read more about the other characters.

Joya's Chasing Love has been easily one of my favorite Brazen series this year. The last time I enjoyed a series this much was when I read Elle Kennedy's After Hours series. It's deliciously sexy with fantastic characters, smoking hot sex, and a fun story to wrap everything around. I eagerly anticipate each release and to say that I've been dying to finally get my hands on Ryder's books would be a mild understatement. It's always those quiet, good ole' boys that have that yummy dirty side to them so I knew that Ryder would not disappoint. And boy he sure as hell didn't!
For Ryder the only thing more precious to him besides his reputation is his control. He's only lost control once and it it almost cost him everything. When his friends set him up on a blind date and a case of mistaken identity lead him to have the hottest sex of his life with a dark haired beauty that shatters his control, the last thing he expects is to see her the next morning working in his sister's diner.
Whitney James is a floater. Going from town to town, all she wants to do is live her life in a way that her sister will never be able to. Her loss shattered her and left her completely on her own and completely unattached to anyone or anything. But nothing revs her motor more that tempting the town's golden boy to lose control...with her. Because she knows that under his proper manners and cowboy head is a wild side that's just begging to come out.
I loved seeing all of my favorite couples from the previous books but Whitney and Ryder definitely stole the show. Their chemistry was positively combustible. I loved both these characters and I definitely loved them together. Whitney was so much fun and she wasn't afraid to push Ryder's buttons even when he was too stubborn to do anything about it. But ultimately his control would always snap and the result was something that never failed to get my ovaries going...
If you haven't read this series yet, I'm not sure what you're thinking. You NEED to. Trust me. Your ovaries will thank me. Chasing Mr. Wrong was another fantastic addition to what's quickly becoming my ultimate guilty pleasure series. I love it! And I simply cannot wait for more.

4 - "Fuck me like you mean it." Stars!
I think there is one thing that without doubt Joya Ryan excels at, and that is writing varied and plentiful sexy-times with her couples. The Chasing Love series has certainly highlighted this and Chasing Mr. Wrong offers up plenty of energetic and diverse sexy situations between Ryder Diamond and Whitney James to keep the book interesting and the story moving along at a steady pace.
The dynamic between this couple was a sort of opposites attract type situation, Ryder being known and loved around town can’t deny the pull of attraction between him and drifter Whitney, and after what he thought was meant to be just one night turns out to have potential to be more, he struggles to find balance.
Giving in to the wild was a bad idea.
Whitney likes the Ryder that comes out to play in private, the politically correct version that he puts on for everyone else, because he believes that how they actually perceive him, just makes her push at him until the dirty talking, dirty doin’ Ryder comes back into play.
”I’ve never had a woman put a condom on me with her mouth before.”
I really like this series, each and every character so far has had a little something about them that makes you as a reader enjoy their journeys, there’s a little drama in this one, but I think the author balanced it out perfectly, and it added to rather than detracted from the story being told.

What I enjoyed the most about this one is the way Whitney tries to push and provoke Ryder. It was fun to see the calm and collected guy lose control. The banter was great. The sexy time was great.
Even though this is a standalone and I've read all three books previous to this, I can't remember those books too well. So I wonder how memorable this one will be? And the end was just cringe worthy but I enjoyed it anyways.

The more time he spends with her the more he is falling for her. Whitney is on the move and getting involved with Ryder tips her balanced life and messes with her heart.
This is a great read. The chemistry between Ryder and Whitney is off the charts. Although, both have lost someone in their life, together they discover a passion and love that will either see them through or destroy them both.
It is a well written roller-coaster ride full of emotions and confusion, as Ryder and Whitney try to figure out what they really want in life. The author did a great job of tying up all the loose ends and giving me the happily ever after than I wanted. Awesome read!

Take this one for example, Chasing Mr. Wrong. The perfect hot and easy read, low on drama, angsty enough and a panty dropper dirty talker hero.

I really enjoyed all the previous titles in this series by Joya Ryan, all satisfying reads, delivering steam, romance and funny times.
Chasing Mr. Wrong applied to all of the above if not better. It was my favorite from the series!
Setting in a small town, it all starts with a good old night stand scenario. Except, of course, the one night stand transforms into something more despite both characters reluctance.
Ryder —not a cowboy—Diamond is the remaining single man of the group of friends we’ve learned to know and love, he’s also the one I was the most curious about. Silent, brooding alpha male, I was sure he was not the picture perfect image he was trying to maintain.
Living on the promise she made herself after loosing her sister, Whitney roams free from town to town, experience after experience until one fateful night in a bar situated in Diamond.
A smoking hot supply closet encounter between both main characters hooked me right in, only leaving me craving more.
The chemistry between these two heroes fundamentally opposed to each other was definitely off the charts, Ryder revealing himself to be the best kind of dirty talker with an exhibitionism kink he could barely control in Whitney’s presence.
I appreciated the playful banter between them, loved witnessing Ryder losing it for Whitney and enjoyed the lack of drama.
All in all a perfect quick read!

Meh...too many books and too little time to spend on one I'm not loving. This starts off as a one night stand, which is fine, but the heroine is just too vocal and pushy for me. Morning after surprises and cheesy hostility kind of topped it off. Just not my cuppa.

3.5 Ryder-dipping stars
This has been a great series, with each set of characters per book, having their own dynamic, their own uniqueness, which helps to meld the inhabitants of Diamond together.
Ryder Diamond is a man in control. He has big responsibilities, and has earnt his reputation. So much time being invested in work, finds Ryder severely deficient in the romance department. Out of the goodness of their hearts, Ryder’s pals think he has more than earn’t some down time, and set him up on a blind date.
Whitney James finds herself in the little town of Diamond, as she weedles her way from state to state. Meandering around a pool table, her luck is definitely looking up, given the fine specimen she falls upon. Contemplation doesn’t come into it, when you are being lured, and Ryder Diamond has an appeal that few women can resist.
A fumble in a small, dark place kicks off the beginning of a mutual attraction that Ryder battles with. I loved how this character struggled to maintain control around Whitney. He was a great talker, even surprising himself, but was constantly attempting to stay on the straight and narrow, given his previous experiences.
Whitney was a breath of fresh air. Her nomad lifestyle was also driven by ghosts in her past, that she anticipated would reoccur. But in the meantime, she was going to have fun..and watching her draw the wild and wanton side out of Ryder was an absolute treat.
Joya’s ability to create such a great cast of characters is to be applauded, and each book in the series has helped to build a great storyline.

Whitney is new in town. She doesn't have a home and drifts from place to place enjoying life and trying to get over the death of her sister. Ryder Diamond has been hurt before and now he lives his life according to his plans. He doesn't take risks or live wild and free. The last time he lived free, he got burned so now he always plays it safe. It works for him until he meets free spirit Whitney and they have an attraction so strong Ryder can't fight it.
I really loved this story. It was super HOT and I really liked both Whitney and Ryder. My only complaint about this was that the story wrapped up kind of quickly and I would've preferred an epilogue a little further in the future. Highly recommend!

Sexy ONS turns to more trope which I love.
Pluses were smex scenes were superhot and I really liked the h.
But the H not so much, he was uptight, did that push-pull thing with h treating her a bit like a dirty secret. When she declares her love he rejects her pretty brutally - and I wanted her to just go and never look back!! He didn't deserve her light in his life.
Also the H had been already been in love and heartbroken by his ex's betrayal, so much that it changed him, I wanted h to be his only love:((I think H made the h pay for his ex's sins. Anyway the H does a-barely-grand gesture and all is forgiven and there is a HEA.
3.5 stars for the h and smexy times.

There are only three authors in the Entangled imprint, Brazen, whose books consistently work for me - Tessa Bailey, Megan Erickson and Joya Ryan. I binge-read the previous books in the Chasing Love series and had so much fun with them. Ryder, the main character featured in Chasing Mr. Wrong, has always been rather uptight, but I knew that his book would be entertaining and I couldn't wait for his heroine to help him unwind. So I went into Chasing Mr. Wrong with much excitement. Like the previous books in the series, it was a winner for me!
Ryder was probably the best part about this book for me. Being the golden-boy of his small-town, Diamond and a member of the founding family, he always had to please everyone because he was always in the limelight. He struggled with that because it kept him on a leash and prevented his more passionate side to emerge. When he accidentally has sex with Whitney, a girl he mistakes for his blind date, in a supply closet, things begin to change and Ryder wonders if it's finally time to satisfy himself rather than the rest of the town. Whitney was the perfect girl for him. She was bitten by the wanderlust bug and was constantly traveling over the country while at the same time battling with the grief of having lost her role model and older sister in a car accident. She was spunky, not afraid to go after what she wanted, and honest. She could be reserved at times, but she slowly started to open up to Ryder throughout the book. I also loved watching her make friends with some of the previous couples in the series as they welcomed her into their tight group.
These friends, especially Penny, Ryder's sister, were the ultimate Ryder+Whitney shippers and this made for some fun scenes. Ryder and Whitney together were one firecracker of a couple. They were sexy as heck and very very passionate. The sexy times in Chasing Mr. Wrong were tension-filled and super steamy. I also enjoyed the more emotional side to their relationship as well and I really enjoyed their conversations, especially. Their relationship did face some obstacles with Ryder trying to resist his attraction to Whitney at the beginning, and also Ryder's reservations because he was nervous about disappointing the town, but thankfully, they didn't last too long and he got over them quickly.
Entangled Brazen fans, if you haven't tried Joya Ryan yet, change that asap! Her books have the perfect balance of steamy and sweet and will leave you fanning yourself and swooning at the same time. Chasing Mr. Wrong was no exception!

Ryder Diamond has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. After a youthful mistake nearly cost him everything, he’s lived his life on the straight & narrow, unwilling to take risks. That is all about to change when Whitney blows into town.
Whitney is grieving for the loss of her sister, hoping to keep her memory close by living her life the way her sister lived hers. Living it. The town of Diamond was supposed to be just a place to regroup, save up some money so she could pick up and move on. But that plan is shot to hell when one night with ‘not a cowboy’ Ryder Diamond.
Although Chasing Mr. Wrong is book four in a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I do have to say that the other characters held my interest enough to want to read the earlier books in the series.
Things kick off pretty early, within the first twenty percent our H/h have met and are banging away in a supply closet and I loved that I did not have to wait for the sparks to fly. These two weren’t looking for a deep connection, they were all about satisfying a hunger! But sparks turn into flames as these two still can’t keep their hands off of each other. I loved the way they met, the misunderstanding that is later revealed – creative introductions in romances are the best thing EVER.
I think what I enjoyed the most was that Ryder’s loss of control seemed like the most natural thing in the world. We weren’t fed a bunch of controlled moments, but it was sensed that his behavior was typically not the type to rip a girls panties off in a parking lot – but the story didn’t focus on the regular controlled version of Ryder.
For Whitney, there was a big story there lurking in her past and I really did want to know more about her. The length of the story really did not allow for too much to be discovered and if I had to say what really kept me from loving this story; it would be that. The story was short, but the characters had far more depth than what the pages allowed. So I guess that really isn’t a negative, because it did leave me wanting more –
I look forward to going back to the first book in this series and getting to know how each couple ended up where they are now. But if you like your hero with calloused hands and a bit of sweat on his brow, this is a book to check out.

This was a quick fun read about a man who was burned before when he followed his impulses so he values his control above anything else and a woman who wants to live her life to the fullest and refuses to be tied down. It's a case of a ONS that turns into more which is always fun to read about. Nothing really special but it was a good in-between read ;)

The dancing around each other scenario kinda bores me. I want you but you don't want me to want you. So I should stay away but then you'll miss me because I'm such a sexy little flirt. Ughh!! Back and forth repeatedly.

Chasing Mr. Wrong is the fourth novel in the Chasing Love series by Joya Ryan. It can be completely read as a stand alone and that is how I read it. The writing is extremely well done, in fact, so much so that I feel like I blinked and I was done reading the book. It's not that it doesn't have content, or that the plot isn't good, or that it doesn't have a lot of pages... it's just so well done that I didn't put it down.
The fact that I blinked and it was over is both good and bad, because it means it'll be a short review. I was beyond amused at the hero and heroine in Chasing Mr. Wrong. Talk about two people fighting a love connection that pretty much sets your Kindle on fire. I fully believe that the synopsis also covers this book perfectly and you do get some great surprises and plot twists thrown in.
The book has just enough angst, and a tiny bit of drama to make it perfect. My only actual complaint and the reason it got four stars from me is that I would have liked to have seen more content. The plot focuses pretty much on Ryder and Whitney, but it does it in a really good way. So, this is one of those novels I'd take off to the bathtub with me for a good soak. Lets you focus on the book, relax and just drift. :D

Joya Ryan's Chasing Love series has been one of my favourites to come from the Brazen imprint. Everything has worked for me --the dynamic between the guys, the feistiness of the ladies and the plentiful sexy-time; it's ticked all the boxes of what I need in a sexy easy-read romance and this continues with Ryder and Whitney's romance.
I loved this couple. Whitney's fun nature and capability to press all his buttons compliments Ryder's stubbornness perfectly and leads to some very heated bedroom action. There's some drama, but it doesn't overshadow the romance, the banter between the boys is as amusing as ever and as always we see the softer side of these men.
"I never liked being caught until I met you."
Each of the couples in this series have brought something different, and quickly win the reader over with their traits and quirks. Ryder is one of those characters I couldn’t wait to read about. When he first step onto the pages of Chasing Trouble, the first book in the Chasing Love series, I knew he was my type of hero. Ryder has manners galore, he’s hardworking, he has a sense of family, and has an amazing set of friends. I honestly thought his heroine would have been Lily McCade, his friend Colt’s younger sister. However, discovering Ryder’s secret, I can understand why Whitney is/was the woman for him.
Whitney doesn’t conform to the little box Ryder wants to keep her in. The two first meet when Ryder mistakes her for someone else and thinks she’s only in town for one night. With Whitney, Ryder allows himself to be carefree, fun, and a little wild. All the things Whitney is. In addition to her carefree, wild side, Whitney is caring and unbeknownst to her, longs for the friendship and family she lost.
Together, Ryder and Whitney are combustible. Whenever they are together at least privately, they can’t keep their hands off each other and clothes on. Even in public, their eyes are undressing each other. Whitney challenges Ryder to let his wild fun side free, which because of Ryder’s past scares him.
I love the romance of Chasing Mr. Wrong. I love the way Whitney and Ryder try to fight their attraction to each other. But with all the books in the Chasing Love series, what I love most is the friendship between the main and secondary characters. The series is based on a group of friends from childhood, who know each other extremely well and are always there to shell out advice, whether or not the advice is solicited.
Now, Lily McCade is the only remaining unattached character. I really hope she gets a book. I would love for her to have a happy ending for herself and her son, Alex.

The book is a really fast read. It wasn't for lack of content. I just kind of blinked and it was over. Both Whitney and Ryder are fierce characters. They fight hard. They love hard. And the sex it up HARD!!
This is a must read story that will keep you on your toes and wanting to know how things turn out for Ryder and Whitney. This was my first Joya Ryan novel, and I will definitely be on the look out for other books by her to read!

Ryder has a ton of responsibilities since his last name is the same as the town’s. He feel like everyone expects perfection from him. He can’t make a mistake. He can’t take time for himself. The weight of what everyone expects is like a ton of bricks and it is causing him to become hardened before his time.
Whitney is the polar opposite of Ryder. She is a tumbleweed. She has no expectations. She has no one putting pressure on her but herself. She is alone in the world. While Ryder’s cup is full to the top with friends, family and responsibilities, Whitney’s is nearly empty.
They end up needing each other more than either of them know.
She is only looking for a one night stand. And in the beginning so is Ryder. But as we know, the more you get to know someone, the more things change, feeling morph and suddenly you wonder how you ever lived without them. But Ryder’s responsibilities are still pulling at his mind and they cause a lot of conflict between the couple.
I thought this was a great book. Lots of growth for the characters. Lots of conflict internal and external. Just the right mix of sexy and romantic suspense. Just an excellent guilty pleasure read.

Entangled's Brazen imprint is my go-to when I'm in the mood for a short, sexy book with some serious steam. When it comes to this line, Joya Ryan is definitely one of my auto-buy (or auto-request, in this case) authors. Not only are her books hot as hell, I like that they offer some feels, too.

For some reason lately I have read about one night stands that turn into more and this story was no different. Ryder is set up by his friends to meet Candy for a date. When he meets the woman in question she is playing pool and eating sour patch kids. The end up having a great time in more ways then one.
Whitney never stays in a place for more then she has to. While in town she ends up working at a bbq restaurant to earn money so she can move on. What she didn't plan was to loose her heart to Ryder.
What should have been one night quickly turns into a few nights but they agree not to go public. Now that the game has changed Ryder has to decide if Whitney is worth loosing his heart to especially since she never planned to stay.
This story had some steamy scenes and you can tell these two had some serious chemistry. What I didn't like was that Ryder was trying to prove to the town how good of a construction worker/boss he was when the town is named after his family. It's like this guy gave him such a hard time and poor Ryder couldn't live his own life.
I thought Whitney was fun. Some of her lines were pretty hilarious. She definitely had a good sense of humor. I enjoyed watching her and Ryder fall in love. I do wish they would have had more dating time because I really liked the characters. I liked them so much I wished the story was longer.
I'm glad this book didn't contain some crazy love triangle but these two both were running from something and they found a common ground between them.

Ryder and Whitney have an opposites attract thing going on from the first time they meet. He's Mr. in control of all things, including his romantic (or lack thereof) life. Whitney is a wild and free spirit. When their 'supposed to be only one night' turns into 'you're here for the whole summer?!' Ryder has his hands full trying to convince himself that he can see Whitney and not lust after her. But it turns out he can't, and time and again he forgets his own rules. Can two ships passing in the night be each others anchors?
I quite enjoyed this lighthearted, sexy and fun read. It was great to see staid, solid Ryder get his come-uppance in the form of sexy sassy Whitney. Chasing Mr. Wrong was a very good read.
The characters were likable, the storyline was entertaining and held my interest from start to finish.
I really enjoyed watching Ryder and Whitney together, they had amazing chemistry and a great rapport with each other.
I loved how Ryder came alive being with Whitney. This polite golden boy finally met his match, she made him feels things he had been denying himself for years. He took chances and the wild side of him he fought so hard to control came out and he was enjoying life.
Ryder and Whitney truly were perfect for each other, they were able to both open their hearts, put their fears aside and love unconditionally.
The Chasing Love series has been a wonderful read, each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend them all.

I loved how Ryder came alive being with Whitney. This polite golden boy finally met his match, she made him feels things he had been denying himself for years. He took chances and the wild side of him he fought so hard to control came out and he was enjoying life.
Ryder and Whitney truly were perfect for each other, they were able to both open their hearts, put their fears aside and love unconditionally.
The Chasing Love series has been a wonderful read, each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend them all.

This is a quick, fun, sexy read that was awesome! An opposites attract story that had me glued to the pages.
Ryder is Mr. Dependable. Determined to live his life on the straight and narrow after a youthful mistake he doesn't take chances. That is until Whitney James blows into town and the attraction and lust sweeps him away! After the loss of her sister, Whitney is determined to live every day of her life the way her sister would have - full out! Getting involved with Ryder doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do but she's only in town for the summer so what harm could there be! Right???
These two have chemistry right from the start and I loved how well they worked together. If your looking for a great afternoon read I would definitely recommend this one.

Great storyline I am thrilled to see Ryder loose is firm grip of control on his life. To see the side of him I knew was missing.
Whitney is fun, sassy, and free spirited. She doesn't stay in one place long and attachments is not something she is into. Yet something about Ryder makes her want to help him loosen up.
The amazing chemistry is enough to melt your panties off. The golden boy letting loose and being bad is sexy as hell.
