Rate this book
Now in an exclusive ebook edition comes Winter’s Night, two previously published fantastic Christmas stories, now in a 2-in-1, with A Dark-Hunter Christmas and Santa Wears Spurs, from #1 New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon. From demons to cowboys, from werewolves to mistletoe, this 2-in-1 will keep you warm during cold December nights. Set in Kenyon's imaginative world, A Dark-Hunter Christmas shows Gallagher, in New Orleans, at Christmastime, without his family. Missing the ones he loves is a powerful force, and threatens to cast a pall over the Big Easy's Christmas cheer. But Simi has a few tricks up her sleeve, intent to show him that even though he is apart from his loved ones, he still has people to lean on... In Santa Wears Spurs, the wanted outlaw O'Connell was forced years ago to abandon his spitfire of a woman-his wife, Catherine-before his enemies hurt her to get to him. Now he's ready to turn himself in to the authorities, but not before he does one last good deed. A deed that miraculously sends him head-to-head with Catherine who wants a bigger piece of his hide than his enemies do. But with his dangerous brother hot on his tail to end him, he has to protect Catherine at all costs. Something that would be a lot easier to do if she could forgive him for screwing up her life and leaving her. It will take a little miracle and a whole lot of Christmas magic to put his enemies behind him and allow him to win back his own good name and a heart he should never have abandoned.

4 stars for "Santa wears spurs"

This is a totally irrelevant story to the Dark Hunter series, but it is still a sweet, heartwarming Christmas love story which takes place during Christmas time in old wild Texas.

All I want for Christmas is a man as handsome as the Devil himself.

Catherine had already found someone a few years ago. Then, he abandoned her and her unborn child and she never saw him again. Until this year. Michael is back, wanted by the law and he doesn't know that he has a daughter. He still loves Catherine, but he is bad news.

4 stars for "A Dark-Hunter Christmas"

James Cameron Patric Gallagher (currently Dark Hunter, previously gangster)

A quick heartwarming Christmas theme story about a young Dark Hunter (about 100 years old) who really needs to be part of a family.
Gallagher, although he was a feared gangster, was also a beloved husband. Unfortunately he died the night his son was born and he became a dark hunter.
Now, he will get the chance to be part of a family again and spend Christmas with them.

Acheron and Simi will make you smile once more.

The story is not romance, but it is certainly emotional and sweet.

Worth The Purchase

Each story deals with the holiday season. The first story is set in the present. The dark hunter Gallagher is dealing the loss of his wife and family. The only person that can get through to him is Simi (got to love that girl, she gets right to the point, just don't be near her when she gets hungry

I've already read Dark Hunter Christmas which I loved,so I'm just reviewing the other story.

I absolutely Loved it! I'm not a fan of western romances, but as this one really didn't seem overtly western and had no animal abuse,I didn't mind at all.
Man, this was Steamy,I mean,take a breather steamy,haha!
Kenyon is a master at writing vivid, electric sensations and describing the feelings of love, she's also a master of making you really feel a character's pain. She also writes very real, good men,I don't know, she gives them emotion and vulnerability that other authors might not take as seriously and make them overly butch and unfeeling or just sleazy perverts.

Great little story, not uber Christmassy but very interesting and with a fuzzy ending. But man, that steaminess...

Tough book to rate as it contains two completely different short stories.

Absolutely loved the Christmas Dark Hunter story.
It was creative, heartfelt and unquestionably unique.

Absolutely hated the Santa Wears Spurs story.
It was slow, predictable and full of cliches.
After reading 'heaving breasts' more than once, I gave up on this one. Not because I am a prude, but because this reads as if a prude wrote their own imaginary version of romance and passion. Stinky.

Weird combination of paranormal and historical but the second story was SO GOOD! Lots of drama and angst, I loved it. The first one was a little too short for me to care, since it's part of a series I've only read one book of so I didn't have any context to go with it.

The first story ended abruptly- I was expecting more.

The second was funny but predictable.

Two short Christmas stories by Kenyon. Both short and sweet.

First story is about Dark Hunter Gallagher. He comes to NOLA during Christmas. Missing his family and feeling lonely, he happens upon the Simi. Well the Simi sets him straight, explaining to him just what family is and that he never has to feel alone again. Very heartwarming short story.

In the second story we find Michael O'Connell returning the money his brother Pete stole from the very wife Pete forced him to abandon years ago. He's kept his life of crime, forced upon him by a brother he felt he owed his loyalty, from his wife Catherine all this time. He wants to quit his criminal ways and return to his wife to try and make a go of things. His brother Pete ever dogs his trail. Overjoyed to see Michael again, Catherine must stay strong so as not to get hurt again but can she not tell him he has a daughter he knew nothing about? What will this Christmas bring? Heartache or reconciliation?

I read both these stories separately in two different anthologies, so it has been a while but I have never been disappointed with the author, especially her Dark Hunter series. You can't go wrong reading Sherrilyn Kenyon.

The true test of a person is in the second chance. I just love the way that it was depicted by the author of this novel

Like my favourite artiste of all time(Alexander Nevermind) ,the word excellent is 2 weak to define the author 's skill
