Short Story Romance
The author packed way to much information into this tale for it to be a true Short Story. She begins with a preface to feed the reader even more background information without writing it into the story. In spite of all that, the main characters are not filled out very well. The plot line is interesting, but not realistic. The emotions and reactions also seem totally unrealistic. There are a couple of glaring editing errors that are irritating. There is nothing in this story that would make me want to read the rest of the series. I might, however, try to read another work from this author. I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.

This is a short, sweet, heartwarming romance, the first in the Love Always series, but it can also be read as a standalone. Three childhood friends vowed to be wed by the time they were 25. Time is fast approaching. Can they find their true loves? Together they own Rosebud, a flower shop in Lakefield, Maine.

Zoe Goodwin, Ariana Black, and Katie Dunn own Rosebud and are getting prepared for opening day. Ariana had been living in New York as a model until she came back home and went into business with them. What happened while she was in New York? Later that evening at the grand opening party, Phil confronts her about leaving him. Why did Ariana come back home and why is she running from Phil?

Katie is engaged to Jake Patterson. She has a bad feeling about Dan, Zoe's boyfriend. Is Jake who she is intended to marry?

Zoe is dating Dan Stevens. Why don't her friends like him? Zoe has decided not to move in with Dan until marriage, but he presses the issue, even giving her a key to his place. What happens when she uses the key to thank him for referring their flower business to his friends which increases their sales?

After getting to know these characters, I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens. Even after reading this story, I caught myself thinking about the characters, wondering what was going to happen. Definitely a series I will be reading over and over!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Three childhood friends have joined together to open Rosebud, a floral shop in their hometown. They've been busy trying to get ready for their opening. Katie is engaged & trying to plan her wedding to Jake at the same time they are trying to get the business up & running. Zoe is dating Dan & while she thinks she's ready to get married, Dan just wants her to move in with him. Ariana was a top model in New York but something happened to make her run back home. Katie has a feeling something bad is about to happen. Will their shop succeed? Why did Ariana run home?

I really enjoyed this quick look into the lives of the 3 friends. They seem like the types of friends you'd have in high school & stay close to. This book set the scene for the 4 remaining books. Raine's narrative is very descriptive & entertaining. I felt like I was right in the middle of Rosebud at the opening. I can't wait to read Book 2!!

Chasing Happiness is the first story in the Love Always Series. Raine English has penned a short and sweet story that left me eager for more!

Chasing Happiness is the first installment of the Love Always Series. I thought this book was quite delightful. It is only a little over 60 pages long and it took me no time to read it. I look forward to more by this author.

Zoe, Katie and Ariana made a pact when they were younger to be married by the age of twenty-five. As their birthdays draw closer, it appears some may fulfill the pact and others won't. The three friends have just opened a flower shop together, and no matter what happens, they'll see each other through.

I really liked all three of the women. I look forward to seeing them all find love, but it doesn't happen in this book. The description says that this can be read as a stand-alone, but if you want to see the friends get their HEAs, you'll have to read the rest of the series. I felt like this book set up their stories and showed the strength of their friendship. It was more like a prequel.
