Bernadette is a mother of beautiful Annabeth, only six months old. She worked two jobs and went to night school trying to turn around the life she had nearly ruined through teenage rebellion. But life is hard for a young single mother determined to give her child more than what she could on a minimum wage for the rest of her life. To give her daughter the best she needed, an education for herself to get better jobs so she could secure that future.

Her kind neighbour, Molly, tells her that her church has an aid program for unwed mothers. But Bernadette doesn’t want charity; neither does she want to seek help from God who she believes abandoned her when she needed him the most. But Annabeth comes first, so she goes to meet the pastor who assigns her a mentor.

He is tall, handsome and kind, and does love Annabeth – Bernadette has to admit that. What will it take for the unlikely couple to admit that they had been brought together because they were meant to be together? Can Bernadette swallow her pride and listen to her heart to do what’s best, both for herself and for Annabeth?

A very sweet read.

This is a quick story from Anne Elliot Moore. This story is sweet and will leave you with a warm tingling feeling. This is a very clean story that shows God's love.

I enjoyed Addy's story and am really excited that she got the happy ending that she deserved. I just wish that we could have gotten more of a glimpse into her budding relationships with both the Lord and Sam.

I recommend this story and look forward to reading more from this author.
