Although I enjoyed reading this book, in all fairness, I do have to say that it was not without some issues. As previously mentioned before, I get annoyed when a book with 5 star potential goes off on a squirelly sightseeing journey with unnecessary lag, and stale monochromatic dialogue.
I don't know who edited this book, but they should have at least done their job by helping the author out with producing a decent epilogue, because this book ended way too quickly with an ending that was way too jumbled for words.
Note to the Author and the Publisher: Readers need to know that the crazy nut of a homewrecker/psycho chica, actually gets slung underneath the friggin jail for x amount of years. Yes, we need to know these things.
Other than this book being 65% full of goodness, I was happy to know that it was free via Kindle Unlimited.
A very sweet romantic read featuring Shan and her very devoted and attentive Abdullah. This is the second installment from Ms Violet and I look forward to reading all of her future stories. You won't be disappointed.
What can I say, b yup t it was nice. It kinda had vibes of Fatal Attraction. Abdullah was a prince of a gentleman. The main character was a bit clueless at times, but overall it was nice.
I loved me some Abood he was the perfect man any woman would want. Shan and his budding relationship was wonderful. This book is a great and satisfying read.
What I liked about this book was the feeling I got a realistic glimpse into the life of an expat in Oman. Combined with a glimpse of -also foreign for me - Afro-American culture (locks treatment, food). The lovestory also sounded real although the writer spiced it up with crazy Carmen. I even borrowed a quote for my legal blog about the trouble with visa.
I found this book to be very well written. I enjoyed visiting with Lari and Sultan from "Laid over in Dubai", as well as all questions being answered. I am looking forward to other books by Marian Violet.
True love never leaves. True love endures erected walls. True love heals all wounds. Take a journey with Abood and Shan and discover that faith and persistence crumbles all self doubt and the end results in .......
What a rare treat it is to read a book in my favorite genre that is also set in my stomping grounds! This one even had an exciting little mystery entwined. I enjoyed this book very much. Much more than the first book in the series. I’ll be waiting patiently for the next installment of this series.
Another great read from Miss Violet. I loved Laid over in Dubaï and was really happy to read Shan and Aboods story. LOVED the chemistry and play between these two!! Once again Miss Violet knows how to write scenes that make you fan yourself and curl your toes: Hottt! The background story / drama in Longview was quite a twist on things, very different from LOD but added layers to the story. Her exploration of the Omani culture was rich and infotaining. Shans' sassiness and Aboods smooth sexy wisdom made for great conversations too. Took me on a mental holiday!! Cant wait for the next book!! Until then will be reading it again :)
I read this book, because the first one was good and I wanted to know the rest of the thoroughly enjoyed the second book as well. I like the love story of two people learning of each others cultures and doing new things together.
I also like how the author showed the way some people deal with a heartbreak and things turn out positive, although they had to deal with certain obstacles in life along the way.
This was a great book. I loved all the twists and turns, but think Carmen should have gotten a bullet through the head. Her actions were those of a true nut case.
