The book is beautifully written and absolutely worth devouring! Every emotion imaginable is there. It’s hot, sexy, fun, sad, frustrating, made me smile, cry like an idiot. It’s the perfect balance of romance, charm, and sexy intrigue.

Chandler is one of my favorite heroines. She is confident, sexy and comfortable in her own skin. She’s a talented young musician and one of her auditions gives her the ticket to play live with the rock band Assured Distraction and make her touring debut with them.

All guys in the band are super adorable but Keeton is HOT! The romance that flourishes between Chandler and Keeton is swoon-worthy. But, Chandler’s life will drastically change and leave her alone and desperate. Secrets from the past will reveal hidden truths and turn her world upside down.

I also have nothing but praises for the narration and pacing. I did feel that the story was a bit drawn out somewhere in the middle and that we could have done without a few scenes, but all in all, I was still so addicted to the writing that I just kept on turning one page after the other. I was not disappointed. It was a great story, moving with a ton of drama thrown in for good measure.

This is my first time reading this author so going into it you are never sure what you are going to get and I have to say that Ms. Finn did a great job at making me actually “feel” what her characters felt. She took through some pretty emotional stuff that tugged on the old heart strings but yet wrote some pretty steamy scenes for Keeton and Chandler.

Chandler was very endearing and came from a very influential political family in Austin, Texas and finally broke away from her overbearing, overprotective parents when she went to Julliard’s in New York City. She never got to have a “normal” life and didn’t really understand all she was missing or maybe she did and that’s why she buried herself so deeply in her music. Chandler was a music prodigy who could play anything with strings but what got her a crazy gig was her skills on the keyboard. She had just finished school and have moved back to Austin when she had a chance to try out for Assured Distraction who was short a keyboard player and they were leaving on a two month tour in just a couple of days. The guys were shocked at how she was able to play and gave her chance to tour with them. The only stipulation was that she was going to have to change her appearance before they hit the stage. Her matronly look had to go and she had to change it up with leather bustiers and fuck me heels.

Keeton was known as the tinman because he could go through woman like crazy and never get attached. His only goal was to make his band hit the big times and he sure wasn’t going to get weighted down with some woman like his bandmate Ryan did. He was out to sample everything this rock life could give him. That was until he met Chandler. Keeton knew that having any kind of relationship with Chandler could be the downfall of his band. He had to make a decision if Chandler was worth this gamble. When Chandler had a life changing event that happened while she was on tour with the guys Keeton didn’t leave her side after that and knew that this thing between them was worth it. Their story was so encompassing. I loved getting to know them throughout their whole relationship both professionally and personally. There were the times that tears welled up in your eyes, there were some laugh out loud times, and then there were times that gave you that panty melting feeling.

What was that big thing was that changed Chandler’s life for good and was Keeton actually able to resist all of the groupies that would do anything for him just to say that were with a rock star? Was there some underlying circumstances that explained why Chandler, even though was trained for classical music, had a pull for the rock music that pour out of her? Their journey was one I was glad I got to go on and now I want to read more about the other band members from Assured Distraction. Gunner and Carter seemed to be the typical idea you would have for rock stars who are just on the cusp of making it big and they are into sampling whatever is thrown their way…why have 1 groupie when you can have two or more at a time. The other band member was Ryan and he seemed to more responsible acting in this group probably because he was in a serious relationship with his girlfriend, Krissy. Ryan was the catalyst that put Keeton on the straight and narrow when it came to Chandler. There is a lot more to these boys and I need to know what it is. So keep those books coming Ms. Finn.

This Rocker Romance is a nice twist on 'boy meets girl'.... and the turbulence that ensues. It's suspenseful, intense, a LOT OF HOT, and OH, THE FEELS! And it even has some humor too! It's got some of everything I love in a story. I can't wait for the next book!

SPOILER ALERT***************************************SPOILER ALERT******************************************

Chandler, newly graduated from a prestigious music school, returns home to Austin, Texas, in pursuit of her secret dream of playing live rock music with a band. She meets the very charming and amorous musicians of Assured Distraction during an audition for a temporary position, and that's when her rollercoaster ride begins.

She's caught the attention of the oh-so-sexy and oh-so-fickle lead singer, and his hot-and-cold game with her soon has burned her more than once before she finally learns to shut him out entirely and maintain a safe distance for the remainder of the very long two-month bus tour they're about to embark on.

Then her world is unexpectedly turned upside-down by news from home, and she has to leave the tour to face more unexpected realities than she could ever have prepared for. When the rest of the band return to Austin to check on her they find her in ruins and they work together to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and the broken temporary musician who has quickly become part of their band-family. That's when the commitment-phobic lead singer begins to realize that she's not just another hot groupie for roadside romp; she might just be the one to break down his walls. When they both finally give in to the distracting chemistry between them, they have combustion!

When Chandler goes in search for answers about her family, with the support and love of her new music family, she uncovers devastating truths about her own history and has a chance to confront it head on. The results are devastating and she finds herself alone on the road, utterly heartbroken, and grasping at the last straws she has at making peace with what is left of her shattered family.

Will she ever be able to piece together the remnants of her life and her heart? Will she ever be able to recapture the love and dreams she's lost? Like the synopsis says, "Not just a life-on-the-bus story, but a story about living messy lives in the real world." I thoroughly enjoyed this ride!

I was kindly given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I can honestly say that I did not know what to expect when I picked up Assure Her and was pleasantly surprised. Thia Finn spun a story of loneliness, heartbreak, camaraderie, inner strength, and of course lots of hot, hot scenes. She did a great job at depicting the rock star's life of groupies, threesomes, even voyeurism without being too graphic. She allowed the reader to see the heart and soul of these characters and their lifestyle. I fell in love with the four outrageously sexy, kind, and funny men that make the band Assured Distraction, right along with the female character, Chandler. They wooed me with their ripped bodies, cocky attitudes, kind and caring gestures, and their sense of humor. I quickly fell under their rock star spell and couldn't wait to read the rest of Chandler and Keeton's whirlwind, turbulent love story. They went through so much in such a short amount of time and totally won me over with their ability to rock out with the band and rock each other's world also.

When Chandler Chatam decided to audition with Assured Distraction with her buttoned up appearance, little did she know how much her world would change in such a little amount of time. Being in close quarters with these up and coming gorgeous band members was both exhilarating and intimidating, but she was going to give them her all and show them her amazing talent. Things start heating up between her and Keeton before the tour even began and he often leaves her aroused and confused as how to deal with this rock god in her wide eyed innocence. Chandler had been sheltered all of her life by her prominent family. When tragedy strikes Chandler realizes that Keeton and Assure Distraction care for her and have become family to her. Chandler's strength and beauty shines throughout this story and is cause for admiration. Her character let's us know that no matter what happens we are strong enough to pick up and go on and to not take for granted the people that are there for you.

Keeton Macdonald or KeeMac as the band calls him is intrigued with the beautiful, shy, conservative Chandler from the moment her fingers move across the keys on the keyboard. She is a puzzle that he wouldn't mind solving but he also knows that they are world's apart and is not sure how she will fit into his on the road, partying till you drop life. He needs to totally focus on his music and career yet he cannot stay away from her. After mistakes are made and Chandler is left devastated from one phone call, he realizes that he has to capture her heart and body and will do anything to bring back her joy and make her sadness disappear. Keeton was a source of frustration for me at first until he seduced me with his kind heart later in the story. He could still be a bit on the domineering side with Chandler but his heart was always in the right place.

Thia Finn shows us the glitz and glam of the rock star life along with the less than glamorous side of being on the road with the band and rising to stardom. I highly recommend for an emotional, funny and steamy read. I myself cannot wait to read Ryan's story in His Distraction and be on tour with the entertaining Assured Distraction in their road to fame.

Assure Her, Thia Finn's debut novel, is the first book in her Assured Distraction series. I loved this book. The story revolves around the rock band from Austin, TX and their first big break to tour with a mega band. The band's first problem is they have to hire a new keyboard player. In comes a recent Juilliard graduate, Chandler Chatam. She's young and naive to the ways of a rock band or a tour but she quickly learns that these guys are all about the music and the groupies that surround a tour.
Chandler's life falls apart with a sudden death in her family and she's forced to make some life changes in a hurry which lead to a relationship with the lead singer, Keeton.
Keeton MacDonald realizes from the beginning that Chandler being on the bus is going to be a problem. The only girls he and the band want are the groupies who follow them. This creates a problem when he and Chandler spend time together before the bus ever leaves. Sparks fly between them and it's game on in the bedroom on the bus.
The band members are fun, hot and ready to live the life. The relationship between Keeton and Chandler will not leave you hanging!
I gave this book 5 stars because I loved the entire story. The characters are real and well developed. The plot is not just guys on the band bus having their way with groupies. Since I live in the Austin area, I loved the references to all the fun places.
Give this new author a try. You'll be glad you did.

3.5 stars for me. It was enjoyable, an interesting storyline and likeable characters. But there was so many typo's and grammar mistakes that it was annoyingly frustrating. Plus it skimmed over parts I would've liked to know more about, yet went in depth over parts that wasn't necessary.

This needed to be longer. Couldn't put down right from the start. This is now my favorite rock story ever. I won this book and couldn't wait to read and it had it all drama, love, so many emotions and loved Chandler. I just didn't want it to end. But book 2 is coming soon and I can't wait.

A Virtuoso!

I would never have chosen this book had I known the “heroine” was only 21...and I would have missed out on an utterly FANTASTIC story!

Chandler Chatam has lead a pampered…and sheltered life. She’s finished school and is returning to her hometown of Austin, Texas determined to live HER life on HER own terms. First up – getting her own place. Next, auditioning for a temporary spot with a rock band, Assured Distraction.

WHAT? Young, naïve Chandler?

Believe it! She is nervous and a bit leery, but she wins the position…and goes on the road with the band! I loved how the author allowed Chandler’s inexperience to help, instead of hinder her. She makes a misstep here and there, but who doesn’t? What I also loved is how she kept moving forward. She is judged on her appearance and for being the newbie, but time and time again, she allows the confidence that has brought her this far to break out and guide her. She stands up for herself and slowly becomes ‘a member of the band.’

Of course, the band takes notice. Especially Keeton “KeeMac” MacDonald, lead vocals and lead guitar of the group. He’s intrigued by Chandler and wants to get to know her better…but enough to change his one and done manwhorish ways? I loved Keeton! Not only was Chandler a mystery to him – he was a mystery to himself! The Tinman – whatever! LOL! His internal thoughts and self-revelations were so honest! Even with the asshat move he pulled at an after party. He was perfectly flawed, and did not try to hide it or make excuses. And that goes for all the characters in this story. Bandmates Ryan, Carter, Gunner, band manager Cash, PA Peri, and even Ryan’s girlfriend, Krissy. Okay, Krissy was a bit annoying, but not over the top. LOL!

But, it’s Chandler’s story and she endures. She experiences more love, heartbreak, tragedy and then more heartbreak in two months than most people do their entire lives. But not once does Chandler refuse to deal with the situation. I loved her strength! Calling this young woman sassy or feisty would be an insult. Chandler had balls!

There are steamy hot sex scenes, but they are SO much a part of the full story, even the skanky groupie scene. (Did I just type that? LOL!) There are a few minor typos, but they do not hinder the story’s flow.

The story is intense, and the story within the story is even more intense, but it is so well written! I was given a copy of “Assure Her” in exchange for an honest review, but by 47% into the story, I went to Amazon and purchased it! Ryan’s (and Krissy…oh gawd – do not miss the excerpt in the back of the book) story is up next in book two, and I cannot wait!

Enjoy!

I thought this book was a great first novel. Were there some grammatical and formatting errors? Sure. However, I understand shit happens and it's hard when you're self editing a book. I've read tons of stories that had an editor that were way worse than this. I don't think the mistakes took too much away from the story. On the errors I found, I could deduct what was meant without any issues.

I loved these characters. Overall, I'd say this is a great story. The characters were funny, with the perfect amount of banter. Chandler wasn't a pushover and Keeton wasn't an asshole.

I always enjoy a book more when it's more about the progression of the story and development of the characters and relationships. To me, I don't need constant sex scenes for me to grasp a connection that seems to be more lust. I think Thia did an excellent job of telling the story without spending too much time describing their sexual encounters.

I'm excited to read more about the band and to see the author grow as a writer.

3.75 stars. I picked this one up out of the blue since I was in the mood for a rocker book. As I read, I wasn't sure of my choice as the first 45% or so was really slow. The story was definitely interesting so I stuck with it and crossed my fingers! The heroine, Chandler is a Julliard graduate brought up in a proper, boring household where everything was decided for her. She has a love of music and it extremely talented. She graduates and moves back to Austin to try her hand in the music industry. That takes her to a try out for an up and coming local band called Assured Distraction which is where she meets Keeton Macdonald/KeeMac. The band is a great group of guys and the journey they all take was interesting and fun. I really enjoyed it from the halfway point and couldn't put it down. I feel like the writing was a bit disjointed but the story made up for it. I would definitely be interested in the second book which is Ryan's story.

This one started a little slow for me and got me very confused at the beginning but I got really intrigued to see were the story was going so I keep going and I'm glad I did because then everything made sense. Loved KeeMac & Chandler actually all the band members. I'm exited to read more of them and can't wait to see Gunner fall hard on his knees.
My heart is still hurting for Ryder. I hope Thia write him a HEA, one because I'm super intrigued about him and two because he deserves it.

Not my normal genre, but I absolutely fell in love with the main character early on and became friends with the rest of the band as the story developed. The characters were well developed throughout the story, just as one would get to know them in real life. The storyline was well paced and flowed smoothly, while each chapter left you wanting to know what happens next, making it difficult to put the book down at times. I was drawn in from the beginning and was enthralled to the end. Okay... I'm ready for book #2... Braaaaaang it, Thia!!!

Loved it

First book I have read of Thia Finn and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I could not put the book down. Chandler and Keeton story was great from the start. Chandler was a Julliard student who took a job with the upcoming Rock band AD for a temporary 8 weeks. Chandler is so sweet and innocent and she is thrown into the Rock star lifestyle. This is a must read in my opinion

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review**

I have only read a handful of rock-star romance. Mainly because some of them seem boring to me, I mean what can be exciting about reading guys traveling in a tour bus. With the temptations of sex, drugs, and women that are easier than your two dollar hooker. If I am going to read a book that has rock-stars in it. I might need a little more in the plot.

Thankfully this book is not all about the life in the lime light. Really its about the main characters having to go through difficult times. In this case our main character Chan, (calling her that for short.) Was only with the band for a short time before her world get turned upside down. But with the help of the fellow band members, she learns to manager her life again and get it right-side up.

I loved Chan and KeeMac’s story, even though the guy can be dumber than a rock at times. Good thing he has Chan to make up for his lack of brains. Yes this book has plenty of stage time, band member having different women nightly, sex, but no drugs yet.

So if you like rock-star romances, this might be a book you want to check out. Plus it looks like it is free for the kindle. I don’t know how long that will last though. I will be reading and reviewing the other two books in this series, back-to-back actually. So you will not have to wait long to see that I have to say for the rest of the books.

Review of Assure Her by Thia Finn .
**** 4 Stars ****
This review is written on behalf of BOOKWHORE ADDICT.

Book 1 in the Assured Distraction Series.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but the blurb intrigued me.

Sheltered girl - Chandler Chatam meets red hot sex God rock star, Keeton MacDonald while filling in as keyboardist for the Rock Band - Assured Distraction, on their tour.

From the very start, the prologue had me emotionally engaged with the story and this book delivered on every level. I felt every emotion that the characters felt, lived every situation with them, endured every drama and laughed, cried and fanned myself at the sexual chemistry between Chandler and KeeMac.

Supporting characters, including the band members of Assured Distraction certainly created a fantastic distraction and gave great balance to a wonderfully crafted story, one I would definitely recommend to any rock band romance lover.

The exploration of the bands life on tour, with all its difficulties, groupie dramas and unexpected pleasures left me looking forward to reading the second book in the series - His Distraction.

Thank heavens it's loaded and ready to go on my Kindle. ... Excuse me now, I've got another great Thia Finn book to read.

Go now and get your copy of this book, you won't regret reading it!

read and reviewed for 2 Girls Who Love Books

okay so confession time!! this review is late. I hate writing bad reviews and so I put them off and in my crazy state of mind I forgot to write the amazing review that Assure Her deserves. On the plus side in order to write this review now I had to take a look over the book again! yes I got to read it twice!!

From my knowledge this is Thia Finn's debut novel and she rocked it! Her characters are amazingly developed and it was impossible not to fall in love with them.
Chandler is our 21 year old heroine. She is sassy and feisty with tons of guts. She has finished school where she let no one and nothing get in her way. Her only companion through out her 4 years at Julliard was her piano. Now she is out to make her way in life. When she auditions for a temporary spot in the rock band Assured Distraction she does it with her eyes closed! and when she opened them the 3 band members of AD left her drooling.

From that point on so much ensues. laughter, love and heartache. Chandler handles herself well among the guys and the parties.

our male lead is KeeMac and he is an intense type of guy. I love his inner voice when he thinks. it give us a good insight.

I look forward to reading the continuing story of the band !! 4 amazing stars.......and oh the bedroom on the bus lol

I wasn't sure what to expect when i started reading this book as i haven't had the chance to read any of Thia's work, but i have to say... It has been a pleasure to read!!!
Without spoilers...
Assured Distraction are preparing for a 2 month tour, supporting Frission... But they have a problem... Their keyboard player has Hep A and can't go... They have a few days to find a replacement!!!
Chandler has spent 4 years at Julliard and is a somewhat musical prodigy. When she auditions, she has the whole band gob smacked and entranced... Especially KeeMac!!!
All is going well, until tragedy strikes!!!... What will happen? Will the band survive the tour? Can they pull through? I refuse to state what happens but there are a few twists and turns that will drag you into the story and have you not wanting to stop and put the book down!!! (I was up until 3am)
A brilliant story, and the flow was spot on... The characters... Well i absolutely fell in love with each and every one of them, but i do have a special place for KeeMac!!! (and i know you will too) I really can't wait to get started on the next in series and i know it's going to just as fantastic as this book was!!!

KeeMac is a man whore. He's not ready to settle down and wants to take full advantage of the women while he is on tour. But the band needs a keyboard player and they are shocked by who they find.
Chandler has always loved music. It's in her soul. Now that she is done with college she's ready to move forward in her music career but something a little more modern. She wants her time on stage. But is she ready for the playboys of Assured Distraction when she is offered to play with them for 2 months?

This story is great. Polar opposites besides their love for music has them struggling to find balance. KeeMac was irritating. He was constantly hot and cold but I loved how Chandler knew what she wanted and didn't take his crap. The drama and twist in this story was unexpected but exciting. And the description of sex was hot!! I loved KeeMac and Chandlers story.

BookWhores review

All in all its a great story. I liked how the characters each have their own personality. And adding a female musician to a an all boy rock group is an awesome way to make the story more unique. I've only read one more book that had mixed members.
I'm an all out rock/heavy metal fan so it adds something to a story when the group sings your kind of music.
Basically it's a no brainier. Go read it. I recommend it. And the only thing I didn't love about this book is The story is told in first and third person. It can get a little confusing when you suddenly have all these other characters opinions and views in the sentences

Example
We go from the introduction to keemac then back to chandler again.

This was one emotional book. Chandler life was on the fast track until it all came crumbling down. One call, one letter, one rejection, one revelation. KeeMac was there, feeling like an ass because clearly those were his actions. One pep talk, one sad look, one cold shoulder, one gut wrenching moment. Yes it was that deep and that fast. A family bond like no other pulled together a broken soul in search for fame and a family that was hidden. One lie, one escape, on loss. Ryder..... The man with the answers and Chan the girl with the questions. KeeMac.... the tinman who found his heart and wore it on his sleeve from that moment forward.

This book has it all KeeMac, the leading front man for the up and coming band Assured Distraction and Chandler the girl with so many talents that she gets her shot to play as well. The roller coaster of a ride that Chan is taken on is unbelievable, there were times I was brought to tears from her journey and other times had the biggest smile on my face. We get to see a bit of the whole band and their touring experience which is also nice to see, get their point of view on what happens after the shows over and in between the next stop they play. Keeton will just melt your heart and you will fall in love with him just like I did and you will totally become a FanGirl of AD in no time.

What a great read! Loved the rock star theme & bands!! It was a great could be true to life book. Has some sad parts but some really HOT scenes too with hot as hell sexy rock stars. I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book with both bands!! I will definitely be going to purchase book two & can't wait for book three to come out.

Thank you for gifting me this book in exchange for an honest review!

I love Chandler.

I love this storyline. A nice twist is always appreciated. Wouldn't it be a hoot if Lainey was in a coma from the wreck !!? That being said , a second book on Keemac and Chan would be great!Thia Finn will stay on my keeper shelf and I will 1 click her every time I see her work.

I received this book for an honest review from the author. I am reviewing this as part of the review team at Bookwhore Addicts.
This book had me so caught up in the read that I tuned the rest of the human world out to focus on KeeMac and Chan.
I can't wait to see more of the AD boys fall. Definitely worth the read.

the story was OK. characters were OK. there were quite a lot of typos . that would make me have to reread the sentence as though the author was not sure which word she wanted to use, put both, but then never chose one. so it kind of just killed it for me.

This book will have your emotions all over the place. At one point I wanted to throw my kindle because I was THAT mad! Knowing all too well what it feels like to be someone you are not because that is what was expected hit home for me. Can't wait to see what else is to come!
