The Empty is one of my favorite Thom Reese books. The concept of the reyaqc, their interactions with humans, and the way the story is told really stuck with me. I like the supernatural mixed with realism and the way Reese makes it both fantastic and believable.

I will be finishing it today. I can tell you it is great, love the premise and the prose is smooth. Great characters . I enjoyed the way you used the historical angle, that made it plausible . Fast paced, intriguing. I couldn't wait to turn the pages. You gave the reyaqc a history and possibly a future. I highly recommend this book.
