Coconuts: A TV Sitcom Pilot

Rate this book
About the BookIn 1995 the BBC bought this sitcom pilot about a UK based Asian con-man involved in the arts world. We got to the stage of casting before they pulled the plug and went, instead with a sketch-show format, in the shape of Goodness Gracious Me. Nevertheless, they paid me for it and I have no complaints. The script, I hope, might still serve to amuse and might prove inspirational to those who want to get into TV sitcom writing. If nothing else, the structure of a half hour sitcom is there. The formatting required for a TV script will probably be lost in the translation to Kindle, but that is easily learned from the BBC's own websites. About the AuthorAward winning writer, Gurmeet Mattu is a trained journalist, with a pedigree in writing fictional drama for theatre, radio and TV.
