ARC kindly provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

4**** stars for the first part

Hot dragons are back!! This is the first part of the eighth story of Dark kings. In this story we have the sweet Dr Sophie Martin and Darius, so far the story is really well promising.

After some passionate moments they had Sophie promised never trust a man again..but days later Darius is back, threatening to make her break that promise because he simply can't resist him. The same goes for Darius but unfortunately can't have her, then Ulrik that sneaky man figured that something is going with the two of them and now Sophie is in his radar and that's something Darius doesn't want and do anything in his power to protect the human creature that excites his heart & body.

Full review review to come when i read the whole book!!

One thing that I can say with certainty is that I loved this book! This book was packed with action, romance, passion, suspense, basically everything you could ever wish for! I am soooo happy that I received all 4 parts of this book at once because I found myself at the end of each book and kept trying to turn the page for more.

Overall great book probably my favorite in the whole Dark King series. This book is being sold in 4 parts for 1.99 each on Kindle Amazon and also 1 whole book for 7.99 for your reading pleasure.

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review

Darius is back in Edinburg to make sure everything is safe and the last thing he expects is evil to be lurking around Sophie Martin. After one night of passion with Sophie, Darius expected to never see her again...but what's he supposed to do when his plan to stay away to keep her safe has officially been deemed an epic fail? Read and find out!

SMOLDERING HUNGER PARTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4 REVIEW..

Whew! The first chapter sure could cause a girl to sweat. That was truly intense, for a dream. BUT, what can you expect if you’re dreaming of a Dragon King.

And, geez, that Ulrik is soooo annoying. You really don’t know if he’s good or bad and now he’s got his eye on Sophie. I know it would have ruined the series but I wish Darius would have killed him outside the hospital. He makes me so mad! I wish I knew if I should really hate him or not.

Smoldering hunger part 2

I think I’ve pretty much decided to hate Ulrik, once he said Darius could watch another woman he loved die. BUT in the meantime, Darius and Sophie are having some crazy-hot sex, and becoming closer every day. And, I’m beginning to wonder if Rhi will ever wake up. Geez, she’s been “asleep” for 3 weeks. She does “surface” occasionally, to listen to what’s going on around her but refuses to wake all the way up and face her problems. Oh, and it was nice seeing Phelan again, of the Dark Warriors series. I love when people from other series’ come to visit.

So, Rhi woke up but now she’s one big question mark. Is she going to remain a Light Fae or is she going all dark?

Smoldering Hunger part 3

The Reapers are still watching Rhi, and I sure wish I knew why. Daire and Cael just talk and talk and say nothing helpful. Although, it’s a terrible name, Reapers, I still like them a lot and I can’t wait for their next book.

LOL.. Darius is having a hard time seeing Sophie as his mate, since he already thinks he’s had one. But between the hot sex and his protectiveness it’s obvious to everyone but him, especially to Con, Rhys and Kiril.

I was very disappointed in Sophie’s deep, dark secret? I mean, I thought it would too horrible for words, like Scott, the ex-fiancé, turned out to be a serial killer or something. But, no, that was not the case. It was really kind of silly, if you ask me, after all the buildup.

Smoldering Hunger part 4

This book begins with Rhi and I gotta tell ya’ I sure hope she doesn’t go with Balladyn. She’s more forgiving than I ‘am. If he had tortured me for so long I could NEVER forgive him. I’d want him dead. Why on earth is she even speaking to the jerk, that’s what I want to know?

And, of course, what happened to Sophie is exactly what we knew would happen. Absolutely NO surprise there.

At 42% of this 4th book the conversation between Con, Darius, Kiril and Rhys tried to make you believe that Ulrik was going to be killed or captured tonight but we all know that that was NOT going to happen. And for pet’s sake WTH is the “weapon?” Although, with that battle in the clearing and dragons kicking some ass, there really was no use in having a “weapon.”

You can call me shallow but one of the reasons I love Ms. Grants book, other than them being soooo exciting, is that all her dragons and their mates are beautiful. Readers who want to read about heroines that are plump, plain, unattractive, BBW, whatever, are looking for REAL life. Well, I don’t want REAL life when I read. So, I’ll stick to the beautiful heroines and drop-dead gorgeous heroes every day.

It’s been two weeks since Dr. Sophia Martin had seen Darius. Two weeks since he brought her body to life and made her realize how lonely she was. When he suddenly reappears and seduces her again and yet again disappears, she's determined to keep her walls up. When a mysterious man named Ulrik does up at the hospital wanting to propose a job opportunity to her, she immediately recognizes him as someone to stay away from, but someone also one who has experienced similar pain.

I loved being brought back into Donna Grant’s world of the Dragon Kings and after meeting Darius and Sophia in the previous books, I was happy to start this set. As with the author’s other books, this one pulls you right in as we experience what Sophia is going through after having experienced a few hours with Darius. For her, it’s an emotional rollercoaster of sorts as she isn’t the type to let anyone close. We also get a peek at what happened to Rhi and other characters whose world is evolving. I highly recommend.

Darius is still in Edinburgh hunting the dark that still roam the city but they are becoming more sparse as the days pasd. someone is hunting them too but remains in the shadows.

Sophie hasn't seen Darius in two weeks since their encounter outside the hospital. she hasn't trusted anyone in years and he's snuck in.

He knows he had to stay away but not only is his attraction to her making it worse to stay away but Ulrik has made his interest in Sophie known. He has to do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

This book is part one of the new book in the Dark King series - Smouldering Hunger. I have loved all of the books I've read in the series so far so was really looking forward to this one - and I certainly wasn't disappointed. This books takes off exactly where the previous one left but can also be read as a stand alone. In this instalment we get to know more about Darius and his dark past. Can't wait to start part 2!!

I have read each one of the installments in this series and I have loved them all. This one did not disappoint. This one takes off where the last one ended. In this one we learn more about Darius' past and what motivates him. I can't wait to get into the next one to see where this will all go.
