A Deviant Time: A Black Fantasy

Rate this book
A teleporter can escape from anything, except her own problems.

The bunker in California was meant to be a safe haven, but to Time Bandit (AKA Kathryn Henderson), it's a prison. She dreams of getting a place on the beach where she and Charge could live in peace. But when tragedy strikes the deviant community and the blame falls on them, her dreams are shattered.

Mario Russo and Javier Diaz from the New York branch of The Underground Deviant Network are investigating the disappearances of deviants from all over the country. Angela Martone, a powerful telepath, is building an army. With a deviant like Time Bandit on her side, she'd be unstoppable.

With Time Bandit in hiding, who will find her first? Can Javier convince her to stay away from Angela, or will she join the deviant's army? Whatever she chooses, Time Bandit’s time is finally running out.

Deviant Time (Book 2) Review

Kathryn is no longer simply discovering what she can do—she’s confronting who she is becoming. In this installment, the expanding powers, growing cast, and constant movement all serve a more personal story: Kathryn/Time Bandit’s maturation. Maturation is the central theme of this book, as she and the rest of the crew become more self-aware, embrace personal growth, and engage in genuine introspection.

The entire crew continues to evolve into a cohesive unit, but Kathryn’s transformation is especially compelling to witness. As her powers expand, she becomes more fully Time Bandit than Kathryn, making her journey all the more fascinating. It’s almost as if Time Bandit and Kathryn are two identities within one person, and I’m eager to see how that relationship continues to develop. With additional characters entering the mix, the question becomes: Are they allies, or are they new threats? I’m looking forward to finding out.

Spice 🌶️: The sexual exploration continues, including bisexuality and multiple partners, but it takes a less prominent role in this installment. Instead, the focus shifts toward deeper attractions, emotional connections, and explorations of love. The sexual content isn’t overly graphic; it feels more grounded in the relationships and the connections developing between the characters.

Thank you to the author for providing this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’m hooked! I want to continue exploring both sides of this character: Time Bandit and Kathryn. Their evolving relationship with themselves, their powers, and the people around them has me invested in seeing where this journey leads next.

I received a complimentary ARC directly from the author for review consideration. This review reflects my honest opinions, and I received no compensation or incentives beyond the opportunity to read the book early.

Time Bandit, Charge, Susan and Jonathan are back ❤️🫶🏽 Elisabeth delivered a wonderfully emotionally packed and roller coaster ride second book to the series!! I am in awe of her ability to capture emotions and moments so well and have me feeling everything and visually picturing everything I read. Time Bandit was struggling with living life in the bunker and we journeyed through her and the others POV and their adaptations to cabin fever , experiencing being broke, starving, emotionally exhausted, overstimulated, grief, sadness and more. Elisabeth’s writing guided us through out their stories and how deviants were being murdered left and right and somehow a connection and a message was getting through. We also get to see Time Bandit evolve while it seems like in multiple ways, as a deviant with her powers, as an individual in her close family circle and mindset for going forward. Elisabeth Roseland kept us hot and spicy 🥵🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ throughout the whole book when it was just right never overkill and I love that. Then we see how someone’s love for that could be used to disadvantage 😭😩🤯 the plot twist of the century had me ready to throw my kindle scribe and Y’all know how expensive they are 😩😩😭😭…im beyond excited for book 3 coming in January. This is a must read series and I hope Y’all enjoy it just as much as me 🥰🫶🏽💕oh and ummmm Fck Angela its forever up and stuck 🤬😤😎

I liked this book book even more than the first one . It continued to keep me on my toes as she navigates her growing problem and being hunted and also her friends and loneliness. The story is about a women who has powers and is trying to cope with her ever growing powers. She went from being helped to being depended on and .. honestly I would want to get away too. Sometimes i dislike characters who are withdrawn and difficult but it was done very well and i understand her need to escape . I also am curious about the new characters and if they are truly the good guys or do they just believe they are ,because sometimes those are the most dangerous people ....There is also addiction , spice and death in this book btw..

I throughly enjoyed this book! It started right where book one left off. If your looking for fantasy book where you feel represented this is for you. I loved how you felt with mental health. THANK YOU ELISABETH I FELT SEEN. I too struggle with mental health. I felt that Time Bandit would feel cluster phobic. The plot and twist I LOVED IT ALL! And the cliff hanger PERFECT!
