I loved this story and the twist on the usual step-brother stories that I have read lately. This story seemed real and genuine and it did not have a rush to the bedroom feel. It was a true romance that went through several trials and obstacles to find their happy ending. Mia is not your average heroine. She prefers to hang out with the guys and watch sports than any girly stuff. Jaxon is a frat boy that did whatever he wanted and got away with it. One night they give into their attraction and while Mia wonders where this might lead, Jaxon is over it. He tells her to move on and she tries until her mother announces that she is getting married and Jaxon is now Mia’s stepbrother. Wow! Now what are they to do? This is a complete series so the story continues without any cliffhangers. I felt this story was well written and the connection between the characters was sincere and real.

Every few months there seems to be a taboo topic that romance authors become obsessed with and that overtakes the bookshelves. Right now the topic is that of stepbrothers and they've become my obsession too for the intensely emotional conflict that befalls those involved and the scorching interludes resulting from all that desperation.

Into this crowded genre Ms. Adams has crafted a familiar tale that still satisfies as her sexual interludes leave you parched. The main characters are appealing as well as their bond grows from friends to so much more. Mia's the girl more comfortable hanging with the boys who's found a place for herself amongst the Phi Kappa Alpha frat boys. They treat her like one of the guys and she blossoms in their companionship until Jaxon's attentions become more sensual. She's always found him attractive but never wanted to ruin her relationship with the other brothers, but giving in never felt so good...until the next morning. Finding out the sexy guy you just slept with is now your new stepbrother throws both of them for a loop and leads to lots of heartache. For Mia, it leads to endless doubts and obsession over what was and what she knows can never be. It's a frustrating time full of disappointed and angry parents, as well as loneliness and feelings of lost dreams. Will Mia and Jaxon's love ultimately triumph over familial judgments or will Mia find the strength to stand up for Jaxon and their future? Mia's a likable heroine, sporty and unconcerned with girly things. She's athletic and it's this that binds her and Jaxon together early on as she becomes a formidable match for him.

Jaxon's well-liked by everyone and popular with the girls. His attentions to Mia start out playful but soon become more intense. Finding out they're now related threw him for a loop that left her alienated but it was a reflection of the fractured relationship he has with his father. His father continually holds his difficult teen years against him and Jaxon fully expects his father to tear apart his feelings for Mia. It's a desperate time of anger and sexual tension that was palpable as Mia and Jaxon tried to ignore their attraction. Through it all Jaxon remained steadfast in his feelings as Mia desperately tries to go back into the friend zone which had me admiring him. I ached for him as his father's vitriolic words tore at him repeatedly and desperately wanted him to find happiness. Even if that happiness couldn't be found at home there were his supportive and fun-loving brothers cheering him and Mia on.

This was a story full of scorching sexual interludes, almost too many that started to feel similar. At times it felt like an obsession for them, and the main basis for their being together, but luckily the vividly depicted snowboarding events brought them together outside the bedroom more intimately. The overall flow of the story was good but Mia's inner dialogues of wanting Jaxon but knowing they could never be became a bit repetitive. The main characters were likable with a sizzling connection and I was rooting for them every step of the way. As secondary characters I liked the other frat brothers but found Jaxon's father a cliched villain and a bit over the top in his words and attitude. While the ending was a bit too easily wrapped up with Mia's confrontation with their parents it all still made for a super sexy, deliciously naughty, and satisfying tale.

This is another in a long line of stepbother romances that have been published. The difference with this one is I found the story a lot more realistic than others I've read. There were a few things I didn't like but overall it's a good read.

The story begins where Mia is a college student. Mia is an out and out tomboy or one of the boys, she's friends with the guys in the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity, she likes nothing more than to sit around with them joking laughing and watching sports. Jaxon is a member and Mia is attracted to him, he's very popular with a lot of the girls on campus. Whenever he and Mia are alone he likes to tease and flirt with her. Eventually they get together, but after that he ignores her, it's as though she no longer exists. When Mia pulls him aside at a party he tells her to move on, so she does. Mia then gets a phone call from her mother who announces that she's just got married and wants Mia to stay with them for thanksgiving. Guess who her brand new stepbrother is.

The characters were well drawn, I liked Jaxon a lot, Mia I had some issues with she came across as rather calculating at times making friends for her was a well planned out campaign there was nothing spontaneous to it. I also didn't like the way that to her feminine girls were a waste of time, it never seemed to occur to her that she was the oddity. Mia's mother seemed more like a teenager to me, she certainly acted like one. What mother gets married without telling their only child and not inviting them to the wedding, of course once she makes her first appearance in the story she's a complete airhead and totally self absorbed. Jaxon's father was nothing more than a bully who liked his booze rather too much. The constant snowboarding references I found a bit boring but that's just because I have no interest in that sport. But most of all I liked the relationship between Jaxon and Mia, it was very well written and felt very real to read.

WTH? Is it 1015 or 2015? Marriage doesn't turn two families into blood-relations.

What I disliked about this (and most of this writer's books):
- Using "lowly" as an adjective to describe the pitch or tone of a chuckle, voice, music, or other sounds! It means ONLY the bottom of the totem pole, or ranking in job, society, organization, hierarchy. It isn't an adverb, ever, just an adjective.
- Repetitive statements within character monologues as a way to parrot self-interest, opinion and philosophy. In a story, it sounds like you're preaching by overstating the same idea. Subtlety goes a long way.
- Typos, misspellings of homonyms (i.e. "eek" instead of "eke"), leaving out one or more words, grammatical mistakes.

What's good/promising about the book:
- Great sex scenes, though using a Thesaurus wouldn't hurt.
- Dialogue between mc's and developing personalities we can see. Needs more depth though.
- Good details on physical descriptions of mc's but nothing about secondary characters - at. all. This sucks, because it's always nice to know what others look like.
- Good details on settings, such as snow, cold, snowboarding moves and tricks, the house. Could be better to include smells, emotions, color, etcetera.

I keep rereading this book because of the budding love story between Mia and Jaxson, and their very hot sex. I skim - literally cutting through her annoying repartee about how wrong and dirty and embarrassing the idea of her and Jax as a couple is to EVERYONE AND EVERYBODY ELSE. I suppose i enjoy their Happy Ending,.though I would love to read an epilogue about them in say, ten years.

I was given this ARC in return for my honest review.
Mia is not your typical girly girl, she loves sports, drinking beer and hanging out with the guys. So when she starts her freshman year of college who else is she going to be friends with? Some girls in her dorm? NO! Phi Kappa Alpha Fraternity is who. All of the members welcome Mia with open arms and think of her as one of the guys, however there is one member who Mia can't seem to not be attracted to. Jaxon is the total package. He is senior, member of the snowboarding team and Phi Kappa Alpha but most importantly he is hansom and he has his sights on her. Both Mia and Jaxon soon start to develop a close friendship but their flirting and sexual tension between the two is astronomical. Eventually all the flirting back in forth comes to a head when both are left alone and sparks fly. However everything isn't what it's cracked up to be. Shortly after their night of passion, Jaxon starts to ignore Mia. This in turns totally deviates her and finally at a frat party she goes up to Jax and confronts him. But with being brushed off, Mia has no other option than to let them go their separate ways.
While feeling down, Mia receives a phone call from her mother saying that she has a big surprise for her and when she comes home during the Thanksgiving break she will tell her. While arriving at her mother's boyfriend house for the holiday, Mia can't seem to get Jaxon off of her mind. She had a feeling that her hookup with Jax was going to hurt not only their friendship but also her friendship with the guys at the frat. Totally stuck in her head, Mia gets blindsided again when her mother springs her secret surprise on her. She got married! Not only did she get married to her boyfriend of a few months but Mia now has gained a step-brother who will join them as well over the holiday. Well guess who that may be?????
When Mia discovers that her new "Brother" is no one other than Jax, she is devastated. All she keeps thinking is "Who sleeps with their brother"? Throughout the holiday, Mia and Jax pretend that they are total strangers and meeting for the first time but secretly both can't seem to stay away from each other. All it takes is getting caught by a certain someone and their secret quickly gets out. All hell breaks loose and these two lovers aren't sure if being together is worth it or do they just go their separate ways and pretend the other doesn't exist?
This was a quick read and it is a compilation of separate stories combined to make one novel. At certain times I found myself wanting to scream out of frustration. I found Mia was sometimes too much in her head and if she just broke down and talked out her frustrations she would have felt better. But then on the other side I wanted to punch Jaxon when he got mad and just left Mia behind. All and all I found that this was a good book and it was a realistic situation that I could see anyone being in. I have read some other step-sibling books and most are so over the top and unrealistic, I find myself rolling my eyes halfway through it. My only complaint with this book was that I felt that the ending was kind of rushed and I would have liken to see Mia and Jaxon take more of a stand towards their parents than what was written.

Total 4 star read!

This is an amazing series
Stepbrother Wow

I really liked this book. Mia being a tomboy and hanging with the frat guys, she is really into Jaxon. With flirting and her thinking nothing off it. But when they are alone Jaxon makes the first move on Mia. Jaxon is just like any other frat guy as in hit it and quit it and Mia doesn't understand why he is being such an ass. Jaxon told her Mia that nothing happened and to move on and he completely ignores her. When she does as he says he seems pissed but nothing prepares them for what happens next. Can't wait to read the next book

Stepbrother OMG
With Jax and Mia parents married there is awkwardness between them and they act like they don't know each other. With Mia trying to avoid Jax, But Jax will do anything to try to talk to Mia and explain what happened. With them being around each other and what they feel for each other how long can they stay away from each other. What happens at the end I am dying to read what happens next

Stepbrother HOT
What happens when Mia and Jaxon finally get caught? Mia and Jaxon can't deny their feelings for each other and give in, but what happens next is worse. Mia's mom walks in and discover that they slept together. Mia's mom doesn't want to talk about it and it is just awkward. When they have a family day out and Jaxon's dad starts to drink and tells them how much a screw up he is, Jaxon can't hold back and let's his secret out. Can Jaxon and Mia stay away from each other? Can't wait to read what happens next

Stepbrother JEEZ
With Mia convincing herself that she and Jaxon can ignore each other and their feelings for each other when they get back to campus. But that dosen't last long at all, with everyone at the frat trying to get Mia to hang out, they know something is off. The tension between Mia and Jaxon can only last long until they cave. Jaxon wants Mia and only her, but Mia still wants to stay away. Will she cave and finally be happy with Jaxon

Stepbrother WHOA
With Mia and Jaxon giving into to their feelings for each other and seeing how it will be to not hold their feeling in. Thinking they can keep it a secret but what they didn't know is that the frat and snowboard team knew something was going on. With the freedom to be with each other out in the open and getting closer to each other and practicing snowboarding. Little did they know that they would get an unexpected guest spot them together. Loved how the story came together and love reading about Jaxon and Mia

I absolutely loved this series! I am not usually a huge fan of Stepbrother novels at all but I have to say Claire Adams did such a fantastic job of writing this series. Claire makes you feel so connected with each of the characters like your actually there with them going along with them on the journey, you feel their emotions happiness, anger, sadness, it's truly fantastic. I also have to give props to Claire because this book isn't like the norm and doesn't start out like every other stepbrother book out there she stepped outside of the box thank heavens for that!

This book centers on Mia and Jaxon two college kids. Mia is literally "one of the guys" always hanging out with the frat boys she is into sports but when Jaxon, starts to show interest in her their friendship changes to something else. Little do these two know their world is going to change when their parents get married and thats when the real challenges begin. I have to say these two have a lot that are thrown at them in this story and it is a roller coaster ride of emotions the entire way. Mia is confused and these two fight their attraction to one another quite often but the chemistry between them is explosive and magnetic and stunning you can feel it, I mean it practically leaps off of the page. This is one incredibly hot and steamy not to mention sexy book I mean they are HOT and I mean it even I was turned on and I was reading them and seriously if my husband wasn't currently stationed in another country at this point I wouldn't have hesitated to jump him that's the level of hot we are talking!

Are they going to be able to get past all of their family drama and have a relationship of their own? Well I say you pick up Claire Adams Stepbrother FML book and experience some of that hotness for yourself! Check it out and don't forget to add it to your Goodreads List as well! It really was an amazing read!

Had some issues but a fun read over all

I liked the premise of the book. She's a sports loving beer drinking "one of the guys" girl and he's an all American frat boy hottie. They're friends first, they hook up, oops their parents are suddenly married.

I loved the build up of their relationship. It wasn't "Hey nice to meet you, let's bone." I felt a genuine connection between them.

I don't know how much I buy the fact that their parents eloped without telling them...at least her mom, since they've always been close. Jax's dad, I get not telling. He's a douche and wouldn't bother to tell his son about much. I also kind of don't buy the fact that the stepfather got over Mia screaming at him so quickly and was suddenly accepting of the relationship he found so repulsive before. But a HEA is a HEA and we can't really have one of the main source of conflict is still being a jerk at the end of the book.

The sex was hot, but formulaic. Each time they had sex, it was pretty much the same. They're technically adults since they're in college so the topic of safe sex should've been brought up at least once. Or the possibility of her getting pregnant, since every single time they had sex she felt the "sticky slick slap" of his come shooting into her.

A lot of things were repeated, probably because this was originally published as a series of short stories (serials?) but occasionally they were repeated several times within the same chapter. To increase word count? Possibly. But as an author, editor, and former reviewer, it bothered me. Kept throwing me out of the book.

Overall it was an enjoyable book, despite the issues I had with it. I look forward to reading more from the author.

This is my first book by Claire Adams and I really enjoyed it.

The story is about Mia and Jaxon. Mia is in college and friends and 'one of the guys' with the one of frats at college. Mia has never seen any of the frat boys as anything more than friends. But when Jaxon starts to show an interest she also feels an attraction. The pair quickly become friends and find they many things in common including snowboarding. The pair grow closely and finally one night they give in to their attraction. However the next day Jaxon ignores Mia and wants nothing to with Mia that is until she goes home to meet her mums new husband who has a son who turns out to be Jaxon and is now Mia's stepbrother. Can they spend time together and ignore their strong attraction?

There seems to be a lot of stepbrother romance books around at the minute with that forbidden romance element. This felt a little different I think because Mia and Jaxon were friends and the attraction was there before they were found to be step siblings. I felt that you went on a journey with the characters and their emotions. There was happiness, sadness, romance and lots of chemistry. I liked the way the story played out and the author left you guessing the ending.

I believe this was originally published in smaller novella books and I so glad I could read them all together.

I will certainly be checking out other books by the author.

Overall a hot, sexy, fun read will I highly recommend.

Oh boy did I love Stepbrother FML! Plus I'm very grateful that Claire Adams put them all in one book or I would have probably hunted her down to yell. LOL.

Mia has spent her life being "one of the guys" and with her friends in Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity, it's no different. When one of the seniors, Jaxon starts to pay her more attention, she is confused. Should she go for him or leave well enough alone. When Jaxon makes a move, she decides to go for it. She is very hurt when he starts to ignore and snub her afterwards. Mia decides to move on, when her mother announces her marriage, and introduces her new stepbrother.

I will say it again, was so glad I had all the stories in one book or I would have lost it. LOVED this book. It was different to me as far as stepbrother books go, as Mia and Jaxon got together before they knew that they would be somewhat related. Claire Adams did a really great job with developing the characters. Her writing style was smooth and easy that had me reading it in one sitting. The story was well written, and the connection between Jax and Mia was sincere. As I'm a big sports fan, totally loved all the snowboard references. Will be reading more of this author in the future, and I HIGHLY recommend Stepbrother FML!

I was given this book for my honest review

“You know we can’t deny this, Mia,” he told me, his voice low. “You can’t deny it any more than I can. I love you.” I started—I couldn’t quite believe that he actually said it. I was so surprised that I replied before I could even thing about what I was saying. Jaxon “I love you too.”

Jaxon and Mia’s journey is one that will have you NOT at the edge of your seat but falling off of it. This author brings so much anticipation to this read that you will want to jump through the pages and shake these two characters and say “You have lives of your own forget what is going on and just live for the moment”

The sex between Jaxon and Mia is like tasting a fine wine. The smell of the fruitful flavors that hit our senses goes beyond the spectrum. The first taste of the essence is just magnificent in its own. The savoring of the wine it definitely fine before it becomes time. Did I mention that it was so so hot?

Major Kudos to this author

Happy Reading

Today is taboo romance topics we have...........Stepbrother romance. I have read so many of these books lately that it is a little ridiculous. Romance authors must get a memo of what the next hot topic will be and run with it. It ranges from vampires, shifters, MMA, military, and a host of others but this is the current one. LOL

Usually it falls into a very similar pattern, girl meets boy, they get it on and go their separate ways then later on, one of the two will realize that the other is going to be their new step-sibling and all hell breaks loose from that point on with them trying to stay away from each other. This one falls into that same pattern with scorching hot sex thrown in and some family drama.

I really liked this book. I wouldn't have continued to read it if I didn't but I truly wish that the storyline had differed just a little from the pattern above. Mia was a little over done on the angst over her relationship with Jaxon but other than that, the story was pretty solid.

Claire Adams, you are amazing! I loved this stepbrother romance story because it didn't start out as every other stepbrother book. Stepbrother is about Mia and Jaxon, two college students that become friends and they are fighting the attraction that is between them. Being a freshman and in a new place, Mia actually loves hanging out with the guys at the frat house and loves sports, but Jaxon just happens to be live in the frat house! The sparks fly between these two, but little does Mia know, that when her mom remarries, she is going to be blindsided!

I loved this series. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions: happiness, sadness, confusion and loneliness, but it had some scenes that will be fanning yourself. Will these two be able to get over the shock that comes to them or will they continue to run from each other and give up their happiness? I absolutely loved this whole series. I kind of wish that it would keep going, but I will deal with what I have right now! :)

Amazing stepbrother romance by Claire Adams. I fell in love with the characters as well as the story mainly because it didnt start off as most stepbrother romances do. Mia and Jaxon knew each other from school. She was always hanging out at his frat house like she was one of the guys. as their friendship grew so did the flirting then one thing led to another and they slept together. Within a few days Jaxon starts ignoring Mia and sending her death glares from across a room. Thanksgiving comes and Mia's mom has a surprise. and oh man what a surprise it was. Her mother had gotten married to none other than Jaxon's father.

What happens when the guy you have slept with turns out to be your new step brother? Are they able to stay friends, will they hate one another, or will their attraction keep them coming back for more? Its forbidden its sexy hell its a stepbrother book.

IF you are a major fan of Stepbrother Romance books then this is one that you need to read.

I have read my share of Stepbrother romances, but this one has been one of my least favorites to read. I manage to push myself to read the entire series thinking that something good might happen, but it didn't. I put this book down several times, and that's something I don't do unless I have to, but in this case I felt the need to do so. I was bored and frustrated throughout most of the book and frustration came cause the more I read the more disappointed I felt. I feel like this book was going back and forth and not advancing at all Should I dare say stuck in a RUT, who knows.

Like I mention in most of my reviews this is just my personal opinion, people have different taste and different views.

Some might like this series some might not in my case I was a no go for me, just a simple waste of my time.

Mia is just one of the guys at the frat house. She likes jaxon but not sure if he is. One night while the other frats are doing a beer run, they have sex. When the guys get back mia and jaxon act like nothing happened. So the next day jaxon ignores mia. When she confronts him at a frat party, he tells her to move on they can't be together anymore. When her mother calls her to tell her she got married to a man she has known for a few moths, she wants mia to come to their house to meet him and his son. When mia gets there, Bob looks familiar. When Bob introduces his son jaxon, mia and jaxon act like they just met. When the two get together to talk they can't keep their feelings hiding no more. When Mia's mom catches them. It turns ugly. Can these two only be step siblings? Or will their feelings make them become more? Great read. Claire Adams hasn't let me down yet.

This book was actually pretty decent, although something that bothered me is that I wish the author had taken a different approach to the whole stepbrother/stepsister topic. While the ending made up for it, most of the book made it seem like the relationship was taboo and creepy and it really wasn't. If she had stuck with the fact it made things awkward with how happy the parents were together and not wanting to ruin that happiness, I would've been fine. But she always referred to the subject as if sleeping with a stepsibling that you literally just found out you were related to *by marriage only* was akin to incest. Maybe if they had known each other for a long time as stepsiblings it would have been different, but that was not the case here.

Really enjoyed this collection! Having been one of those girls that hung out with the guys at a frat house to watch the games, etc I really appreciated the dynamics of the relationships and secret crush and keeping things under wraps. The crazy circumstances of the whole "family" dynamic was a mess. You had to feel bad for Mia & Jaxon...to find that great friend that she had so much in common with and then find the stronger feelings with him, only to be told it was wrong was so sad.
I just couldn't put it down and read the whole series in one sitting. I'm sure I'll be reading the rest of Claire's series too based on how much I enjoyed this one! Great entertainment! Thanks!

Mia and Jaxon are attending college, she a freshman and he a senior. After hooking up they find out over the Thanksgiving holidays that their parents have married. After their parents find out they struggle to stay apart, finding they really do love each other and can't not be together. The storyline was interesting but unrealistic since they knew each other before their parents married. My problem with this book was that it isn't my style of reading. There are pages and pages of "thinking" and very little dialogue that became very repetitious as well as the sex scenes. I found myself skimming page after page to move the story forward.

3.5 Crazy Ass Stars!

I enjoyed the premise of the story. It wasn't as "forbidden" as I thought it would be but still fed my "taboo" craving. I loved the angst of the story. Jax and Mia's struggles with becoming and staying couple had me turning pages to see what would happen next.

I did, however, find that it got repetitive with the same things being said over and over and got to the point where I skipped parts that seemed to drone on and on. That being said, this was a good read and kept my attention enough to feed my curiosity to see how things turned out for the two.

Step - books seem to be all the rage lately. The ultimate taboo subject. This one is about 2 college students who are friends and eventually hook up. Later they find out their parents just married one another, and this makes the situation very complicated. Mia and Jaxon are very attracted to one another and vow to just be friends. Will this promise work? What will happen when their parents find out?
STEPBROTHER FML is a good read. Lots of bedroom scenes and some sporty ones in for good measure!

Redundant

As much as I would like to say that I enjoyed this, I just can't... I found it entirely too redundant... Not like I have read the story before- in fact the story line and plot earned the three stars I gave it- but in the sense that the author literally reiterated the characters' thoughts and feelings so many times that I could barely stand to finish it! The only thing that kept me reading was the hope that something would happen in the actual plot to queue the monotony. I hope the author can evolve her writing...

Mia and Jaxon

I love series that are complete. I normally will not start a new book in a series if the series isn't finished.

Mia and Jaxon fall for each other. Little did they know that their parents were dating each other.

I think series like this are better than regular novels because at the end of each book there is a little something to keep you hooked. I couldn't put this read down!

I enjoyed this whole series. Mia and Jaxon were great characters, they were well written and the story was well developed. This was written in a way that it seemed more realistic than others I've read. Each book was hotter than hotter. I'm looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

GREAT!

I chose this rating because, this was a great series of books. The characters were really good together. Jaxon and Mia we're great together even though they had to make some big decisions. I recommend this book to all romance readers.

I hate giving any book 2 stars but i felt like the author decided on conflict & problems & just cut & paste them through out the books...lots of repetition. Plus the main character, Mia, drove me crazy as she never stod up for herself until the last 10 min of the book, ugh.
