Sheer Panic

Breanna Barton's love life sucks. That's why she's staying home and taking care of her eight-year-old niece, Shari over spring break instead of heading over to Panama City for some surf, sun and sex.

She's glad college is over for a couple of weeks so she can escape from Roderick, the maintenance man who always seems to seek her out and make twisted comments, and she doesn't think Dorky Dorian will follow her again after her septuagenarian neighbor's dog, Panda attacked him.

The only bad thing about Joaquim, manager of the stable where she keeps her horse, is the fact that he's nine years older than her. He has the power to make her hot all over just by looking at her.

Out of the blue, she gets a friend request on Facebook from Lance, the boy she was obsessed with at high school. Strange and terrifying incidents start happening. Is she being stalked? And was someone in her bedroom at night while she was sleeping?

Animal lover and chocolate addict, I write contemporary small town Romantic Suspense, Romantic Mysteries and Romantic Comedy.
In-your-face, spicy, zany, sassy, suspenseful, terrifying, chilling and definitely in bad taste.

One of my publishers, Soul Mate Publishing, went out of business and 5 of my novels disappeared off the internet. On January 15th, 2025, I just re-published CAPRICORN CRAVINGS. Reviews and ratings are thankfully to be seen here on Goodreads. Check it out.

Brianna is nineteen years old and is being stalked. The problem is she is not sure if it is just one guy or several. Roderick is a maintenance man at her school who gives her the creeps. Dorian is a nerd at her school that keeps showing up at old times. Lance is a boy from her past that she had a crush on who contacts her through Facebook and wants to meet. She ends up getting confused that she doesn't know who to believe.

Complimentary Review Copy Provided by Author for an honest review (as if I do any other kind!) So this book turned out to be more of a YA than I expected it to be in some respects not so much in others (depending on the maturity of the YA in question) . However it did keep me reading to find out just which guy was freaking out the MC. I won't say much about that because the author did a good job (and because I'm never very good at mystery solving) so that I didn't find out who until the MC did. Oh yeah, I have one other thing to say about it, the Cover Art and Title were pure Genius.

A young woman who leads a quite ordinary, unadventurous life suddenly finds herself in the middle of a nightmare. Someone is stalking her, and she has good reason to suspect four men. The novel unravels at a brisk pace to a surprising end.
If read lightly, Sheer Panic could be classified as a thriller. However, it brushes on profound contemporary issues. Ms. Jackson does not spell them out for you; it’s up to the reader to stop at the landmarks and reflect. In the 21st Century, women seem to be as helpless as ever before when it comes to men’s brutality. Social networks can be as dangerous as weapons and even more effective. Children are caught in a revolving door that fails to separate innocence from the complexities of adult life, which they experience vicariously but do not understand. There is much more, of course.
Readers that enjoy an appealing subject matter, true to life characters, and terse language will appreciate this novel as much as I did.
